With the arrival of Wiltord, Marseille can forget about any aspirations of becoming champions...Wiltord in the squad is trouble in the dressing room...i said the same thing when Rennes bought him...

I still remember this kid saying that he was better then Ronaldo during the Euro. Like, lol, Ronaldo is a bit overrated but come on Podolski better? kid was high for sure...

I think Podolski is one of the best players mate. He and Schweini were the driving forces behind Germany in Euro 08. What did Ronaldo do during the Euro 08? Simply flopped, I believe.

Yeah, I agree, as much as I'm sorry he didn't make it at Bayern. I remember having highest hopes to see Schweini and him play together in the club just like they do in the national team ... but it never happened.
But anyways: He's not going back to Cologne cause he'll earn more money there or it'll boost his international reputation a lot (since it won't) he just loves the town, the club and the people there. He's already idolized there, now he can become an icon and I really think it'll bring him forward considering his playing, cause unlike in Munich he'll even be starting with two broken legs. :D

And Podolski was way better than Cristiano during Euro. Like Rabona said: Poldi and Schweini were maybe the only two German players who constantly showed class during this tournament. Of course Ronaldo is the better player all in all.

Good on him. Back to his hometown club. Footballers like these should be idolized by their fans. :D I can speak!

I hope more players identify with their homeclub. Where is the sense of whether 3 million or 8 million worth, because they will play out where his heart want to play

And about the Euro, where are C.Ronaldo ? :BYE:

and what did poldolski do at bayern, flopped....

I dont know if he really 'flopped' at Bayern. To be honest, I don't follow the German league, but I watched all his games at WC2006 and EURO08 and he is a very powerful and techinical player full of finesse. And what I assume to be his predicament at Bayern is that he was always a rotation player, but he was succesful whenever he played. If that is the case, I doubt that can be considered as flopping.

No, he really flopped. He never got much of a chance though, but he never showed the right attitude either. He had some remarkable games, but way to few.
He was great at Cologne throughout his first 2 and a half professional years and always performed on the highest level in the national team, so you can't really say he can't live up to the hype. Podolski and Bayern just didn't work out at all ... that happens :/
He won't gain much international reputation at his former club, since it's very unlikely they'll qualifiy for UEFA Cup or the likes, but that's what the discussion is all about, isn't it? Playing where your heart is, not the most cameras.

By the way: The contract only covers first division football, so If Cologne somehow will end up being relegated (and nothing is certain in the Bundesliga :P), the deal won't come to a close.

How many good young talents flopped in munich ? Deisler, Santa Cruz, Sosa, Kross,Trochowski,Rau,Janssen,Dos Santos...

Deisler, Santa Cruz, Trochowski, Kroos and Rau all do not belong in this list.

The first two because they simply never flopped, just were injury prone like hell and couldn't ever perform over more than the course of a few games. Kroos cause he hasn't even really started yet and it's way too early to judge. He's a perspective player, just like Breno.
Trochowski and Rau because they NEVER were considered more than bench-warmers at best during their time in Munich. Trochowski especially, he was just another Goktan, Leitl, Bugera from the youth teams. Rau did have a remarkable run bevore Bayern signed him, I give you that.

Flops are something else in my book. Like Ciriaco Sforza - already well experienced - flopping TWICE at the same club. Andreas Herzog, Pablo Thiam or Dos Santos, whom you mentioned.
