Okay, now that I've bought enough new sockets to get my bedroom kitted out and got the speakers up on the walls, time for a mini-review.
The first time I heard them in Forza, I didn't think much of them. Normal sound, to me nothing special. You could hear what was on the left and what was on the right but you could do that before. Then I accidentally ran into the back of someone and BANG, I shat myself. I wasn't prepared for the shock of how realistic it sounded, all together. That's when I realised something, and it wasn't something I've ever thought about before; everything is supposed to sound normal, otherwise it wouldn't sound ... normal. But when you hit something, or something explodes, or a bullet flies past when you were trying to be stealthy, the sound is immense. Completely realistic, always shocking, brilliant.
Games like Call Of Duty 4 are fantastic with it, but what impressed me the most with these so far has been the films and the music. The speech on films is incredible, usually there will be a few times someone says something and I can't hear what they've just said (and the missus has to sit there and answer "what did he just say" over and over again). Not with these, on Dolby PLII Movie. Every word is crisp, it's like another world. And the music is the same, every individual track, the drums, the bass, you can hear and seperate perfectly. I wandered into the living room before and when I heard the sound coming out of it (normal TV with a subwoofer on the back, no external speakers), I could not believe how muffled it sounded. I can't go back to that now, I've been spoilt.
And I've already done that stupid thing of thinking a sound is outside when it's quietly coming out of one of the back speakers. There was a background conversation going on in Goodfellas and I genuinely, honestly thought it was two people outside my window (I live in a street packed with old biddies, it could happen).
I would recommend them in a heartbeat, extra-dimensional for games, fantastic for music and life-changing for films (I honestly can't believe the difference when I try to listen to speech on a normal TV now). Very, very happy.
(I cannot find a single fault on them, how's that for a Jack Bauer record?)
EDIT: Okay I'll ruin that now, the stands are ridiculous, they only rotate one way - anti-clockwise, stops at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock - and you can't tilt the speaker up or down, which is a terrible design flaw. But I've just screwed small wooden beams in where I want them and then screwed the speakers to that so that they face exactly where they should be. :mryellow:

Mate get the small white Netgear router (dunno the model type). It's cheap, real nice-looking and the best I have ever used. We give them to everyone where I work because they are so good.
Dags, as metioned I got this router (wireless version) wen I joined Sky, but found it shite, so I bought a belkin one, the adsl model of the cable version I used to have and its been perfect for me - and I hard cabled my house up borrowing a few bits from work!
So now I'm all hard wired which is 100% reliable.Anyway, the bottom of the story is, I have one of these netgear routers just lying around, so could post it up to you if you want?

Can't believe you guys give it such good reviews, I found it a complete pile of shite! Kept disconnecting me and throwing me off every 20 mins or so. Maybe it's good for BT but not Sky? I just assumed it was cheap crap coz I got it free! :lol:

I use a Belkin Wireless router and Shi-tiscali.... I havent had any problems at all!!!

The Netgear DG834G was the best modem I ever had. I had to switch to this shitty free Linksys one when I moved to Be Internet, and it reboots whenever your speed goes over 400kb/s for a prolonged period (i.e. a minute).
If I could afford the Netgear DG834GT (which copes with ADSL2+ lines, like Be provide), I would get it in a heartbeat. Never, ever let me down. Ever. And I'm the hardest man to please since Henry VIII.
EDIT: DJ, the proper derogatory term for Tiscali is Tiscally. Because they're a bunch of fucking scallies (chavs if you're a southerner).

Rock Band will be £120, the £80 I will bung in the savings account. The one I have works, I just have to make sure I don't stress it out. :lol:
I can wait until somewhere reduces the price of it, I refuse to pay out so much money for something I already have and that works most of the time.

Without that centre speaker the speech wouldn't be so good. If I lost it everything would sound muffled. So yeah, personally, it's worth it for me.

Turning Point demo out now on Marketplace (if you can get past the "Xbox Live information cannot currently be retreived" error I keep getting for everything since the Christmas Live blackouts - if you keep retrying you will get in eventually).

Weird I was getting the error today as well. Tried the demo, I think its awful. Feels stiff, graphics are PS2 standard and the realism is very poor. I kept shooting a guy who was hiding but there seemed to be an invisible wall in front of me so he couldnt get hit. I think the hit boxes are faulty.

I have my 360 going through an Argos amp (£60!) and two Sony speakers from my old hifi. It sounds amazing though!

So they could use the one you're sending me and sell the one they have (which is probably still worth a fair bit!) and everyone's happy, right? No, she can't be bothered changing routers again! Mate, just get the router anyway and replace it with the one you got without them knowing. I very much doubt they'll notice. By the time they find out they'll realise it is good enough and they're using it anyway. :mrgreen:

Bought Bioshock day it was released, completed it in 2 weeks. Great game. Borrowed FEAR from my brother and got bored with it quite quickly. Used to own Saints Row and played it to death. Didn't like Dead Rising much either. Took Skate back aswell, too frustrating.
