bollocks! must have set the wrong e-mail address up. Somebody else will have received my e-mails now and info!!
Put my name in without the 76 at the end.

Hope I can change all that!!

because it had already supposedly been 'professionally refurbished by a semi-retired electronics engineer' as per the listing when i bought it on ebay...

i think he modded the insides with the x-clamp or something similar...

Yeah they repair it :LOL:

Obviously if its been opened its out of warranty but i did the X-clamps on mine and they still fixed it for me so you have nothing to lose really ;)

Unless they made a change to it you can't. I set my 360 up with the girlfriends msn address as I didn't have one. When i eventually made one i tried to change it and it wouldn't let me.

Worked for me. I had to change it all through passport.net first and then my login details were OK to change.
 
I've been looking for ways to capture video from my Xbox the last few days, but I really have no idea what to choose to get best quality/price. I know that some of you guys can capture video from the Xbox, so I'm wondering what setups you use?:TU:

(yes, I have searched the forums here as well but I didn't find anything, if it has been discussed before)
 
Hmm don't think much of Splosion Man. A standard platform game with a little twist to it? I'll pass.

If you want to be able to keep playing in HD on your tv and record on the pc you could get an external HD cap card. Basically the image will show on your pc and tv so you can just tap 'record' then play on the tv.
Something like thuis

If not you could get any old capture card and play on the pc using the composite leads.

New Dash date

Microsoft has just announced that the upcoming Xbox Dashboard update will be hitting Xbox Live on August 11. The update is set to include many new features, including Games on Demand, improved Netflix performance (along with Movie Parties), Avatar Awardables, Avatar Marketplace, the ability to rate games, new Friends list sorting options and more. The announcement also mentions that previously announced Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm support is slated to arrive this fall.

As many of you have no doubt probably seen by now if you've been connected to Xbox Live, Microsoft's new dashboard advertisements have begun appearing for Xbox 360 owners.

Rather than the standard, static advertisements you're used to seeing, these bring running commercials to your 360, in some cases complete with video and, more annoyingly, sound. You can see an example of one running in this video here.

Ah that's good news then because that's only a 5 day turn around for a broken 360 :)

Didn't know about the latter either but that's not a problem
 
bought another elite last night - managed to get the 12.1 amp jasper version, so i'm guessing RROD are non-existant on these new ones?

anyone know about this?
 
RRODs are pretty rare on any since they admitted it was a problem it seems now anyway tbh

there improving it, with new revisions etc .. but they can still happen

just make sure the console is well ventilated

An actual Jasper Elite in the wild? Or the Resident Evil Jasper Elite machine? Mate of mine who is a store manager in a Game said he hasnt got any Jasper Elites yet, only Arcades and Pro/Premium's.
