Microsoft Xbox 360

how much would you have to pay additionaly? if its more then £50 i wont bother

At the time, the Elite was 300 new, with it's bigger HDD and HDMI cable and a game etc, I got 140 for my Premium, thus new machine for 160 quid, to upgrade to the bigger HDD was going to be a ton anyhow, and the official HDMI and audio dongle from MS was 35 quid. So for me it made sense at the time. Now Arcade's can be had for 100, or Pro's and game bundle for less than 200.

so its possible my so called "core" 360 is worth 50-60quid?

Thanks cowden :), Going to take a look now. Just incase some of you want to know some things about the new NXE:

Some of the stuff there are obvious, but there are some stuff I didn't know.
Nice little find, thanks! :)

Just spent the last five minutes deleting all of the "achievements" (i.e. 0) for the Arcade game trial versions, although they should delete themselves really, absolutely no point in them being put on your achievements list if it's impossible to get any achievements from them...

Has anybody else got a problem charging their 360 pad, where you can plug it into the play and charge kit, it'll say e.g. 1/4 bars left, but then if you switch the 360 off - where the pad is supposed to continue charging until it's finished (there's an option in the system settings menu that lets you specify whether you allow that or not) - it will switch off after 10-20 seconds? Then when you switch the 360 back on and try to charge it fully, it's adamant that it's now fully charged. But a day later it needs charging again.

I've had this with two batteries now (one official, one GAME's own brand). I have to leave the 360 on all day for it to charge the pad up fully, and I constantly switch the 360 off after playing a game forgetting that the battery is charging.

Muhahahaha went to Blockbuster to get a 120GB hard drive expecting to pay £70 odd pounds for it, they had them in stock and when the sales person put it through the till it came up at £49.99. He never questioned the price and I kept quite as well!! Paid for it and literally legged it out of there.

Sell the cable when you're done with it and you'll get £20 back, so you'll have bought a 120gb drive for £30... Very very very good deal...!

That guy probably will get the sack because of that :((

But thats ok because you got a cheap 120gb hard drive

;))

My 360 has frozen six times in the last two weeks (three times before the NXE dashboard was released). It's crashed whilst in the middle of Far Cry 2 at a random point, then again the following day, then during Fallout 3, and now post-update it's crashed when exiting a game of FIFA and twice at random points during Mirror's Edge. How many of those last three is down to the bugs in the new dashboard we'll never know.

Was really annoyed the last time, I was doing a speedrun challenge, played it for half an hour and finally mastered it, got to within ten feet of the finishing line and the machine froze up (although weirdly the timer froze for about a second, then went forward four milliseconds, then froze again). It was like it was actually taking the piss.

I was thinking the laser was on the way out when it was crashing during Far Cry but it looks like it's the actual machine now. Not a happy bunny. :(

In other news, can anyone tell me how long Blockbuster's "trade in any game released within the last two weeks and get this new release for £10" offer lasts for (I mean how long does the "new release" keep that sticker on the front for, is it just for Fri-Sat-Sun or is it for a week or two weeks)?

mine has froze 2 or 3 times and only since the nxe dash

also it freezes for a few seconds when i come out of the friends list via the guide button if i am in a game.. the music even pauses at that point.. then it continues to work a few seconds later

Quick question, I'm having some issues with my 360, sometimes (more often than not) it's not reading the disc in the tray. I switch it on and it prompts me to open the tray rather than see the game icon.

I open and close it a few times then it seems to register and I'm able to play the game. This was happening before NXE and after.

My question is: is this a precursor to RROD or other problems? Has anyone heard of this before??

Any help greatly appreciated. I have an Elite if that makes any difference.

Well I guess that's a no, never mind.

I phoned microshat and they said to check the time and date were correct!!!

Also to remove my HD then try it, which sounds a little more sensible than the time and date messing it up.

If this doesn't fix it then it'll cost me £60 to send it to be fixed.

Fuckers.

Get a Core/Arcade new machine, sell the bits you dont need and Bam, new 360ness, I would do that any day than pay 60 notes for some bobbins fix.

My mates got my 360 at the moment whilst my bedroom is being redecorated.

Therefore I haven't seen the NXE yet. Apparently it loves freezing though, anyone else having issues with it?

No issues whatsoever for me - it looks nice, it's easy to navigate, has some nice features (especially game installation and parties for chat).

I have one issue which isn't related to the NXE, when my Xbox has been on for a while (well, about 20 mins or longer), it starts to make a fairly loud noise, not half as loud as the disc spinning used to be but still annoying. Then if I turn it off and back on quickly then it makes a weird buzzing noise. If I leave it for a while then it goes back to normal.

Weird :II Hopefully it fucks up soon and gets the RROD so it can be replaced.

As we get closer the Christmas the bundle deals will start coming out, just keep your eyes open and you should find a crackin deal
