PES 2008 Running VERY SLOW

gimpymoo

League 2
24 October 2007
Should it be running VERY Slow on this system.. really annoying me:

AMD A64 3000+
ATI x1950 PRO 512MB
2GB RAM
Vista x64

On LOW settings - Runs like a BULLET TRAIN
On Med/High - Runs VERY slow - Very smooth.. but VERY slow.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

hopefully konomi releases a patch or something, because my system is fast and the game plays perfectly except on the replays it jitters and skips a little so that is very annoying since i can't stand to watch a nice goal i just scored.

Yup, I get that too. Normal game is silky smooth when playing but highlights are a little jumpy. Not a lot but enough to be FUCKING ANNOYING!

Ahem. And crap when trying to record a highlight for a pro evo movie..

my system is similar to yours :

AMD 64 3200+
ATI x1950 pro 512
1 Gb
Xp

the game runs good on low/med resolutions but in High it's very slow, especially in the box, unplayable

the demo run really good in high 1280*1024.

any explication / solution?

thanks

(sorry for my english)

the demo ran ok, but now with full version i only get the freaking stuttering whatever resolution i play... it's really annoying that when you buy a new GOOD videocard you still can't play the new pes optimally :(

Very wierd. Try a no-cd/dvd patch. Maybe that will help.

I don't know if it's the video card's fault but reading other forums I see people saying that the game works great with their x1950!

which graphic driver do you have installed?! the new "wonderdriver" Catalyst 7.10?! i can't play any pes with this driver, then i have installed the catalyst 7.7 and now the game run without problems on high details...

ATI x1650 PRO 256 MB AGP 8x
AMD Athlon 2700+ (2,17 GHZ)
1 GB DDR1-RAM

maybe try an older catalyst driver... for me, catalyst 7.10 is shit for older graphic cards

Frame. Skip.

Yes. Your problem is the frame skiping.

In the demo you haved that option enabled so you thought your game was playing smooth but it wasn't. Without this the game try's to show 24 frames per seccond (or whatever is the number) but it can't, so this seccond last more than a seccond in order to show all the frames. With frame skip the game just shows the frames it can in 1 seccond without delay.

I've got a HiS 512mb 1950Pro with the Cat 7.10 installed, My game was a little choppy until i turned OFF Frame skipping and turned on V-sync......I use a 32" Philips HDTV as my monitor ( set at 60hz refresh rate )and the game runs smooth as silk in game and i do not get any choppy frames in replays either at 1280x1024 with High Settings and 2x AA/16x High Q AFiltering enabled via ATI Tray tools. Try dropping your monitor refresh rate to 60hz and enable V-sync.......The game is programmed to run at 60 frames a sec.....

It's kind of counter intuitive to every other game i play as i never use v-sync on those, but try it.....

Rest of my specs :

amd 3700
2 Gb RAM
Creative Fatality soundcard
Windows XP sp2.

If you are still having problems, then maybe 64bit Vista is to blame? I know lots of new games have got issues with that OS..

Good luck...hope you sort it out.

resolution?

if it is above 1024*768 it is normal, try to increase cpu priority level for pes2008.exe it might help. also check your graphics card settings, make sure you have AA and AF disabled.

resolution? guys when you mention detail levels, please say which resolution you play at too. It is the most important of all.

I have been hearing this all over the net. I think you are going to need a decent spec PC in order to play this game properly... it works a treat on my PC but I upgraded for Crysis so it should do!!

Could be this is why 7.7 ati driver seems to run the game better?

Kaka .. Demo HIGH default res was it 1280x720..
K2.jpg

Kaka ... Full Game. HIGH res 1600x1200
K1.jpg

Full game with 7.7 is not as detailed as the demo which was done at a lower res.

Both were done on ... P4 2Ghz .. 1Gb DDr .. ATI X1650Pro 512mb .. and I know the demo pic is a little closer but it doesn't matter I zoomed it a bit but the detail stayed the same..

ati 7.7 drive demo 7.10 so the better frame rate could be down to on the 7.7 driver the detail is not as great as in the 7.10 I seen that to with the kits as in Badges and creases

I C most of u guys having ATI cards and driver issues, but is there something for us people with NVIDIA cards?
On My pc (celeron 2.0 ,1gb DDR1,7600 GS AGP),the game plays great in low detail (i get about 60 fps),but no matter if I play it on medium or high(any resoultion)I can't get more than 12-15 fps average, the same thing wiht the demo.I tried both nvidia's forceware 163.71 & Tweakforce X-treme-G 163.76 and it's all the same.Plz any help would be much appreciated

You can't expect much more than that on Medium or High details. It is a tough pill to swallow, but your system is painfully out of date. Look at it individually...

Celeron 2.0 - Half the processing power of even half of a dual core CPU.
1GB DDR - Not today's standard for memory and even if it was, it would need to be doubled.
GeForce 7600 GS AGP - AGP is dead, you need a PCI-E motherboard

Sorry man, but the machine you have is passed it's prime for gaming and you can not expect for it to play newer games at better detail levels.

same problem with PCI-E Geforce 7900GS CM 256mb 1,5gb ram HS, p4 3000, In demo I've used 1440x900 HIGH with best drivers max filtering and game have max fps,
In FULL I play with 1024 res High and I turn off filtering, v-sync on and game is slow down sometimes, It's unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FU** is going on!!!!

I've change camera from wide to far and turn on frame skipping is better now but I can't belive that is so dfferend performance on DEMO and on FULL game is shocking!!!

All games on my pc settind running with max res and max Quality even CoD 4 demo so I'm totaly disapointing with This

***********************************

Hey I turn off frame skipping and on FAR CAMERA is real good
even i've changed setting on 1440x900 HIGH and "can play now" no slows down

TRY THAT!!!

so maybe problem is with this WIDE camera guys

(for me WIDE is best camera but on far is much better quality so maybe robbie and juce on new genius kitserver fix that)

I have a strange problem. My game was running at what I think is the normal speed. It was perfectly playable. However I wanted to try to enable some anti-aliasing and other settings using the NVIDIA control panel.
When I had it enabled suddenly the game was painfully slow and, well, unplayable. So I thought, OK, I'll just remove the settings from the NVIDIA control panel. I have done that now but the game is still SLOW! I have NO idea how setting some options and then removing them again could cause the game to become permanently slow but it seems it has!
Maybe it will fix itself if I reinstall. But it is pretty ridiculous I think.

dont be so hasty....lets look at my specs, which are running the game at medium 800x600. Yes it does have some frame issues in the penalty area but i can cope with it.

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 2.1GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM
Video Card: BFG GeForce 7600 GS 512MB AGP

although im looking to upgrade but still keeping it AGP for a little while because my card is good imo

Anyone tried updating their drivers? I had problems so I updated from nvidia.com and runs smooth on high settings. Some replay slowdown but better than nothing.
