Microsoft Xbox 360

I just got an Xbox 360 again but for free! Its been two years since I last had one. It broke down in 2007 and since then my PlayStation 3 has been the main console. Just bought Braid and SWOS on Xbox LIVE Arcade while I wait for Fable II to arrive tomorrow. These are the games I will be buying over the next week:

Too Human
Race PRO
Halo 3
Call of Duty: World at War
Bioshock
UFC Undisputed
Red Faction Guerrilla
Half Life 2: The Orange Box
Mass Effect
Saints Row 2
Resident Evil 5
Blue Dragon
Burnout Paradise
Fight Night Round 4
Gears of War 2

Can anyone recommend any other really good games either disc based or Arcade titles? Thanks. :)

DONT BUY TOO HUMAN, I know you can pick it up for peanuts, but I dont think it's worth that. Try the demo first at the very least.

Race Pro is 15 quid new at Play, Burnout Ultimate Box is a tenner new at Argos.

Worms 2 is very good fun.
Outrun Online is great too, not sure if you played Coast to Coast on the PS2 or XB, but its that re-done, you may have it on PS3.
Geometry Wars 2
REZ HD

Thanks for the help Holio. Yeah I heard about Too Human and that it might be a bit crap but its the level of crapness which seem enchanting to me! I tried looking for the demo today but it seems to have been deleted off the Xbox LIVE servers. Those are really good prices for both Race Pro and Burnout. I will definitely take a look at them. I already have Outrun Online Arcade on the PS3 but I have heard nothing but good things about Geometry Wars 2 so I might end up buying that too. :TU:

The best thing about XBLA is that ALL titles have a demo, so you can try them even just a little bit before you decide to buy.

I think if your interested in a Too Human type game, maybe pick up Sacred 2 if you havent got that on PS3 or PC.

I'll go through my 360 list and see what I've played that I liked:

Bionic Commando
Bully
Carcassone (XBLA)
Catan (XBLA)
Crackdown
Dead Space
Lego Batman
N+ (XBLA)
Poker Smash (XBLA)
Rez HD (XBLA) (As Holio already mentioned but worth mentioning again)
Viva Pinata

Hope that helps :)

Microsoft has opened sign-ups for its "Xbox Live Update Preview Programme", which will allow some of you to get your hands on the next dashboard update early.

To get involved, you need to register on the Microsoft Connect site with the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox Live gamertag. Then there's a survey and you're prompted to provide your gamertag and Xbox 360 Console ID.

The programme is open to anyone who lives in an Xbox Live region, and Gold and Silver members can both sign up, although Gold users will be given priority.

According to Major Nelson, "We're looking for multiple thousands of participants, so your chances of making it in are good."

In case you can't remember what's included in the autumn update, check out last week's full rundown. Highlights include Netflix updates (US), Avatar Marketplace, Games on Demand, and changes to user ratings, parties, video display options and various other minor areas.

However, features touted at E3 including Last.fm, Facebook and Twitter integration, and Zune HD instant-on videos, are not included.

Cheers Dags. I might pick up Bully since I never played it before. Also Dead Space seems pretty good too. :)

can anyone recommend me some games that me and my other half can play together?

it can be ps3 or 360, downloadable or not.

unfortunately, wipeout HD is just too damn difficult for the useless bitch!

and she plays bass on medium when we play GH/rock band, so she is edit: not very good at the pastime of video gaming...

Does any of you tried to fix your xbox with x-clamp ?
And is it really working ? I want to try it on my old 360.

I performed the Xclamp/Thermal paste fix in combination with Team Xecuter's memory pads on my friends Xbox 360 four months ago and its still running strong!

anyway, my xbox has been E74'ing for ages now and i've towel-tricked the shit out of it and it's starting to piss me off cos it only lasts a day, then i have to go through the whole process...

i've had enough and am gonna buy another xbox.

but my question is this:

i have the elite (albeit broken) with a 120gb hard drive and it's attached to my av amp via hdmi.

is there any point in me buying another elite? or could i just get away with buying the arcade version? which i believe has hdmi too...? thus saving about a hundred quid in the process...

Just send it back to MS and get it repaired because the E74 error is now covered for 3 years as well :)

In response to your question you may as well get an arcade and put your 120gb hard drive in that and yeah it does have HDMI

Yeah, I have an arcade 360 with my 120GB hard drive in and it also has HDMI on the back if needed :TU:.

cheers guys...

daz, i bought the thing on ebay, and it E74'd after only 2 hours!!!
so i dunno where to send it back to...

jay, is it the video i think it is?

Send it back to Microsoft mate

Just register it here

http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/support/ there is a link on the right that says register or repair

Then your just fill in the serial number and your detail and click request repair and they will start the ball rolling

and what video are you 2 talking about here?

do they acually repair it though? or will they just plug it in, realise it's E74 erroring and stick it in a pile in the corner?

because it had already supposedly been 'professionally refurbished by a semi-retired electronics engineer' as per the listing when i bought it on ebay...

i think he modded the insides with the x-clamp or something similar...

Sorry for being thick guys but I'm on XBOX live now but how do I sign in to the xbox.com site using the details I entered when setting it up through the console?

just tried it and it doesn't like my sign in details.

It's a @google.com address. Does that affect it?
