Hi,

Someone I know has a PS2 Slim model and I've offered him a MC2ISO device which allows to boot games out of SD cards (be sure to buy a compatible card !).
Overall it's quite good, most of the games I tried (about 30-35) run quite well except few odd ones (ex : the weakest link ahah).

For someone who have no possibility to boot the games out of a hard drive, it's much better than USB and have an advantage over SMB : you can connect to the Internet if you want to play few of the games which are still playable online.

For 20-25 bucks, it's an awesome device !

Seriously you didn't know about that new hack?
I own plenty of those memory card and some SD cards since one year and a half.

I was a bit pissed with the USB issues like cinematics or 3d "pre-rendered" sequences lagging way too much, a real issue for game with a bit of adventure, but it's a thing from the past now. Now there's even an hardware mod HDMI PS2 which boost graphisms and many stuff called PixelFX RetroGem. It work also on N64, for the others console i didn't searched.

Back to the thread : i always had MX4SIO, never tried the MC2SIO. Now, before buying one of these things on Ali's good friend house, be careful because there's 2 models :

The best version is the one reading SD card "TF", with MX4SIO adapted, it support any size of card.
Also it's in exfat so you don't have to cut every 4 gb + games with a tool. Exfat format takes all size like NTFS but not as fast as when you will add some iso, that's all and who cares. The first versions to plug USB didn't supported Exfat and it was upper boring to cut every big sized games.

Now at Ali's house practically all package got the memcard supporting TF SD card (i don't know why but the one who created that tool-hack said it's way better), it's harder to found one old not supporting TF SD than the best MX4SIO.

Ah yes one advice : before installing iso on it, it's better to format with "Rufus", it's a formating tool who erase even partitions. I got some problems with a Raspberry and an USB, because those games tooked too much size, so impossible to launch, the Raspberry stopped to work for no reason when you play...
Before, i formatted my USB and SD with SD Formatter, but now it's always with "Rufus Formatter". Also don't forget that it doesn't support CHD type of games.

I didn't tried to format the 2 SD i own for my PS2, as it's working perfectly. But it's affecting some Android machine or perhaps PC, i don't know. Perhaps it makes it faster to transfers an iso, no idea.
