...Due to sony cheaping out on the RAM. Nice one sony!

Any news on a EU price drop for the 360?

not true. soul calibre 4 comes with OPTIONAL install mode on it so that just shows that its up to the devs to implement it, not Sony
 
Installing to the HDD would be a good idea for games like GTA4 but i cant see the point for any other ones
 
Sorry to interrupt but I forgot to mention the guy from microsoft told me to enter x,x,lb,rb,x,x in the memory tab under settings. Apparently that made things worse because my tray won't close anymore and my saved games are all corrupted now. Goddammit..

I think it looks good, i like the thumbnails and if you can skin it as well then it will be brilliant. I dont like the Avatars or the Community part that replaces the friends page though but they still have a Basic Xbox guide which is fine by me

So apart from the Avatars the new interface looks very nice and more grown up to me, hopefully Netflix will launch in the UK soon because that feature looks great as well

At the end they show how you can browse all the 360 stuff by flicking through some small grey rectangles (Xbox guide they call it) that's what I'll be using, new interface looks like utter shite.
 
Think my 360 might finally have died, I started Fifa, was editing players to use their XP points, suddenly the colours all go funny and show mostly just red and green blotches, I save my game, turn off the Xbox, turn it back on and no image comes up, just says "mode not supported" on the tv, now no matter what I try it just says "mode not supported" :)

Wife's checking with Gamestop on the way home that I can take it in tomorrow and swap for another pre-owned one as per their store policy :)
 
Oh blimey :CONFUSE:. No RROD or anything? Jonney won't be happy unless you have the RROD mate... ;))
 
The new Xbox Dashboard/Guide actually look quite good, apart from the community bit. The rest of it looks quite decent :TU:.

Nope no RROD, just simply no video output at all, unfortunately I can't test to see if it's the TV or anything as I only have the one TV, everything seems to be working in the background, like I can tell it to start up a game and it seems to load, I just can't see anything! The TV displays TV shows from the PC just fine so I'm assuming it's not that.......
 
Speaking of the rrod, I tried the towel trick, it would heat up my 360 in 15 minutes and right in the middle of a session it would just switch off and have the 2 red lights, not 3. Any other tricks? Or should this do me and tell my retailer I got the rrod?

What about the cable you are using to connect it with? that could be faulty?

It was made 14/09/2006, just a pre-hdmi premium that I bought pre-owned from Gamestop in May, the store said we can exchange it next week as they don't have any other pre-owned consoles in right now.

Well it's possible but I doubt it, worked fine for 3 months, hasn't been twisted about or yanked or anything, I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again but not even a flicker of image back. Gonna pick up a VGA cable later and try that seeing as I have to wait until next week to exchange it :)
 
On first impressions I think the new dash looks pants. MS are trying to tap in on the Wii market for sure. I think I'll stick to the classic mode shown at the end.

I'd rather MS invested more energy in making their consoles more reliable than this crap.
 
got my xbox back took one week and zero phone calls just registered it on website printed a label and away it went my motherboard and dvd were both shagged.... feck they even cleaned the outer case hahaha and gave me one month free live
 
Fuckin hell, you must be the most valued customer mate! The DVD drive was the problem when mine RROD'd about a year ago now.

Thats how the do it for everyone now

mine came back and it said the did the drive and mobo and i got a months live free
