I know a said things too but think about it.
PSV set a price for him about 14 million euros...which club would pay that amount for him? Even Affelay was sold for 2-3 million euros to Barca!!!
PSV made a great deal, this is business. And ofcourse Balázs didnt want to stay in a club that cant make it to the CL. So what would you do if you were in his shoes and if only 1 or 2 rich noname club wanted to buy you?

Watching where I'd be at this point, if in some bad for me, the club where I was not comfortable, then yes, I would have done it, and if the club where I was happy with everything, I really like situation at this club and the club, who in addition will participate in the Champions League, then nowhere I would not go. :D

Okay, it has been decided, now I'll follow closely behind him in the Russian league. Anji is now at 2 place after CSKA, and such players are of course now they need, though and not for such money. Btw, Roberto Carlos in the Anji scored already 3 goals. :P
 
In less than five years the Russian league will be the best league in the world and Russian clubs will win the CL.

it was record deal for Blackburn.. i guess it was maybe more than that? not sure what´s their most expensive sell before...

It was actually 'potentially a club record'. Their biggest sale was Santa Cruz to City, for £18m.

So our price must have been less than £18m, but with the potential to rise above it.

Or they're saving face, after their rather pathetic demonstration of comprehension of a release clause.

Either way, the real price will be seen in United's financial statements in a few months.

but they have written it´s club record deal on thier official website.. i guess you spended more than 18 milions for him then..

Clearly it would make you feel better if it was a higher fee, though why that is I have no idea.

I quote from the Blackburn website: "Blackburn Rovers have announced a potential club record deal with Manchester United for defender Phil Jones"
 
I am sure United scouted the player enough and splashed 18 mill not just to stop him from moving to Liverpool.

Anyway, these prices are insane. Soon no average player will be valued under 10 mill.

Blackburn accept United offer because Jones said that the only club he would want to join is United.
Liverpool also offer about 16 000 000 pounds but Blackburn rejects the offer.

so what mate, maybe whole Premier league was scouting him..and then United came, splash insane money for Blackburn and mostly for the wages of this kid.. we almost signed him, but the money decieded this...not his will...common, it´s all about the money in football. Logically he would not have that space at united to get the time as he would have at Liverpool who need a CB.. so the football issues are second in this move, that´s my opinion..you don´t have to agree.

He chainged his mind becouse they offer him more money for the sallary.. He was at Liverpool training ground last week, basicly the deal was close to finalised..

We bid for him again after united bid, just to make the prize biger..and United ended up with spending more than 16 m.

Yah I agree. I mean how the hell is a teenager who only has 30 league matches under his belt get to be paid I hear something along the line of 40~60K a week(?? someone confirm this) to sit on the bench. That is just messed up compared to other players, let alone workers in our society.

I thought United were the first bidders, then Liverpool came in and bid higher which created the whole mess that happened with Venky's, but in the end United still managed to get him.

no, but they were affraid he might sign with LFC, so they rather don´t wait a year like Ferguson wanted..

Pipa is pissed off that his good United friends have beaten Liverpool for this particular transfer. I don't see why anyone should be pissed off, there are dozens of similar players that will be far less expensive...
 
i´m all but pissed of ;) i´m actually happy to see United make panic buy just to prevent him from move to us...looks like we are on good way in finding targets, if the current champions don´t want us to have this players..
