Manchester United Thread

that was the problem, because in the game against Lison, he destroyed us, the game against Bolton when he came on, he destroyed them, and against Millwall in the FA Cup Final he destroyed them, but it was knowing he had that much ability, and then watching every game as he played worse and worse, that made me think he's shit

but my my, what a way to prove everyone wrong this year, un-fucking-stoppable that boy is

i dont recall him ever getting worse and worse... i recall flashes of brilliance and him being 18..... and me saying all along he is awesome and he will be awesome... if you couldnt see the potential then i just dont know what to say...

I could see the potential, everyone could, but it got to a point where I never thought it was going to come (I usually have a limited amount of faith and patience), he'd have one or two amazing games in a and for the 36 or so other games, he'd just be shite

If you judged him based on around 40 games, it means you judged him after only one season's worth of matches. Which isnt a smart thing to do when you're talking about a 18 year old.

I'm not their agent, you only need to see them play. I've seen Lennon. Nani, Ronaldo, Quaresma and Simão (a little older though) are all way better.

I've never rated Lennon to be honest. We just get linked to these guys so the writers can sell their papers.

Lennon is okay, what he gives you is speed and threat down the flanks. What he lacks now is the cutting edge but that will come when he matures as a player.

I didnt mean one season, I meant one seasons worth of games. Obviously he didnt play every game in a season.
The point is, he's way too young to write off.

Who thinks we will win the league? I know this maybe a bit premature as 8 games remain including a trip to the Bridge (god I would lovvv it if we beat them!!!) but what do you guys reckon? I think we have been in this position before so SAF knows what to expect and what to do. I think we will be celebrating come May :)

We're not there yet. Closer, but not yet. I could very well see us dropping points to Blackburn, with international burnout and what not. Pederson always seems to score against us...and we can't forget McCarthy's goal from a few years back can we...

That said, we can technically still lose 2/8 and still win it, so you've gotta say the finish line is approaching. The key will eb if Chelsea go undefeated. Which they could.

Loving Hargreaves, not just for being a good footballer, but for being clever, see his articel on bbc:
What are you favourite stadiums: Lists Old Trafford
Who's the best player you've played with: Paul Scholes

hehehe

^ Well he has expressed his desire to play for Man United and I for one hope his wish gets granted this summer. Id love to see him in our Midfield.

Hargreaves is a class act, he doesn't stop running. United need that sort of engine in midfield because Carrick/Scholes are not that sort of player. Bring him to Old Trafford Fergie! He has served Bayern well for as long as I can remember, it's time for them to let him come home, just like we will have to let Ronny go one day.

As much as I want him at United, I'd still rather have someone who can attack like Scholes. Ballack should have been that player but that never worked out.

That's exactly what Essien said before he went to Chelsea, although he said the best player he's seen was Scholes as he'd never played with him.

notice that Hargreaves was shit (okay, the whole team was shit but still....) in recent England games?

Give him a break though, he is just back from injury and few players go right back into their form straight away.

would anyone happen to know exactly where gate 43N is?

I'd guess at the North Stand, but where exactly? please tell me it's not in the top tier (I think it might be)

:lmao: i remember my first time sitting in the north stand, it was against lyon( fergie's 1000th match ) 3rf tier up, you would of needed a bootle of oxygen ye are that high:lmao: but last time i was at ot, which was in december v city, i was sitting in the quadrant, which i must say was a very nice leather seat i had.

Your first time at OT matherto?

Yes, it's the North Stand. Enjoy! :)

nope, definately not, just it's been a long time since I've been in the North Stand, and I've just got a horrible feeling its in the top tier, I vowed never to repeat the trek up the 25-30 flights of stairs

I've only been that high up once and it was a shit view. At the time they were playing Keane, Beckham, Silvestre, Veron and Brown. They all had bald heads and it was difficult to tell who was who. It was a bastard climbing those stairs as well. Give me the old Stretford End paddock anyday.

Those twats over at Madrid still think Kaka and Ronaldo are going to join them.

let them think it;) there not getting ronaldo for sure, why would he want to leave the best team in the world, to go to a team full of underachievers who still think they'll win everything.
