I'm thinking on it and I need a simple answer really. Does it have all the tricks in the PS3 version and so forth? (which I have BTW) I just want to be able to actually ENJOY it online and with PS3 um.......I can't

Should have said PES2008 BTW.

umm first of all you cant even play online properly in the pc yet. second of all this game hates vista OS and dx10 cards

I would wait a while for a proper answer. At the moment online play is almost non existent and without option files and patches...full kitserver/lodmixer its pretty average. Some files are now coming to light which are giving the game a better look...but a long way to go. Theres ur simple answer :O)

That's an answer for you :P I might get it and keep it purely for the future. (patches and so forth) trying to play it on the PS3 with my TV is a bit of a nightmare to be honest (but I am getting a new 1 for xmas I think)

I agree with NUT the pc version is worth getting because in the next few months patches will come out for it...........

and
jonneymendoza the reason it hates vista and dx10 cards is because the game is DX9 which is XP and some dx10 cards cannot handle the downgrade aswell as others so thats why it doesnt like it

I have Vista 64-bit and a X1900XT-X card and the game runs really smoothly on high settings at 1680x1050. No problems what-so-ever and replays are smooth. Also have it for the Xbox 360 but it feels faster on the Xbox plus you cannot patch the game and the replays are absolutely shocking. Thinking of selling the Xbox version (which I'm lead to believe is better than PS3).

So yes, imo it is worth buying for patching and smoothness.

Best to stick with pes 6 , to many faults with the new one. its the same any way with different backgrounds...;)

I have an 8800GTX and vista and get constant 60fps when playing on 1600x1200 with 16x AA so the vista myth is just a myth

The PS3 and Xbox360 versions were direct ports from the PC version so yes it will be identical in content aspects. However the PC version is much more versatile, you can mod it to your content limitlessly. New mods come out daily for it to enhance the playing experience.

I would recommend to get the PC version.

I have a Geforce 8500, 2G ram and Windows Vista and my game always crash when I'm playing, I don't understand why this happens!

I wouldnt recommend this game at all, get a decent footy game like PES 1-6, Sensible World of Soccer, all are pretty cheap now and not bugged to hell.

And much more fun to play.

bit harsh bsmaff.

whilst I enjoyed sensi on the amiga for years, and later on on the PC, it
never came under as much scrutiny as the PES series does on this forum.
It would be interesting to see the comments bout it if it did.

PES 2008 for me so far has been pants, but I have to accept I can no
longer play 800x600 on my poorly spec'ed machine.

As far as I can see from reading this forum, folk are only moaning about
about online not working proprly, which is no surprise after last year.
Give it a few weeeks and we will see something positive Im sure.

I am hoping that when I get my new mesh computer PES will run great and
I will experience the lushness of high res pes at last.

if not, I still have the PES 6 disc :-)

If I am mistaken about the 2008 gameplay offline, please someone post
something about it, instead of ranting on about the online feature.

Cheers
Shooto

Possibly or keep playing pes 6 full stop, or get Fifa sorry to mention the devil but PES 2008 really is that bugged and bad, you would have to off been an idiot like myself and pre-ordered it to own it.

Even a half-brained monkey wouldn't go out tomorrow and buy this absolute shambles of a game.

anyone got this game playing on a nvidia 8600m gt, ive got vista and 2gb ram. are you guys being too picky? i see forums praising this game.

"Kindest regards" ,Buahaha this guy works for KONAMI :lmao:
My advice to you is to skip this new PES because it's the worst PES ever, sure the graphics are better, but the game itself looks like FIFA series! If we keep buyin every crap they give us every year they will never make a good football game. It's time for them to stop stealing out money!

NO!!!!!!

PES2008 is crap and waaaay too much like FIFA. You've sold out Konami and are chasing the cash cow...should have stuck to your traditions not cloned the EA Crap!

Stick to PES6 and hope the community keeps updating kits etc!...PLEASE!!!!!

I didn't think my post would stir so much up on here. In the end I DID buy it and this might seem odd......but I'm into it more than the PS3 version! The lag is more or less virtually eradicated and plays really well on my machine (and I have vista home) I've not tried it online yet but I'm going to give that a hurl in a little bit (been waiting for my ISP to fix my connection to a 2MB unlimited package) it's actually really good for editing too and patching and so forth so that was another factor. Last game I bought for the PC was PES5 2 years ago! I got myself today a logitech precision gamepad so I can enjoy it even better. All in all worth the money and IMO much better and easier to play than the PS3 version.

Nearly didn't buy the game because I was disappointed with some aspects of the demo - been playing the game for a few days now and I love it, feels like real football - think I was a bit harsh to judge the demo, the full game feels so different - I love PES 2008 - thanks Konami!

Any problems running in Vista then try this>

right click the 2008 exe file and select properties> choose `compatability mode`...and run in wind98 ..

that should cure it.

Should have said PES2008 BTW.

I took my copy back to HMV for refund today........if that answers your question......If they release patches which drastically fix the AI flaws in this game then I may buy it at a later date.

Put it this way...If you want to buy it to have hours of fun palying single player mode.....then u could do far worse things with your money. If on the oterhand you are into two player action then forget it. The game is badly broke and all 2 player online games are nothing more than a farcical nonsense fest. I should know cos I have worked out one of the most Uber-Lame startegies for winning out of them all.

If you enjoy ML then get it its alot of fun and you can play that for a few weeks till the Online is sorted

not to mention you can play two player with a friend on your pc too just get two pads like i have

don't get this game and save your money for the next one so nokami twats can get their acts right and not just feed us crap with hype.

I agree with everyone here that PES 2008 doesn't feel like PES.
But I have to say that after about 20 Master League matches I begin to like the game.

First of all I like the gameplay very much. Players don't run the same way everytime and my strikers are sometimes changing the positions they play. The shooting is very good, in PES6 you were able to send balls to the moon, now strikers finish very calm with the inside of the foot when they are inside the box. Shooting from distance is maybe a little bit to easy...
The graphics are nice, I play medium detail, 640 x 800 or something like that and the game runs very smooth. Players faces are excellent and a lot of players have a real face.

Still there is something I don't like! The amount of stadiums! How did Konami come to the idea of putting 15 stadiums in the game! Were they too lazy to put Old Trafford, De Kuip, Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Mestalla, Allianz Arena, Anfield etc etc in the game?
Besides this issue I also miss the atmosphere in the stadiums. Why can't Konami produce the same sound as Fifa?

My conclusion: I like the gameplay very much, it plays very "free" and the graphics are better than those of PES6. I miss a lot of stadiums and atmosphere! I rate the game at a 8.5 on a scale of 10.
