When I search by nationality, the Japan squad only has 7 players available... on the edit menu/exhibition mode there is a full Japan team... why?
 
gerrard and lampard ar in clubs, beckham is not, you can buy only players registered to club
 
some players appear randomly i youth squads from different teams
it happened to me with Beckham maybe because he was pretty close to retiring
