I have NO commentary. I took a custom setup and selected Englisch ingame language and English commentary language. In the settings menu the commentary is at max volume. I have the newest sound drivers (never had any probs before) and I have sound in the game (BG, sound effects,...) only no commentary!

And yes, it's full and legal version.

Some help or tips would come in handy.

Many thanks in advance!

i have the same problem! Can anyone help us?

Do you have eyes or blind??? In the last comment i said you have to install the newest drivers for your sound card

Uh I do have the latest drivers installed, just because it worked for you it doesn't mean it's gonna work for everyone else.

I just solved the problem by installing latest audio drivers.

I have an Asus P5K deluxe motherboard, with Soundmax onboard audio. I downloaded latest driver from the asus website.

Still can't save the option file. It's getting on my tits now.

could be that you have that problem because the settings are customised in a way we did with the demo - and the demo did not have commentary, music or referee-sounds...

try it with the original settings.exe/settings.dat...

EDIT: sorry - my statement seems to be wrong. I have the same problem that you have. Looking for a driver update for my audigy2 now...

Could anybody please upload their settigs.exe and pes2008.exe files in a zip or rar file please? I'm getting out of fresh ideas here.

Many thanks in advance!

these are the annying problems that we pc pes players get. once everything is sorted and we get beutiful patches all wil be forgoten

the game is full 5.1, the commentary is only on central voice, so check your sound configuration.

Read this, I tested the enviromental demo that came with my sound drivers. All checked. I started to change the mic plugs randomly while playing pes2008 and suddenly I had commentary!!

So when I want to listen music in windows, I have to re-plug everything every time.

But thanks for the info!

I feel the PES2008 has a lot of bugs, not only the commentary.
So terrible!

I updated drivers AND set the system to stereo instead of 5.1 (I use optical for surround which PES is unlikely to support) and I don't know which of those fixed it, but its fixed.

vista have the problem not pes2008 .... Turn vista sound setting to stereo and will not have the bug ... and for those with the sound problem Test from vista sound settings if 5.1 speakers works ... THEY are not ...

I can verify this, the commentary is only on central. Works like a charm now.

Now then, who here can fix the idiotic dribbling sounds? (show me one real life game in which you can hear the dribbling sound over the sound of the crowd noise).

sswats I just set the sound drivers to stereo instead of 5.1 and it worked! I use optical too, connected to a receiver. Don´t know why it doesn´t work if set to 5.1.

Ps: Win XP Professional

The settings about you speak are the Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Advanced > Speakers > desktop Stereo Speakers? is this? Sorry for poor english.

I didn't get commentary either as I had my settings on 5.1 surround but didn't have the rear speakers attached. I changed my sound card settings to 2/2.1 and now I hear the commentary albiet I think I'm losing a few sound effects.
