PES 2008 freezes

Hi all,

When I start Pes2008 I get the "loading" logo (bottom left) then the Konami logo, and finally my screen goes black :( That is were the intro starts.

Can anyone help ?

Hope konami brings a patch out soon that solves all of the problems people face.
This is the first time I had problems even starting PES. Fortunatly it runs well on my 360 and laptop (for on the go PES) :D
 
If they want to keep fighting fifa, I hope for them the cash keeps comming in. I don't pay for games, that only work on some systems.
If konami loses it paying customers, the game is doomed.
All other PES games worked for me. At different places I read about problems (also black screens).
 
Yo guys, i had the same problem. To fix it i just reinstall my game and my gfx drivers(Delete all Konami folders etc) it work for me anyways, try it.

I reinstalled it 3 times, updated my drivers and still nothing changed. what do you mean delete Konami folders? I deleted the My Documents folder along with the whole game folder and still faced the same shit. I think it's a bug, not just a fault by some of us.
 
GUYS! I found it! just check the "nullify movie playback" in the settings file and it works! at least it did for me but only on 800x600, gotta look for resolution fixes now.
 
Hello i have a huge problem and i hope someone here can help me...i play pes08 in quality level "middle" @1280x1024 at window mode and then the game lags...if go to full screen mode and start the game there comes the pes logo but hen it doesnt go on...even i make the resolution smaller and start in full screen mode it doesnt work....when i switch ingame to fullscreen, the game freezes when i shoot a goal and the ball reaches the goalline....i hope some1 can help me it really sucks....

But you have the same problem as we have ? (black screen as the intro should start)

Nullify worked for MJ and me, also the 1280x1024 patch worked. So it's working, but not the way it should be.

I hope you get it together :)
 
I get the intro, but as soon as i try to go to a game itll freeze on the loadin screen or freeze as im selectin kits or something

absolute joke this is, nullify was already checked on mine anyway

Your problem is slightly different, nullify is only for the intro. But your right it is a joke, this game shouldn't be released this way.

hmm the game wont load for me in fullscreen mode yet it plays in windowed mode now, ticking the nullify video box allowed me to choose teams etc but only in windowed mode. Is there a fix for this fullscreen issue?
 
Yeah looks like you got similar thing to me jimbo. Really is a joke, i could run 6 fine with no slowdown probs whatsoever. Installed the patch but i got the idea that was more of an online fix
 
it runs in windowed mode so i now change me res to 1280x1024 to play, with 16af forced in my ati control centre, it basically is fullscreen but with the Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 bar at the top :/ sometimes it still freezes when loading

i'm disappointed though, i play it on medium as my x800xt doesnt support sm3.0, it looks very poor tbh, not next gen at all, the crowd omg :( dribbling very easy, tomorrow i might bring it back tbh, never thought i'd say that about a pes game. Poor show Konami.
 
The game often doesn't start for me either. I just get a black screen, even before you see the small blue PES2008 logo bottom-left or the Konami logo. It's a black screen with a thin white/grey line on the left and top of the screen.

Sometimes it starts again when I've changed something in the settings, but sometimes it doesn't.

Apart from the game being pretty bad, it's hard to play it when it doesn't even boot. :)
