Microsoft Xbox 360

shopto.net are pretty good

play.com has Premium's for £230 too

I got my Elite from HMV with two games for £300

Are there any good Live Arcade multiplayer games (offline that is)?

Just got Bomberman which is a laugh with two players, would like to get a few more if possible.

It looks really cool, what's the feel of the keys like? Presumably you can't type properly on it two handed like a regular keyboard so do you end up using thumbs like with a cell phone? What's the response of the keys? They softish like a keyboard or harder like a cell phone?

Planning to get one but will wait until October, which makes Fifa08's release date an expensive one, Fifa08, Messenger Kit, 1 year Xbox Live Gold :(

Its great the keys click sort of and you can really whiz round it with your thumbs.
its positioned perfectly so you don't lose any grip.
Weights perfect its back-lit so you can see the keys on the dark.
Its just a keyboard but it does everything perfectly and is the perfect size.

Ahhhhh didn't know it was back lit, that's awesome news, I tend to play in the bedroom with the lights off so it'd be a hassle having to turn them on and such :)

It is decidely rubbish, did anyone play Shox on the PS2, its like that, while the whole track degradation thing is good, it only really means your controller rumbles more. Looks rubbish and plays not alot better, if you really want it, wait till this comes down in price, it will be on offer well before Christmas I reckon, or a it'll be an 18 quid title in Jan.

Toys R Us and GameFly deals before the holiday flood

CheapAssGamer points the way this week to two retailers that have consistently brought on the great gaming deals: Toys R Us and GameFly. Toys R Us apparently took their famous "Buy 2 get the 3rd game free" deal underground this week. It's going on right now without a flyer being produced for last Sunday's papers -- a first as far as we're aware. Maybe they're testing to see if the web does the work for them? The deal is both online and in the stores. We're just completely baffled why TRU said nothing about the event we're consistently excited for whenever it happens. Some are even rumoring that this could be a two-week deal and that it'll actually be advertised this Sunday, so get in now before the general populace finds out. They are also doing a "buy one, get one accessory 50% off deal." No word yet if you could work the Circuit City MS point angle on that.

If you don't know about GameFly's store, well let us inform you about another hidden gem of value on these intertubes. According to CAG, this week GameFly is offering free shipping to non-subscribers who purchase select used games. GameFly subscribers always get free shipping. The purchased used games are sent with the original case and manual practically untouched. Save as much money as you can while feeding the need for gaming. The storm is coming.

Some Xbox Live Arcade games get price cuts

Have you found yourself staring at the Xbox Live Marketplace, considering buying Frogger, but with your thumb just hovering over the A button, unwilling or unable to confirm your purchase? "If only Frogger was 300 points instead of 400 points, then I could do it! But right now ... I just don't know." To you, we say this: Stop being so cheap, it's only $1.25. But we also say "Good news! Frogger's about to go on sale."

On Wednesday, The World's Most Squishable Amphibian® and Hardwood Spades will both be cut from 400 to 300 points, while Bankshot Billiards 2 goes from 1200 to 900. If Your Royal Cheapness is interested, you may want to act quick though, the prices will only last until the following Tuesday. Wednesday will also mark the arrival of new content for Bomberman, the "Bomb-Up Pack 2" for 250 points. ... Hmm, sounds like somebody's Halo 3 coasting.

Premiums with HDMI are now making there way into the UK market anyhow, friend who works in Game has taken a delivery of them this week.

Sounds good.

Is there any need to buy an Elite console then? I know its only £50 extra, but i doubt i'd use all 20 GB.

I never really used the 20gb when I had a Premium. When I bought my new 360, I went for an Elite as I knew I'd definately get a newer board and it'd be more reliable.

With the new Premium's coming in ... unless you want the extra HDD space or the black casing, you might as well stick with the Premium I guess.

Oh cheers.

Have Microsoft sorted out that "red light of death" thingy?

Does your 1 year manufactures guarantee cover that anyway?

I think people are still getting the RLOD on older 360's. I believe some people have had them on newer models but those reports seem pretty low and I've hardly heard any RLOD stories since the new chipset was released.

MS are also giving an extra 3 year warranty on RLOD's too, standard 1 year warranty for other stuff.

My 360 gave me the 3 red lights in june - i took that back got a replacement one (a new console) and that gave me the 3 red lights in august ... i took that back and less than a week later that one started locking up on me (but no RLOD) so i just took it back and got a ps3

Radiation.. thats a shame mate. If only your 360 was more reliable eh?

PS3's arent 100% bullet proof though, my housemate did the recent Firmware update. It all went 100% done and ok and when it tried to reboot it couldnt.... Bricked PS3 by all accounts!
