PES 2009 - Petition.

Are people still doing 'petitions'? Surely it's clear by now don't make a blind bit of difference.

I use the word 'petition' in quotation marks as by definition, real petitions can be filed against public services (things we pay taxes on, therefore giving us the right to have our say).

Petitions regarding features in video games (that you have the choice of simply not purchasing) are laughable.

Petitions regarding features in video games that aren't even out yet, well.. I'm speechless.

Scarface, aside from the fact that you've unwisely insulted the people ('dumbos') who you seemed to want to sign your 'petition', you've also said in your first post "Is this the sort of thing we should spend our money on?" How about, DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY ON IT THEN. Like everyone else has said, the game's not even out yet! Why not just wait and see if this 'problem' persists once the game is released - if it does, then don't buy the game. That's the only true way you can make your voice heard.

PS: I've said it before on PESFan, but since when did the online mode become the main part of PES? What happened to people having real, human friends and playing against them?

Say whatever you wish about petitions. E-Mails to their HQ hasn't helped either.

I called them dumbos because they were going on and on about visual enchantment mods etc when it clearly says that this is about online play. As well as making fun of my sources etc.

Yeah, what happened? Are you the only one with those? Just because you play online means you're a fucking loser with no friends at all to play with? I play online because of this league, I wouldn't be playing PES online otherwise. I like the organized competition. On the side, I played PES6 multiplayer offline, when 2008 came we just stopped because no one seemed to enjoy the gameplay.

So what if you are the swedish league, means nothing to me. I can't see konami messing up twice, they have too much to lose. I too was one of the people who ditched pes2008 after a couple of months due to how bad its online play was. But there are always going to be doubters after that showing. Seeing a few youtube videos and listening to hearsay is not going to concern me too much at the moment. If it is a pile of crap again pes2010 may aswell not bother being released.

(1) What does that tell you?! That, for me about sums it up. I would guess Konami HQ probably get 1000 e-mails per day. Good luck waiting for a response.

(2) I would say it's not a good idea to call anyone 'dumbo', especially if you're trying to get them to sign your 'petition'.

(3) You totally missed my point. I was making a general nostalgic comment about the fact that for most people, offline mode (including multiplayer) was and still is the main part of PES. Yet all I seem to see nowadays are complaints about online mode, a mode which to all intents and purposes is still, in most people's eyes, still a periphery feature.

EDIT: Anyway scarface what point are you trying to make with that youtube video? That footage is from the demo, it's already been confirmed over at PESFan by the refs who already have the game that this has been fixed for final release.

Just for your information, even if this petition gets a million signatures, it's not going to make a difference. Your best bet is to not waste your time.
Agreed. dont waste time and money on this. grab yourself a 360 for £100 if you havent already and treat yourself with fifa09 as an alternative if you want to play footy game online without lag etc

Konami need to understand people will not buy the game if the online is bad, it is the only reason to "pay" for a game these days, for the online key.

1 and 2. Signing is an option. I'm not using dicatorship to what seems to be "my personal evil plan" go through here. People can sign whatever they wish. I'm not trying to get offline players to sign this, that's why I got a bit confused when they kept nagging about visual improvements and mods when the petition CLEARLY says what it's for.

3. I didn't miss your point. Let me quote you - "What happened to people having real, human friends". Tell me how that sounds will you?

The online mode is a key feature of PES. Hundreds of thousand use it every week. I'm guessing THAT'S WHY you hear all the complaints. Because online on Pes2008 was horrible.

On your EDIT: If you say so.

Look how many mods are available just for the PES 2009 DEMO already.

Kits,balls,adboards,faces,Juce tool,PES Complete Editor 0.9.0.3,
Its improving daily. When we can get at the option file after release
then specific player changes can be made.

Some people say the shooting is crap in PES2009, bet they dont even realise
its off a strong right footed player making a weaker left footed shot,or vise versa.

The new game enhanced by the community will rock .
PES Editor for 2009? WHERE?

My sources are trustable. One was at the EC in Rome, covering that event and is an admin on Swedens biggest Pes league. He has several youtube videos on PES 2009's full game gameplay as well.

The other one is a prominent player and one of Swedens best. Both online and offline.

I'm not going to sit around and wait, just like with 2008, again. It's time to look past our love for PES and acknowledge the horrible and pathetic faults it has.

Oh come on. Just play it first. If you dont like it return it.

The single most pathetic thing on the Internet are these idiots who think making a petition stating their opinion about something and expect it to change anything.

Fucking stupid.

only 23 signatures? You want to tell me that pes2009 has improved network play? bullcrap

The single most pathetic thing on the Internet are these idiots who think making a petition stating their opinion about something and expect it to change anything.

Fucking stupid.

I find a lot more pathetic the fact I bought the original game from konami believing seabass will improve network as he said. And improving menus counts nothing to me, I just want to play a f***ing match without lag and 'teleports' just like I did with fifa09 with other 19 connections (!!!) not only 1...
Poor konami...
At least signing a petition IS FREE and cost me less than a minute from my life

whoever is hosting has a crap upload or is using up all their bandwidth. PES games are NOT designed to be played online because you'll need a ping of <50ms to get something playable. otherwise it will have ghosting and lag spikes. PES developers cant fix this problem.

It's strange man, the way that they are making games now. I mean, FIFA 09 for PC is full of bugs, you gotta get fix for this, fix for that... And then when you start the game you realize that even if you have a good gaming PC, you can't even play it with a reasonable frame rate... It seems like they don't give a fuck about the players of sports games... This PES 09, it's not released yet, but with all this flaws and complications, I bet that some people will think twice before buying it...
I think it's just stupid to say: "Oh dude, if you don't like it, don't buy it!" We are consumers of a product, people that work and buy a game to have fun, without us, they are a bunch of geeks with no job. Do you think they just don't read the e-mails of their own clients? What kind of stupid capitalism is that? What kind of person thinks that?! If you don't like it you have the right as a costumer to complain about the product. Who knows that when they release the game they will fix the problems? So if you are stupid enough to think that thounsands of people who will spend their moneys with a game full of bugs don't have the right to complain, so c'mon, drop dead my friend.

Dear customer,

Thank you very much for contacting the Konami customer support team.

We apologize for the inconvenience this problem has caused you.

We are aware that the problem exists, and are happy to report that a patch for the PC version will be coming out approximately by the end of the week to resolve this problem.

In the meantime, we can propose the following temporary solution:

Please lower the resolution of the game to 1280*720 or below, and there should not be any problem while playing a mode.
