Manchester United Thread

Everyone knows Sourness was overworking the newcastle players doing strange regimes. As soon as Reoder took over the injuries stopped coming so fast. Maybes its the scottish way to make them do unnatural things on the training ground. As for liverpool, maybe I got a short memory but I don't remember them having any injury crisis to shout about.

Oh yeah I'm not good with internet code langauge so can someone tell me what is this 'pfft' I keep hearing mean?

pfft, its not always you. Think about Newcastle last year, and Liverpool

It is always us. The last 3 seasons at least, we've had a lot of injuries. The fact that it also happens to other teams doesn't mean it doesn't happen to us.

ok....many teams dive as it was pointed out before...we all tend to turn a blind eye on our own players..well, for obvious reasons...(when we weren't cheering for Portugal this summer, alot of you pointed out how easily he fell...more often than at Man Utd...hahaha) so...there's no point in arguing and defending....unless we do like a stat sheet with all the dives by everyteam and see which one has more....LOL (the EPL top 4 will have quite a bit there)

as for injuries...Liverpool were plagged..but luckily for them, not their main players were injured...and it was for only short periods of time i believe.....we have alot more and many of them are important players to our team....

The best formation to face the Goons come sunday.

I'm tempted to agree Phrase, though could also use a 442:
-----------VDS---------------
-Gary--Rio----wes----Silvestre
------O'Shea/Carrick--------
--Ole/Fletcher------Ronaldo-
-------Scholes-----------
--Rooney-----Saha--------

I was seriously unimpressed by Rooney's temperament in the Celtic game, looked annoyed at everything, not a good sign. Hopefully fergie will have calmed him down a bit, cause we can't afford to have him sent off!

Rooney will be better against the Gooners as someone said before he loves scoring and playing against them!

Any news on whether Henry will make it? if he doesnt at least we will only have to watch out for Thomas Rosicky who is something of a danger man.

I reckon it will be a 4-4-2 still, somewhere along the lines of -

-------------------VDS-----------------
Neville-------Rio-------Brown----Silvestre/Evra
Ole/Fletch---Scholes----Carrick-----Ronaldo
--------------Rooney-----Saha

itd better not be Silvestre

Actually I think you're right, against a team with little height (outside of adebayor) Evra is probably a better option - plus he can peg back the RMF with his overlapping runs. Plus Silvestre can always come off the bench if necessary, that's one thing I will give him - he doesn't seem to need much time to get going in a game, unlike a lot of defenders.

Are you really that naive to say that if Henry doesn't play then Rosicky is our only dangerman?

who else? hleb? guy cant hit the side of the barn with his shots, same for frabegas, who is gonna score? or are you counting on a dive from eboue or van persie?

Silvestre is a more physical player which will be important in this game. Evra would be better brought on late once their players are tired.

Yeah, which is always a huge plus. We'll need Silvestre to keep it tight and although he wont attack that much (which would be a risk for obvious reasons), he's still a much bigger threat during corners compared to Evra.

I'd personally go 4-3-3 with this team.

-------------------VDS-----------------
Neville-------Rio-------Brown----Silvestre
-----------------------------------------
-----Fletcher/O'Shea-Carrick-Scholes--------
-----------------------------------------
--Rooney-------Saha------Ronaldo---

We dont need to be fancy, we just need something tried and tested. I'd probably go for O'Shea over Fletch cuz Fletcher's main advantage over O'Shea is his attacking and we could get that from Scholes. O'Shea would be more disciplined to stay back and cover alongside Carrick leaving Scholes to free roam behind the front three. Plus, Gary would provide the long balls that Fletcher "tries" to give. Once players are tired, bring on Evra to trouble the gooners. If Ronaldo is still on the left, it would give him that motivation to find his second wind and link up with Evra. Ronaldo has shown at times that he could find that little bit extra in him if he's motivated enough. Another good point is Ronaldo could move more central once Evra comes on.

Anything less than a draw and I'll be really gutted cuz we have a genuine chance here to send a strong message out to Chelsea and Liverpool.

yeah...if liverpool does well in the morning....we will be even more motivated!!! hahahaha......

but yeah...i still say go with O'Shea and Silvestre...(never thought i would've said that)....but this is a very important game which sends a strong msg not just to Chelsea, but to the whole league!!! PLUS, we are known to do well in big games...so we should be fine!!!

Henry and Van Persie is really really likely not to play!!!...so other than Rosicky, Baptista would be another i would be prepared to mark tight on...i know that he hasn't been doing well lately nor has he adapted to the EPL playing style yet....but i'd rather be safe than sorry....you never know when he might get that little push to do well....

I'm quite curious to see how would The Beast Baptista adapt to the Premiership and in his first real crunch match against us.This Arsenal might be weaker than those we have faced in the past but I wouldnt doubt their ability. We should win this one but they still deserve at least an outside chance.

Hargreaves got injured today, i bet he really wishes he'd gone to Manchester..
He'd probably be wishing the same thing even if he wasnt injured. Its Bayern who didnt want to let him go.

We are playing fucking crap!what is with us? are we crackers or what?! we have just seen Chelsea Luckily beat the Scousers and yet we play like that! Saha what the fuck is with him? can he not control a football? Ronaldo should stop taking stupid free kick shots which go no where and start playing with his team mates again. We had better sort it out in the 2nd half!

Fergie must have been drunk when he selected to play O'Shite in midfield and fletcher on the right. we had to wait til the 75min for carrick and Ole to come on, when they should have started.

Once again Rooney played shit and our passing was beyond shit. Arsenal were the better team and deserved to win. But Fergie is a idiot for some of the decisions he makes.

My only question was who was more useless: O'Shea, Evra or Rooney. It was a tough call.

We gave that game to arsenal, they shouldn't have had any opportunites, playing a 4-5-1 with just adebayor up front, but instead we gifted them time and time again. Terrible game for United, brings us right back down to earth, and reminds fergie that DMF would probably have been a good call.

No I'm not knockinh fletcher, I think he has done ok for us this season, he may not be the most gifted, but he works his ass off. But his best position is centre midfield, on the right wing he comes in too much and leaves the team with no width. It wasnt the best decision to put him there. But O'shite, well he is just a lazy waste of space.

We pay nearly 18million for defensive midfielder, only to leave him on the bench for O'shite to play. Fergie you dumb ass, when will you learn!!You dont rest your important players for big occasions, this wasnt reading or wigan.
