Microsoft Xbox 360

Just played a match of Fifa, came into the kitchen to use the PC, went back into the living room and the 360 had turned itself off and 3 red lights were flashing.........

Turned back on ok and Fifa's booted up alright but once it starts it'll just get worse and worse until it's permanent right?

Well the internet majorly crashed at the exact same time and there have been problems with the electricity in the town so I'm not convinced yet it's actually dying, guess we'll see in time :)

Fortunately I have a 1 year Gamestop warranty and if it dies they exchange in the store, none of that sending off to MS crap :)

I had the 3 red lights on my 360 a few times when I first got it, but it was down to the multi-plug adaptor thing being a bit loose (meaning that if it came slightly out of the socket it would cut off the power supply to the console) and when I got a new multi-plug thing then I have had no problems at all.

I also had a short powercut (a few seconds long) a few weeks ago and the same thing happened, 3 red lights.

As you said there was electricity problems, I wouldn't worry about it dying as it is most likely to do with that.

Well done :TU:

What games did you go for?
The first two I chose were Vegas 2 and Burnout Revenge, both pre-owned. But then Burnout Revenge out disc read errors, so I traded it for Orange Box. I'm looking to get GTA as well soon.

Vegas 2 is brilliant, btw! :DD

Call of Duty 4! <----- You HAVE to get it! And FIFA08 should also be damn cheap.

Avatars Discovered: Is This Microsoft's Response to Miis?

Since Nintendo announced the Miis, the digital avatars gamers can create for the Wii's Mii Channel, there have been rumors that Microsoft will offer a similar feature for the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. Today, we may be looking at the very first piece of evidence that back up those claims.

Apparently, strategic marketing and research company Intellisponse is conducting a study for Microsoft in regards to digital personas for Xbox Live. According to this study: "Avatars will be used in place of the gamer picture you have today and give you a much more lifelike, animated, and fully customizable persona for you to reflect who you are online."

In addition to that description, there was an image attached, which you can see below. The presentation also claims that avatars will be available this holiday for all Xbox Live members and this spring for all new console members.

We were able to verify that Microsoft is indeed a client of Intellisponse, but the descriptions and images could be placeholders for the final product, thus showing only one of the many ideas Microsoft has for such new feature. It's hard to understand why these Avatars won't be rolled out at the same time for all Xbox 360 owners, if the information there is true. We also wonder if these Avatars will be an optional feature, something that will be demanded by those spent money on gamer pictures.

One thing is for sure though, all rumors will be answered next month at the E3 Media & Business Summit.

I have Vegas 2 as well! Great game imo :)).

What's your gamertag? Fancy doing some co-op or multiplayer online?

Yeah, sure. :)) My gamertag is the same as my username here. I'm a bit of a n00b online because I've been playing the story mode mostly since I got my 360. :DUMMY: Regarding COD4 and FIFA08, I've got loads of old PS2 games that I can trade it and get some money to get them. :DD

Don't get GTA.

A price cut :DUMMY:

I'd snap one up in a second if that happened. As it is, it's just a tad too much if I want games with it.

Or I could just save up a bit more...

Yeah, why not? :SS

And guys please add me to your friend's list. :))
Some people will tell you not to get it because it doesn't have all the features that San Andreas did and that there isn't much to do after the story but personally I think there is more replayability in IV than any other GTA...

Overhyped game? Yes
Great game? Yes

Even though it probably isn't as good as some people expected it to be, it is still one of, if not the best game of this generation. I would say it's a must buy.

The controls are clunky, seriously clunky. Them and the camera ruin the game for me.

If they aren't good, then you can't enjoy it.

Speaking of enjoying the game, I just think it's lost the all-important fun aspect that San Andreas, Vice City and GTA III had. They've added a little realism, and it's taken away from the GTA-ness of the game. The storyline, main character and setting don't help to add to the fun, because they're seriously dreary.

But hell, that's just my opinion. Perhaps saying 'don't get GTA' is too strong, because you probably should to form your own opinions of it.

Don't get GTA? Madness. It's one of the best games I've played, easily. It's a must-buy in my opinion.

FIFA 08 preowned is a complete ripoff at game. I went into 3 different GAMEs in London and each were selling second hand FIFA 08 for 39.99. Absolutely-fucking-retarded.
