Manchester United Thread

I loved every momment, except for the very last minute ofcourse ;)

Im obviously devastated, but lets be honest - Man Utd deserved to win easily. I just wish they didnt leave it to the last minute!

After some therapy though Im very confident we can go through. Man Utd have been awful away from home this year in Europe, and with Milan only needing a goal I can see it happening. Im actually more comfortable trailing 3-2 than if it were 2-2. The team knows what we have to do and that benefitted us against Bayern in the last round.

All I know is that the second leg will be a totally different match. I certainly hope we produce like Man Utd did tonight.

Great match guys, and if you do beat us I'll definately be supporting you guys in the final. Awesome football team.

Manchester united totally deserved the win! Who cares what happens the mara nite! No-one can handle united! madly weakened team and still awesome ....RESPECT...:applause:
 
Every team in europe knows we always score goals and about the speed of our counter attacks.That is our current key strengths and last night was again,the very example of it.

Our depleated defence was cruelly exposed too.Wes Brown got sucked out of position for the two goals we conceded.Look at the replays and you lot will notice.Heinze was superb but didnt do enough for those two goals.He was there alright but just didnt do enough.Hard luck.

Our midfield worked extra hard all game but didnt look composed at times.Again,Darren Fletcher stood out,immense performance from him.Where have his doubters gone to now? If only he could stick that volley in.Scholes worked hard too but Carrick and Giggs gave away possession too many times for my liking.Ronaldo was nullified to say the least.

Rooney was in the list of 13 players described in this month's FourFourTwo whom has the ability to change games at the right moment,with the right touch.He truly justified that tag last night.Incredible performance,never gave up and ran his socks off.

Taking two away goals to the San Siro will be tough but as long as we score and protect our one goal lead,that should be enough to book a place in the finals.

We better have a stronger defence for that game though. Kaka made them look like a joke.
 
Kaka took the piss out of our make-shift 'defence' but second-half Milan got the Zimmer frames out - their old men simply couldn't handle us in the middle of the park and up-front. Great match guys, good luck in the second-leg Milan you are a joy to watch! :)

Evra is suspended for the return, and if you play like you did in Rome you are fooked.

So whats you defence going to look like for the 2nd Leg? Milan will be fancying their chances with the score as it is.
 
I personally think those 2 away Goals that Milan have got will come back to haunt us. Unless we score and really go at them and play as if we are the home team in the San Siro I dont think we will make it through.

Certainly we need to sort out why we're rubbish away from home. Copenhagen comes to mind...

Any chance of Saha and Ferdinand being back? That would offer some much needed support!
 
Sod Saha but Rio being back would be good :) When Saha plays up top the attacks normally break down when he gets the ball. He is all arms and legs and cant control the ball for shit!

Anyone follow our reserves team well enough who the likely stand in would be presuming Rio's not back? Or would we just move Smith into the line up and take Fletch back to RB?
 
yeah mate sean evans is a great player, hes a midfielder but hes been playing in defence for the reserves and playing well, kieran lee is a good defender too
 
If Rio was playing, I doubt we would have conceded that second goal. We almost HAVE to have him back for that second game. No one else in our squad is as big and strong on the ground like Rio.

Whatever happens, I hope we see a game as good as the last. Whoever it is, I hope the best team wins and goes on the lift the cup.

100% agree.

The way Man Utd played has really won me over. The way they were so committed to attack was amazing to see, even when Milan looked in control. So much heart and class was shown in moments, it took my breathe away. You can say all you want about Scholes, Rooney and Ronaldo, imo Giggs was immense. He has so much quality in his overall game.

I really think the winner out of this game will win the whole thing. Im very confident we will go through, but Im sure you guys are too. Losing 3-2 away from home is a great result. This season in Europe travelling to Old Trafford has been the most difficult away match for any team. Usually I would say Anfield, but this season Man Utd have produced some of the best attacking football Ive ever seen.

In that respect Im pleased to score 2 away goals. I mean, Id be very scared if the first leg was in Milan and we won 3-2. Away goals are vital these days.

I predict we'll win 2-1 in Milan. Im positive we'll score, but im also sure Man Utd will score aswell. We will need 2 goals at least.
 
After watching the other crap that is left in the competition, United so deserve this for their displays alone this season. If Chelsea win the Premiership with their God-awful football I will be absolutely gutted. :(
