Why they'd launch their own console - no doubt they looked at the massive profits Sony were bringing in and thought 'we'll help ourselves to that'

So they just care about the money - so thats why they just churned out a shoddy console and thats why they'll churn out another one soon, dump the 360 completely and try and get the jump on the PS4 again
 
Its bad news really for the games industry

becuase if a new "360" comes out soon and is alot better than the PS3 (which it should be seeing as the 360 is on par) will the PS3 get as much games development as it is now?

i doubt it, why would you make games for a weaker machine?
 
PS2 games like barbie stuff, board gmes on ps2 discs and crappy racing games you wouldnt pay a pound for!

If they did bring a new 360 out all that would happen would be devs would still give us equal games to save time and money so the 360 owners would be moaning the PS3 is holding the new 360 back instead of the other way around as it is now. The only people who would use the consoles power as much as they could would be exclusive titles and they're fading fast.

I am selling all my old PS1 and PS2 stuff on eBay. Hopefully, I will raise at least a little bit of money that will contribute towards my new console. Btw, as a 16 year old gamer, should I go for the Elite console or the Premium console? :THINK:
 
Premium all the way IMHO.

Elite's only benefit is that it has a 120GB HD, and comes with a HDMI optical thingy-bob for surround sound.

All the new Premiums and Elite are the same inside. They both have HDMI as well.

The ONLY difference is the elite is black and differnt peripherals with it.

actually the new ones have a smaller psu 175w and also has a new falcon chipset, which is supposed to run cooler etc

there are a newer version coming out which is called jasper, which should be an improvement again

but what this does tell you , they are still trying to improve things and the first ones were obviously rushed
 
my shitbox will not play gta for longer than 10 mins without disc unreadable now.

this is the NEW drive they put in the other month...so shit.

plays fifa fine tho.

Just got a Premium 360 from Woolies. How do I tell if it is one with the new Falcon chip or whatever its called?

It is a noisy bugger compared to the PS3 I had a loan of.

Did I read somewhere I have 3 years warranty? Not the 1 year it says in the box?

Liking FIFA 08 on it. I dont notice any difference on FIFA 08 from the PS3, apart from the fact I need to get used to the controller.

@ the guy who asked if the Elites are not prone to RROD... Unfortunately mine did that after just 4 months of owning it, since having it back from MS its been fine.

PS3 Elite Version? well isnt there meant to be a PS3 with a 120GB Hard Drive coming? with a Dual Shock 3 bundled as standard?

You can check by looking on the side for it to saw 175W Power Output, or if it has if it has HDMI. Don't worry, all new 360s are now Falcons.

It noisy as fuck.

Yeah 1 year warranty for any hardware fault, 3 years only if you get RROD.
 
i got a new elite falcon and it was ver quiet, really quiet compared to the other systems i had.. a premium and first elite

but now after having some use, it is alot louder. you can hear the fans going and you can also hear the drive reading away, i also have the benq drive and the laser reading on this is alot worse than the samsung i had in my premium

Depends what sort of games you like?

Football Games - DO NOT get PES in my opinion, FIFA08 is much better this year. I've been a PES fan since I was a little child, but this year fifa owns.

Get Xbox Live, one of the main things you NEED to get if you own a 360.

Shooting games - I suggest you get Call Of Duty:4, Best storyline ever for the 360. Also download the battlefield: Bad company demo on the marketplace when you get it, to test if you like it.

GTA: IV - Great game, over-hyped but it's still a great game

Racing - GRID, arcade style with drifting and demolition derbies.
If you're looking to get a more realistic, great graphics get PGR or Forza

That's all I can say for now.
 
Is Burnout Revenge work getting? What about Assasin's Creed, Orange Box, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 etc?
