Tuncay Şanlı (Fenerbahçe) ----> Middlesbrough

Tuncay has signed a four-year contract with Magpies (2.2 million pound a year),

Magpies = Newcastle

I'd like to see Gravesen in our team but he wanted to continue his career with Celtic. I hope that Linderoth will be successful as Gravesen at Galatasaray SK.

If it's a real DMF, Gala wanted, Linderoth >>> Gravesen.

If it's a CM they needed who would also get forward and be box-to-box from time to time, then Gravesen is the better man despite being past his peak.

But Linderoth is a very solid player. One of the most solid and experienced DMF's in Europe. He never tries the 'spectacular' or fancy stuff, so he rarely gets enough media hype or recognition and his reputation is under-rated world-wide as a result. But managers can see what a quality player he is and how much he brings to the teams he plays for like @ FC Copenhagen or Swedish NT.

Good solid buy for Gala.

Don't worry about it, everyone makes mistakes. ;)

Anyway, this signing just got me an even little more excited about the new Prem season.

Looking forward to seeing him in Boro jersey in action.

I hope he can avoid unfortunate injuries (which are especially bad and can be demoralizing when it happens right after you join a new club/league like it happened with Luque) and after a few weeks/months of passing through the adaptation phase, he hopefully will start showing some of his qualities.

He could've gone to Milan or a bigger team but he obviously would have a harder time fighting for a place in the side, so he opted probably just for the right amount of money PLUS more guarantee of 1st team football which is gonna be key to his development and reaching his full potential (hopefully) in the next few years.

As for Boro, great deal. Viduka was a very good player and still is useful but is now no doubt no longer in his prime and past his peak. To get rid of him and bring someone like Tuncay in, is a good sign of the board and manager's ambition. :thumbup:

He signed with middlesbrough 1 hour ago ;) His manager anounced the deal .....

My point is there is no official confirmation, yes the deal will mostl likely go through

I was however under the impression this was the OFFICIAL Transfer thread, so surely we shouldn't be posting Transfers until they have signed on the dotted line, and you have the confirmation from a reputable source, not just someone said.

Dom Domenico also said Ranieri confirmed the Iaquinta transfer, but still nothing on Juve or Udinese website, the deal is 99% done, but not Official.

I hate to repeat myself over and over, but we may aswell change the title to 99% done transfer thread

I can understand your frustration, gib.

What you're saying makes perfect sense and is fully understandable.

LOL so you post a link confirming that I'm actually correct.

Boro have confirmed that Turkish goalscoring ace Tuncay Sanli will join the club from Fenerbahce subject to a medical next week.

The 25-year-old Turkey international, who is a free agent, is set to join Boro on a free transfer from Turkish champions Fenerbahce.

"Tuncay will travel to Teeside next week to take a medical," said Lamb. "He has agreed personal terms and the deal is a free transfer as the player is out of contract."

The key words in those paragraphs "SUBJECT" "SET TO" both meaning the isn't an official transfer
