I used to enjoy in PES5/6 making small movies of goals edited together. I used FRAPS to capture the initial footage.

Now, on PES 2008 though, trying to use FRAPS to capture ANY footage results in the game slowing to an absolute crawl, and when you play it back it's still as slow.

I am playing at 1920 x 1080 and using the very latest version of FRAPS (2,9,2?) which claims to be able to to game recording at these levels. I tried switching down to 1280 x 720 to see if that worked but the result was just the same.

If got an ok rig, Dual Core Athlon, 8800 GTS. Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue? Or suggest any other software thta is as easy as Fraps?

Thanks.

I need help too!!!!

I always made screencaps and now I realized that I cant make them anymore. i tried alot of progs and none made caps.

Does PES2008 block that? I mean like the game blockes Hotkeys from other progs?

Is there a way to make caps work???

as far as I know, recording with FRAPS in a higher resolution results in a big time slowdown.

I record all my games using FRAPS and in 640x480 so that the game is still playable. I then upload my files to youtube or brightcove so I would prefer the file to be smaller rather than bigger which would be the case at a higher resolution.

I had loads of trouble with this but I think I have the solution.

Try and get your recording frame rate as close as possible to your gameplay frame rate. Most people's automatic thought is to record at 25FPS to make it easier on your system, but that is the wrong thing to do.

So if your PC runs the game flawlessly then record at 60FPS, 40-50FPS should be recorded at 45, etc. That sounds like overkill but it works for me, and my computer isn't that quick in general.

I would've thought that PCs without much RAM or a dual core processor still might struggle, but most people should be able to do it no problem.
