Official GTA: SA Thread - (XBox & PC 7th June '05)

that game will be the best gta serie..
huge autobahns, beaches, biuldings, cars, shops, barbers, body biulding saloons and more..
i think this game will be 2 or 3 cd for pc version..

Yeah Chris did post that about 2 weeks ago....and to make matters worse the scale of that map is totally wrong. You look at the size of the cities then the size of the gaps between each city - they are too far apart.

This is the official Los Santos Map - still looks huge to me..!!

gtagaming.com also state that one of Rockstars secrets this time round could be police dogs, or dogs/animals in general..! Sounds great.
 
Im shocked that the Airport is gonna be in the same city as the one we start in. I wonder how they'll stop us getting to go across the entire map right from the start if we can just get in a plane and fly there.

If you notice however on the map it has "City Limits" marked on. I wonder if they mean anything?

Good point regarding the airport, no doubt they will do something to stop us doing that.

I would guess the city limits means that the police change from Los Santos Police Department to Red County Police - that is my guess though, I could be totally wrong.

Ive just followed this one up as it interested me, heres the stuff on gtagaming....

After much speculation of the existence of wildlife, or any animals for that matter, in San Andreas, the trailer proved that this could very well be correct. In one scene, the shape of a dog sitting on the beach can be made out. Although the quality of the image is not great, the dog is pretty visible (but with Rockstar... you never know. This could also possible be someone starting to lay down, although the nose does look like a dog's snout. However, this is not completely confirmed). Here are the images taken by Fresh Rolly G and posted by rebelsouth2007 of the GTA5.com forums:

The phrase "call in the K-9 units" (sounds that are heard when you put your mouse over B-Dup's house in Ganton) from the Official San Andreas Website also suggests that dogs will be seen in San Andreas. Note: this phrase has now been removed from the website. Could this mean that Rockstar doesn't want their secret out?

I had heard a rumour about dogs being in the game as well, looks like it may well be true.

As for the Airport thing I would think they will block it off in some way until you have done so much of the game

New/Revised Information
The Bay Bridge is known as the Garden Bridge in San Fierro.
Three new missions are discussed. We'll have them on the Missions page soon.
Four Radio Stations are confirmed. Flash FM, SF-UR, Hit Radio and K-Jah West FM

Car modification is definitely in, with plenty of parts available to buy at the Transfender Garage:
Exhausts
Front & Rear Bumpers
Wings
Wheels
Roof
Spoiler
Prices for each part vary, but expect to pay $970 for a standard front bumper upgrade
Holding the X and Circle buttons will activate the nitro, the only car customisation option which affects performance

A visit to the Cobra Martial Arts Dojo will provide CJ with the ability to learn new martial arts moves. One word of caution, learning such moves, like the Drop Heel Kick, will overwrite any moves learned at other gyms.
Creating a combination of techniques like martial arts and streetfighting will be key to success in combat.

Cesar will appear in San Fierro, and seems to be friendly with CJ. Expect to be stealing cars from places like Otto's Autos with Cesar.

It's getting closer peeps, has anyone else been as sad as me and booked the 22nd off work???
 
Yeah a note on the fighting bit, apparently when in hand to hand combat, you press :r1: to target, and use :square: , :circle: and :triangle: to activate different attacks. You can mix fighting styles but it IS NOT as complex as a beat-em-up

I havent booked the 22nd off, im at uni. HOWEVER ill be in town the moment it opens to buy it, then ill pop up to the university PS2 labs and have a little tester between lectures before i go home and enjoy the weekend :)

HOWEVER if you notice, its gotta be a fake surely? They've only included the place names that have been revealed, and the large black outline looks suspicious. I found it on a GTA forum site so theres a good chance it is fake but hey its interesting never the less

Los Santos is the genuine bit and it looks like whoever made that map has taken into account that LS is a quarter of the game.

I would hazard a guess that the game map will look very similar

In those scans theres a sketch of the gta:sa map, that the writers actually saw at Rokstar before they cottoned on and took it of the screen. So as we can see from it the map i posted earlier look accurate, bar the roads which we still dont know if its right.

My god, I cannot wait to play this game.

Evo-Web will be deserted on the 22nd! I wonder if the PS2 will be affected with slowdown?

It's getting on a bit now and with the sheer scale of this game it might have a few issues. I read in the latest OPS2 mag that they seem to think that Rockstar have only released about 5% of this game!

Which to me sounds like very little compared to what we already know.
 
That map is not the official map by the way. It's a fake map someone drew up to give a rough idea of what it MIGHT look like. ;)

As long as that week doesn't turn into a month I won't be too bothered, the more time spent ironing out any problems the better!! ;)

Hmmm, the more I see of this game the more it looks like a hip-hop/rap game. I loved the whole Tommy vercetti Goodfellas/scarface vibe. Stylistically, I'm getting very dubious about this game. I cant stand anything hip-hop or (c)Rap based.

I don't know where I read it, but R* reckon that this is definately not a Hip/Hop based game, they said the level of customisation means that the main character doesn't always have to look like an extra out of a Fiddy Cent video.

Reading details on the game I'm guessin the start of the game is gonna be very "Boyz in the Hood" but what about when you get to Las Vegas in it??? Runnin ya own Casino in a Ray Liotta style way is my guess............. 8) ;)

Yeah that makes sense pro-evo. Thats what I'm hoping for anyway, I just loved the vibe of the other two, I hope they dont mess with the style of it too much.

It is rap/hip-hop. It's set during the 90s in the West Coast (California/Souther California/LA particularly). Like when Snoop and Dre were around, and being a blood or a crip was actually something to do, and people got shot for wearing a color.

And yes you can get your haircut, change your clothes, workout, etc.
