PES 2008 - Using the PS2 version on the PS3

Having got so frustrated by the PS3 version - sluggish, unresponsive, stale - I bought the PS2 game - and I have remembered how good Pro Evo was.

The PS2 version is fluid, plays like a true Pro Evo should, and is a world away from the glossy yet shite PS3 outing.

What I want to know is, is it possible to go online with PS2 game, using the PS3? When I go to select Network, it comes up with a message saying that it cannot detect an Ethernet connector in my 'PS2'.

My old PES 6 worked online on the PS3.

Before the psn update to 2-10 it worked to go online although it was wery laggy online with the ps3 ... but after the update you cant go online whatsoever =/ so i guess it was konamis way of fixing the problem ..... to bad because the ps2 version is damn fun to play ...

No its not hd but after a few games you will not think about it .first time i felt a bit letdown but the magic gameplay is there and after the first few games i even thought it looked good =)
 
Bottom line is that the PS2 game pisses all over the DIRE PS3 outing.

I traded my PS3 copy in Gamestation for a slimlime PS2. Haven't looked back.

PS2 version has been honed and perfected over a period of years, whereas the PS3 version was made from scratch, and then rushed out.
 
ps3 game is awful, i got so pissed off last night playing as lyon against monaco, the kits were both white! i had no idea who was my team.

i played the PS2 version of Wepes2008 in my PS3 and went online, the lagg was really bad so i stoped playing it, i was using my NTSC console with all the updates
 
wel i got the pes2008 ps2 platinum version,online works fine on ps2.
But when i go online on ps3 i get that strange error. i also tested pes06 and that works fine:(
i also downloaded PS2 System Data (FREE) from PSN(us store) so u have support from playig ps2 games online on ps3,but i still get the same shit!!!!!!!!
pls anyone els had this? and got a solution?
