Microsoft Xbox 360

im thinking of selling my PJ and getting a 45"-50" screen

you can pick a good one up for £800-£1000

Timeshift demo also on Singapore Marketplace, downloading but I'm not expecting to be impressed TBH ;)

I noticed NHL08 on the UK Marketplace, that's new as well isn't it?

For some lucky people they don't, for some unlucky people they do......

I bought mine second hand from a guy on a Singapore gaming forum, got it in March as I recall, he'd had it replaced in September 06, it's still going strong, gets used every day, up to 8 hours per day, no problems so far, key (hopefully ;)) is to keep it laid flat and not block the back/sides/top I have it sat on the middle shelf of a TV stand where a VCR or DVD player would normally go, be helpful to keep the area dust free, which reminds me I need to hoover round there ;)

I have no warranty with mine so when/if I get RROD I'll just do the Xclamp replacement myself to hopefully fix it, it seems that in most cases once you've correctly done the Xclamp replacement it's a permanent fix.......

Mass Effect goes into effect Nov. 20

Labor Day weekend is so close I can taste it, and it tastes like half-price Xbox Live Arcade games! From Saturday the 1st at 5PM PST to 4:59PM PST the next day, Small Arms and Zuma Deluxe will cost you only 400 MS points, while arcade classics Gauntlet and Dig Dug will go for a mere 200

Pay day :D And I still have most of the money from selling my Wii! The Elite with The Darkness and Blue Dragon for £299.99 looks good ... sell both games for £44 at CEX which means an Elite for £255.99 :D

Very tempted ...

Edit: And then I read this:

August Xbox360s Still go RRoD
>> It looks like Xbox360 produced in August 2007 still get the RRoD ... I guess that means still no Falcon motherboards in August (or atleast not all production lines) ... unless MS still didn't solve the issue on this new board, but I doubt that as this issue is costing MS enough already.
From gearlive.com:
Yeah, another one - but there is a bit more to this story. This Xbox 360 has been used for all of 20 minutes. You see, about three weeks ago my old box 360 crashed and was giving me the three Red Lights of Doom. I sent it in for repair, and today I finally got a replacement. This actually is a replacement - they didn't fix the one I sent in, they just sent me a new one. This one happened to have been manufactured on 8/15/2007. Anyway, I got it in the mail, hooked everything up, went through the Dashboard configuration, and started playing a demo. Fatal Intertia. We got tired of that after about ten minutes, and decided to boot up the demo of Stranglehold. We got through the opening sequence when everything froze. Fair enough. I had to manually turn the Xbox 360 off because it wouldn't even respond to the guide button. I turned it back on, and was presented with yes another Three Red Ring Circus.

Fuck me you like to post depressing shite............

;)

I'm seriously thinking of moving up to a Elite, but everytime you post something it's depressing as funk, its like, hang onto my Premium cause it still works and get an Elite to use as a main machine but still have a spare for when it might die.

Haha sorry mate :)

I suppose the RLOD doesn't matter too much as long as you're covered by the three years. I'd feel safer buying an Elite as it has the Zephyr board which SHOULD run cooler and less chance of the RLOD.

But then the new Premiums should have that chipset too. I'm going to some shops after work, I'll check out what prices shops are doing Premiums and Elites for in-store and see how I feel then. I could see myself getting a Premium as its a fair bit cheaper and I dont need the extra 100gb.

Apologies for being the bearer of bad news etc :)

Bought an Elite from HMV with Blue Dragon and Moto GP 07 for £299.99 :D Gonna sell/trade the two games as I don't really want them, I believe CEX will give me £44 for both games so its gonna work out I paid £250 for the console itself, pretty nice :)

I like how I've managed to download my Gamertag details and kept all my achievements :D

AND, I didn't realise this when I had my first 360, my Visa Electron card can be used to purchase MS Points! I'll be downloading Bomberman tomorrow I think :)

Microsoft chatpad and Halo 3 accessories next week
chatpad.jpg

Next week Microsoft kicks off their month of Halo by finally releasing the chatpad messenger kit (includes chatpad and headset) and the Halo 3 wireless controllers with art designed by Todd McFarlane. The messenger kit will retail for $30 and the Halo 3 controllers will be $60. Microsoft will also start selling the Halo 3 wireless headset for $60 as well.

Oh chatpad, you will bring joy to the thousands of people out there that just can't use their voice to send a message, because as we all know, typing is such a faster form of communication than a simple voicemail. Actually, it's a nice deal for someone who may be vocal cord impaired or has completely lost their mind trying to type a message with the analog stick -- or lost their mind insisting to only type messages with the analog stick. It serves a purpose in the grand scheme ... unlike those stupid Wiimote add-ons.

About the 360 keyboard, does anyone know if the keyboard can be used for games? I mean for example editing player names in Fifa, it's a real chore to use the controller to choose B,e,c,k,h,a,m for example, can we just use this keyboard to type?

Yes I know, but does their functionality only extend as far as writing messages to people or does their functionality extend ingame as per the example above?

I am having no problems with my Elite...buy it :) keep it well ventilated and you will have no problems!
