Pes 2008 too fast gameplay, please help! :(

I have just bought a gecube ATI hd 4850 512 mb graphic card. It is quite good at crysis, call of duty 4 and the other games. But I cannot play pro evolution soccer 2008 and pro evolution soccer 6 well. The gameplay is god damn fast in these games. I checked ati catalayst control center out and changed the settings to optimal quality from performance , but nothing changed.
I downloaded the latest direct x (end user run time) I tried the lates catalayst (8.8 beta) but it is still no good.
What is the problem do you think? Please help!!!
P.S. v-sync is on, frame skipping is off in pes settings.
 
Yes I did and I do.
But fifa is laggy on my hd 4850 very surprisingly. If I set render_rate to 2 from 7 (program files/ea sports/fifa 08/data/cmn/cfg_pc_h) it is ok. But it still lags in midfield. 4850 is not a good graphic cards for soccer games :)

hmmm, if u had a third party ati control panel u can set the refresh rate for any game and enable vsync.....for the slowest pes gamplay possible, set refresh rate to 60 and put vsync to always on.
 
lol when i first got 2008, i thought my videocard was crap because the ball felt like it was rolling in mud, then i realized it was just the game :LOL:
