Microsoft Xbox 360

Some people will tell you not to get it because it doesn't have all the features that San Andreas did and that there isn't much to do after the story but personally I think there is more replayability in IV than any other GTA...

Overhyped game? Yes
Great game? Yes

Even though it probably isn't as good as some people expected it to be, it is still one of, if not the best game of this generation. I would say it's a must buy.

how can IV have more than any other ?

GTA IV - finish the story and you have a few side missions and the usual find XXXX jumps etc - bowling darts and pool are fun but boring as they're not online enabled -online was amazing for a few weeks and now not so amazing.

GTA SA - finish the story and you have a few side missions and the usual find 100 XXXX jumps etc - then you have all the extras like the casino car modding character moddingand with the pc mods & online

Saints Row was much better than GTA IV

Just because the stuff isn't handed to you on a plate it doesn't mean it's not there.

If you just use your imagination a bit and combine it with the euphoria physics you can have a lot of fun :DD.

In SA I got bored very quickly after finishing the story, there were a lot of side missions but they were all boring and irrelevant - A gangsta doing Pizza delivery for example :SS.

The canned animations made the game boring quickly too, when people fall, die, run etc in exactly the same way every time with no variation.

How can you not get a game that's rated as the 2nd best of all time!

there's no doubt its less GTA'esque then the others but its still a fantastic game

First of all - im not into walking around the GTA worlds killing peds and driving into walls while laughing. I couldn't care less about getting head from a hooker - the humour in GTA IV is piss poor - when you hear a radio ad for the CSI style spoof and it says 'its scientifically boring' --- who the hell thought that was clever and funny? Lazlow is wasted in this game, his station has nothing of interest. The music is very hit and miss. side missions and most of the main storyline missions are very samey and a lot of the missions are filler (See driving a dead body in a trunk from A to B)

Car modding, planes, parachute base jumps, the casino, buying properties instead of being handed them for nothing, purchasing extra safe houses.... these aren't in GTA IV - my imagination can't bring them back.

I guess some people you just cannot please.... Id say a decent Next Gen Outing for GTA, how you can say Saints Row was better is beyond me! Saints Row was laughable at the best of times.

I think Saints Row had more of the good stuff and this GTA is lacking a hell of a lot of extra content. I had far more fun with Saints row online and off line once i had completed the story mode than i had with GTA.

What was laughable about it?

What did people expect?

Everything from previous GTA's combined with the best bits from Saints Row. - And though I'm not saying GTA isn't a good game - all they actually gave us in my eyes was a very basic GTA3 in HD with a online side that gets pretty dull after a few weeks.

I really can't see why the press gave GTA a flawless 10/10 while ignoring the missing content. It's like they reviewed the game on it's name alone and the fact it was was GTA meant it was 9-10/10 regardless.

Look at a review like haze where everyone pointed out how much more other games gave you and haze lacked a shit load and so it was crap - yet they chose not to do that with GTA.

GTA IV - Buy it, love it for a month then move on.

Come on, none of them were really fun were they?...

Car modding - A bit pointless, Niko doesn't seem like a character who would be interested in car mods.
Planes - Wouldn't work in IV (Liberty City would be too small for them, there's only one airport, it's a dense busy city, nowhere to land etc.)
Parachute base jumps - Might have been good to have in IV but I think it's more fun to jump off and then just smash onto the pavement below :)).
Casino - The role Niko plays wouldn't fit in with him gambling in a casino.
Buying properties - Again the role Niko plays doesn't sound like one where he would be able to buy properties all over the city and one safehouse on each island is enough.
Buying safehouses - Having an extra place to save the game that fun and a feature which I miss...

I know they don't fit the character but neither does half the stuff he does do in the game.

The character Niko is good but if hes the reason the game is so limited then they should have changed him to someone else or had niko in the game as your friend.

I think Saints row had it nailed where they let you create your own guy so you could make whoever you wanted and then had the choice to play a game that would fit that look. That way the rest of the game isn't held back because the devs wanted a strong moody straight character.

Well hopefully Saints Row 2 will please the people who don't like IV... It seems to have a lot of features and activities.

I thought that was an old problem that's fixed in the newer consoles? I keep mine horizontal because that's the only way it'll fit in it's slot. Plenty of air flow though, and I don't keep it on for very long either.

I stood mine up but I accidently knocked it horizontally with my foot. The game inside, Burnout Paradise, got a big circular scratch around the middle of the disc and I had to return it. Luckily for me, the disc was already suffering from disc read errors before the accident occurred, probably because it was pre-owned. :DD

Are we talking about porn mags now? :)

 ;))

I've been advised not to place it under my bed because it might heat up quickly but it's been down there since the mentioned and still no rrod. Well thank god for that.
