COMUNICADO
A Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD, em cumprimento do disposto no artigo 248.º do Código dos Valores Mobiliários, vem informar que chegou a acordo com o Real Madrid Club de Fútbol para a transferência, a título definitivo, da totalidade dos direitos desportivos e económicos do atleta Francisco Javier García Fernández (Javi García) por um valor de 7.000.000 (sete
milhões) de euros.

Mais se informa que a Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD chegou a um princípio de acordo com o referido atleta para a celebração de um contrato de trabalho desportivo para vigorar nas próximas 5 (cinco) épocas desportivas, o qual inclui uma cláusula de rescisão no valor de € 30.000.000 (trinta milhões de euros).

Em face do exposto, o jogador apresentar-se-á para ser submetido a exames médicos.

You may have a point but they're totally different players anyway. Didn't Katsouranis go back to Greece although not back to AEK? Perhaps your manager feels the need to replace him (or at least bring another who will fight for that position) is the most important thing rather than having yet another tricky but inconsistent attacking player which you already have quite a few of. :)

He's got talent. But he was never gonna fulfill his potential staying at Real. Maybe Benfica is the place for him to flourish. By the way he can't be compared to Balboa for a few different reasons....
