New Kits

Don't know what it's supposed to be,but it looks real. And not very nice.Maybe if someone could make out some of the text we could find out.I could only make out the first line, which says "Unlike the team,Manchester United kits have been uninspiring" <-- True story tho.

Are Umbro's new owners leaving the football market completely or are Nike taking advantage of expiring contracts and picking them off?

The most probable reason is Nike and Iconix had an agreement about important teams (Athletic Club, Lille).

In the meantime, Umbro lost Sporting Cristal too, they switched to Adidas.

Don't forget England has switched from Umbro to Nike and Manchester City will too. Umbro also seems to be dying from boots, not a lot of players wear Umbro boots anymore.

Real shame, because Umbro is my favourite brand when it comes to kits.:(

England's training for sure (it's got a sponsor) but about City I'm not sure
(it doesn't seem to look like a match shirt,I'm pretty sure it's a pre-match top, since it lacks the sponsor)

Again: Umbro WILL disappear from football. Important teams will be supported by Nike, the rest of their current teams has to look for a new supporter. Iconix, the new Umbro owner already confirmed that some time ago.

Official or reliable source, please. I won't believe it until I will read it, since it will be a terrible news for shirt fanatic like me.

it doesn't need a source, by logic you'll know that, that's what explains the moving of big teams from Umbro to Nike just before Nike sold Umbro (clever act from Nike), and the other teams searching for new sponsors like what Sevilla did ..and Sporting Cristal to adidas ..
every team wearing Umbro is moving to an other brand, so, there's no Umbro anymore in football ..
such a shame .. classic and great designs ..

So what was the point of buying umbro if they are not in the football anymore? umbro it´s THE football company.

i can't imagine umbro in tennis, rugby, fashion or something like that.

“Umbro is a true, authentic football brand with a global loyal consumer fan base and we are thrilled to be adding it to our portfolio of iconic brands,” stated, Neil Cole, CEO Iconix Brand Group. “Umbro is an exciting acquisition with more than 30 licensees in over 100 countries with a devout following. We look forward to working with our international partners to maintain and expand upon the rich heritage of Umbro,” Cole added.

image-change an brand restructure happens all the time.

they'll find something different to do. might do the brand some good, might harm it, who knows.

fact is they can't afford any football deals anymore it seems.
