Microsoft Xbox 360

Just got the 3 red lights of doom. What type of box do I put it in jay666? Just a box with padded airbags or anything. Surely I dont just shove it in a box?

My 360 is still at home waiting to be taken. :( I got an email from XBox but no one has come to collect it yet.

Who is you retialer you bought it from? AFAIK, GAME, Gamestation, Currys, HMV, Virgin do a straight swap as it is legally the retailers liability.

Action Replay.

Did you keep the one it came in? If not, just try any box that it fits in and doesn't move around too much, pad if you want.

They said not to use that one on the phone because you may not get it back.

Well that was easy. Bought my 360 at PC World last December. Took it in this morning and got a replacements straight away. No hassle, no questions.. just told them it was under a year warranty and it was fucked. They looked up some stuff on their system and said that I could get it replaced. So I now have a brand new Xbox, less than 24 hours after my last one broke :D

All this is quite worrying! I might get the warranty from MS, how much is it agian?

I didn't even get a warranty though. I bought the Xbox 360 as normal and told PC World it had a one year warranty. It wasnt about the girl being an idiot either cos she asked her associates and even checked on their computer systems. I urge you to buy your 360s from PC World!

You do get a warranty from MS with any new 360. You also get a warranty from your retailer. AFAIK, GAME, Gamestation, HMV, Virgin, Currys, Comet and PC World do straight swaps instore. Mine is from HMV so I'm cool, but its after the 12 months that worries me.

Never had a problem with my 360. Bought mine from HMV and still have the receipt. *Fingers crossed it stays in working-order*

Well after six phone calls to M$ my 360 still hasn't been picked up. I give up with those bastards there all as thick as pig shit. If you have to ring em speak to the manager and nobody else, COD 3 comming tomorrow and GOW next week i'm well pissed off.

He had a GameCube since launch and bought five games over time, Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion and Twin Snakes (cause I made him buy it).

He was 11 when the GC came out, and he thinks hes grown up enough to realise that Mario and Zelda are rubbish. And he figures that apart from them, theres nothing else on the Wii (pretty much like the GC)

Nonsense post.

The 360 is pretty sweet and as ive said all along it will only get better and the healthy competition with Sony will benefit us as gamers :)

HD-DVD player out soon. I'm hoping to play my luck and get one without pre-ordering online. Does anyone know any stores doing pre-orders yet for HD-DVD player?

i think it would of been better to put the hd dvd in the actual 360 instead of forking out another 130 squid

I don't want HD DVD I'm not interested in movies. So the choice is a good thing.

I agree, plus I think DVD, HD-DVD, or Blu-Ray are all going to become movie formats of the past very quickly. Digital distribution is the way I see things going. Cable companies have their HD movies on demand already and it just makes more sense to do it that way IMO. i'd rather pay the $3 or whatever to watch the movie, than to pay $30 for it. I mean, what if I only ever watch that movie twice in my life. I would have only spent $6 to do that as opposed to paying $30 and having it collect dust.

Use Ebay? lol I agree though 20GB for that amount of Money is steep but the PS3's 60GB hard drive isnt exactly value for money either I doubt.

Sorry yuyazan, only the official drive will work for game saves. It uses a unique partitioning and encryption system, so you do need it.
