Microsoft Xbox 360

Right, just got a 120GB hard drive :BOP:. Had a bit of a mission to get it though, almost everywhere round here is sold out! This is how my morning has gone:

Popped into Gravesend town centre to have a look in the Game there, they had none in stock, so then I walked down the road to Blockbusters and they also had none. I then phoned BOTH Game shops in Bluewater who had none, then phoned HMV, Currys.digital, and Zavvi in Bluewater who all had none. So I popped back in the van a little bit further round the corner to an industrial estate and Comet, again, out of stock. I pop over the road to the big ASDA, out of stock. I then phone ASDA in Greenhithe and they haven't got any but said to try ASDA in Dartford, I rang them and they had none! So I was about to call it a day but then decided to phone GameStation in Dartford, remembering that it was there. I rang up and they had some in stock! So I drove up to Dartford and got it from Gamestation for £85 :DD.

How much?

i dunno if you mentioned it in that very long paragraph but i aint reading it to find out :))

Hi guys,

I can't seem to get on XBox Live through my laptop.

I used most of the guides that have been written on the internet.

But i can't get the "Sharing" tab on my wireless connection properties.

According to the guides, in the "Network Connections" section you have to right click on your connection, go to properties and go to the "Sharing" tab to click on the two tick boxes under "Internet Connection Sharing".

Here's a screenshot of what i'm talking about...

Anybody know why the sharing tab doesn't show up?

Yes it will need to be the Local Area Connection 1, or something like that that is enabled Soul.

It was out in Japan about a month ago, but it's only out in Europe and America etc this week.

Bugger.

I just got 1 red light and an E74 message.

6 months old 360. Anyone got a link on the steps for returning it for repair?

No clubs for a while :(

I think you need to enable the sharing on the LAN card and not the wireless card?

Yeah its the LAN part you need to share

Thanks guys,

I did do that, but it still won't work. Here's a screenshot...

In the guides, like this one...

Code:

...it says you also have to enable it on the wireless card.

Any ideas why i can't get the sharing tab on it too?

No probs. It's intriguing me, so I might have a look and see if I can set it up myself later. I'll use the same type of connections you have. So what are you trying to achieve, have I got this right:

You have a wireless laptop that connects to the internet, and you want your xbox to get online via this wireless laptop's internet connection.

I have mine set up and it works a treat.

My set up is a follows. Ethernet cable in the back of the xbox connected to my ethernet port on the laptop. Sharing the wireless connection

Full process:
Start>Network>Network>Network and Sharing Center>Manage Network Connections.

Once in there, right click on the wireless network connection.

Tick the first box.

Click OK.

You are now sharing the connection with anything connected to your computer.

There is another way without sharing the connection. You bridge the connections between the ethernet connection and wireless connection.

Image:
In manage network connections. Select both the ethernet and wireless connection. Right click and click bridge connections. Then OK all the boxes.

Soul - If you can't see a sharing tab on your wireless connection it is probably because you've enabled sharing on your Ethernet connection. So right click on your Ethernet connection, click properties. Click the sharing tab and un-tick both of the options click OK. Now try again with the wireless connection, tick just the first option in sharing.

It wont allow you to enable sharing on both connections because they will conflict.

My Wireless Internet connection was recently secured and now my Xbox won't pick it up, meaning I can't connect to Live. My Laptop picks it up and runs it fine. And my Xbox is still finding other wireless networks so does anyone know a fix?

Anyone? :)

Go to network settings and have a look in there for your wireless network. You should be able to choose it, then enter the password to join it.
