under achieving eh? 1 fa cup and 1 european cup and if you want to be really pedantic a super cup and two charity shields in three years. Not bad for an underachieving side. And if you want to go back further we are littered with silverware. League wise yeah we've been under achieving since 1992, but before that...

And lets just remember, you lot are coming to the same stage we were at in 1991, the last lot of an amazing crop of players and the ending of a top managers career. Things go around in circles matey just remember that.

Enough of the slagging,them Scousers know deep down inside that their team have failed them again this season.Maybe,maybe not as they still have a chance in the Champions League.We are still talking about the Treble though.The chance at the REAL Treble,not the Mickey Mouse Treble that some team in red won a couple of season back.

cups are cups. Did that mickey mouse treble include the cup you won last year? i seem to remember you lot celebrating that quite rigorously.

Anyway, i know we havent challenged and Benitez has next year i reckon to mount one, if not its gonna become difficult for him because he hasnt quite grasped the prem.

Interestingly enough, I read on FoxSoccerChannel that Ronaldo came out and said that he is flat out not interested in playing for Real Madrid, and is happy at Manchester United, I'm really impressed with how much he's grown up in the past year, really becoming a class act :) He's still got his attitude (as we can see in interviews XD), but he's becoming much more of a team player, as demonstrated with his instrumental 3 assists against Bolton.

I don't pop into these threads very often but I've just read THIS interview with Jonathan Woodgate over the (6,543rd) "Cristiano dived" incident.

It's not very often you'll see a headline like that. If only all footballers were as honest...

"Boro boss Gareth Southgate said he was unsure whether the penalty should have been awarded, but Woodgate is convinced Ronaldo did not dive.

He explained: "I don't know if it was a penalty but Ronaldo is a very clever player, one of the best in the world.

"Whether it was a penalty or not I don't know, I couldn't honestly tell myself.

"But I don't think he dived so you can't blame him."

Alternatively you could say well done Woodgate for having the balls and maturity to see past the usual witch hunt around Ronaldo, and actually come out against the diving claims. If anyone should know its him, now isn't it.

If only Gareth had that kind of class.

Well you could. But Woodgate doesnt say that he tripped him or made contact in that report, he just says he doesnt think he dived. Thats whats confusing. He either tripped him or didnt.

not necessarily. Sometimes there can be accidental contact. He doesn't think he dived but he didn't deliberately trip him. Simple as that really.

That's been big news around here, but the gk already said he didn't really mean it.

Any way, the Portuguese football federation already expressed their concerns to UEFA and if anything, this will only ignite Ronaldo and Portugal to play even better. I'm hoping for a slaughter, 5-0. :)

I don`t care if C.Ronaldo cheated or not! I don`t want to see those fuggers kick a fan and get away with it(they-(pricks in blue) could of stab him w/ a knife and it would`ve been called a suicide).I rather xxxUxd lift the FA and watch them cry w/ snot running down their noses. The problem now is this assumption of intent thats creeped in this season> gerrard gets a pen at sheff utd because of intent even though he wasnt touch, it happens to ronaldo a lot like at Boro and you get it with berbatov against Chelsea.

THOSE ARE NOT PENALTIES.

Pens should be when real contact is made, theres a massive danger that footy becomes less contact because of those rules, and people bend the laws to gain an advantage.

That's the referees job. If he thought it was deliberate there would have been a card, but the 'accident' still stopped a goal scoring opportunity so it was a penalty.

Still think Gerrard's wasn't a pen though,;)
