i still think modern warfare is the best game ive ever played. as a non fps fan to give the amount of enjoyment that it has to me in sp, and now mates in split screen is incredible. definitely buying mw2

yea the SP was intense and had a very good storyline for an all out action type movie.
the SP mode wasnt as generic and linear as i thought. some neat surpises and mixed gameplay levels to boot too.
my fav level has to be the sniper level. easily the most difficult level i have played because at the end of the level, you are left defending yourself againts 100's of enemies waiting for support to come!

Activision secures 'the most prominent single ad spot ever utilised' for games in the UK

The game might not hit retail for six months, but Activision is kick-starting the UK hype for Modern Warfare 2 today - with a premiere for the game during tonight's Champions League final.

I wonder if it will be on Sky Sports and ITV...

I found the SP to be a bit too automated for the squad levels. At times it felt like I could just go for cover like a pussy and let the AI take care of themselves. And at times I did, especially the earlier levels just seemed to be running behind them not really knowing wtf your doing or supposed to be doing. That was enjoyable aswell as it heightend the "war/chaos" experience. But still a bit too automated IMO, otherwise a great game.

I was wondering what happened to it, it never showed up on Sky Sports.

It was there on ITV, like I say just a cut-down version of the last trailer that was released. Strange it wasn't on Sky as well...

Activision may be considering a subscription-based multiplayer option for the Call of Duty series.

The service would be "in addition" to features the series offers today, according to a mysterious survey drudged up by Destructoid. In other words: you wouldn't lose, only gain.

The paid-for service "may" offer early access to content like map packs and betas; increase character customisation options; add enhanced statistic-tracking and community features; include exclusive in-game modes and challenges; and open a suite of team-management services for competitive play.

Examples given are persistent attributes that carry over from game to game, War Rooms to meet and plan in and exclusive tournaments and leagues.

These will be paid for monthly, quarterly or yearly, or included with Special Edition versions of the game at retail. The survey asks, "How likely are you to purchase or subscribe to this online service when the next Call of Duty game comes out?"

Activision told Eurogamer it does not comment on rumour and speculation.

But it's not the first time Activision has mulled over the idea of a more ambitious online approach for Call of Duty - a series that has an already popular and robust multiplayer segment.

"When you think about other properties that we own and control like Call of Duty, and what would be the natural evolution of a property like Call of Duty into a massively multiplayer environment, and how do you monetise that, the same rules apply," said Kotick in March 2008, leaking learning from talks with Blizzard while the pair discussed mergers.

fuck are u kidding me? pay extra so you can organise leagues and get new perks and gear? fuck that i rather pay blizzard monthly for a massive MP game with new content delivered weekly

COD cant even manage over 16 players on the consoles. i've always said how cod should really go the same route has battlefield. create a massive MP kind of game with large player counts

I've noticed that a lot of retailers have the game priced at over £40, even ShopTo.

can't yout get cod5 keys only for next to nothing these days? should be allright for online gaming...pretty sure they'll do the same stuff with warfare 2

I haven't seen a game (special editions not included) priced at over £39.99 (online) on either PS3 or 360 since launch, something is off here.

It might just be the starting price though. I remember Killzone 2 was £40+ when I first pre-ordered it a year or so ago. I think we'll see a price reduction by November.
