Manchester United Thread

let me get this straight: we just got a player for a year, in exchange for two reserves players going the other way permanently? WTF is that? Is SAF in charity mode with Bryan Robson?

Ah, gotcha, yep 1 year loan, 4 year deal. Weird. People seem to really rate this kid, hvaen't seen much of WBA last year, anyone's thoughts on if he's the next VDS?

Not sure to be honest...
He won a poll for save of the season, and then made a Taibi like error for Poland (which cost him a starting place for the WC), where the opposing GK cleared the ball & it bounced over him into the goal.

I'd have prefered us to have kept Foster to be honest

In my opinion Kuszczak is very good goalkeeper. I agree, he made horrible error with Columbia, but I think this is good decision for ManU.

Adriano is a hell of a player, and would be a great deal if he comes to United!...He is a class player and this could cut down the lack of stars in front(after loosing Ruud)! He has great physique, unique left foot, and he's unhappy with Internazionale!!!

He's not unhappy because of Inter, he's unhappy because hes been shit. Inter started him every game and he didnt score a goal for almost 3 months. He's a hog, he's lazy and he cant score for shit. He's overrated and overpriced. Its as bad as signing Zlatan but more expensive.

I'm very sad today... That shitey Kusczak joined Manchester United... I still remember Colombia vs Poland...

1 big mistake for how many good saves ?

I think its a good signing, he was bastard to score against if I remember right when United played WBA last season at Old Trafford, hope he keeps that up

Will Ferg be putting a strong team out for tommorow ?, hopefully Rooney and Ronaldo reunite on the pitch!

How many big mistakes did Schmeichel make? I can remember a few in his time but he went on to be an absolute legend! dont write Kuszcak off because of that WC howler. I remember Schmeichel slicing a kick out against Barnsley of all teams in an FA Cup Tie! Then John Hendrie scored a simple tap in past him!

Everybody only remembers that season he was on fire, but haven't seen his recent exploits.
Add to those problems that he's got a huge ego and expects to start every match, which is never gaurenteed with United.
I hope he isn't in our plans, and he doesn't seem like the type of signings we make.

But he's better than Zlatan!

Papers have been reporting we're favorites to sign Diarra, I have my doubts about that though as he seems intent on going to Madrid.

He's kinda like Drogba. You can clearly see that Drogba has all the ability in the world and can be a serious threat when at his best and I think Adriano is probably the same. If he can 'click' with the right team (and be arsed to do something), he can be deadly IMO.

IMO your front would be class with him. But it is true that sometimes his head is somewhere else than in the games.

But saying he is as bad as Zlatan... like always great potential but no real brains for footie.

im happy we snapped up koosh-ak [cant spell his name] lol hes a quality keeper. hes one for the future like pique evans and martin are....

id love the rojo diablos to sign adriano! :)

i really want us to get torres though....el nino would fit in at united. i think adriano could fit in to man utd's set up.

wouldnt mind tevez signing either...nother great striker.

What a day in my life , Old Trafford is definately the theatre of Dreams, my days damn i was starstruck and dumbfounded!

On the game its was marvelous United went for it second half, alves and Navas did not look all of that. Kan kan had some good touches. lol maresca that diving ????

United - Solid display, although oshea and silvestre looked a bit dodgy, ronaldo well still tripping over like a baby but a goal and an assist. It was nice to see the young ones richie, bardsley, jones! steady display from kusqchak. park is a hero an absolute hero! :applause: for big dogs scholesy, giggsy and Ole.

Heinz was not taking shit from that twat fabiano and his hot blooded team mates, lol the atmosphere was great i can only imagine what it will be like on real match days.

A day i'll never forget.

 Saf doing his timing stance

Edit - thanks guys still thinking about my day, damn my kids will have a lot to listen too, \\:o/ say i sat at the east stand turnstile E35 / E237 seat 76 row 1 right behind the goal great view infact marvelous view, the woman who sat next to me was friendly loved the banter and her swearing  she is 50 and has been an OT reg since the age of 17, now thats dedication!

lol the tram back to manch picc was ace there were some kids taking the piss out of chavs lol a chav saying burberry is too chav :lmao:, Also the united shirts in the megastore at 55 quid were selling faster than the hot pies around the stadium.

ohh also shit the OT turf is lush i was admiring the warm up between alves and navas they were passing the ball slickly on the turf!

I envy you PK9.Old Trafford,Manchester still remains to be one of my dream destination to visit.Right on,It was a good win but the scoreline was a bit flattering.I was expecting a closer match but Sevilla were not penetrating enuff. They had a crap first half and a mediocre second.I dont know what the fuss on Daniel Alves was all about. There are other RB that are worth mentioning than that bugger.I thought Jesus Navas was their best player all night.Disappointed not to see Maresca start.Great first and last goals by United, pure counter attacking United of old.Ronaldo was lucky with the second but he sure meant to hit it there.Tomasz Kuszczak had a good debut with a few confident saves. He reminds me of a young Big Pete.Of all the youngsters I am thoroughly impressed with David Jones and I'm glad he is given a first team number,25 previously worn by Quinton Fortune.Bring on a couple of new names and we are ready for Fulham.Cheers~

After watching Sissoko yesterday, and Essien to an extent, it's clear that we still have a massive whole waiting to be filled. Fergie may say he's happy with the team, but after seeing them against Seville then watchin the comm. shield, we're still short a holder, a disrupter as seems to be the new term. O'Shea...sigh.

Despite the 3-0 win I'm actually pretty discouraged with the match. For some reason we still love the long ball, I just don't get it. Seemingly obvious issues that we had last year, that were very apparent in the Seville game (but not oxford):
Silvestre makes massive, gaping, terrifying mistakes (and has just been rewarded with a new contract)
O'Shea is neither a holding midfielder, or a central midfielder (in fact, it's very hard to even notice him on the pitch, which may be because he's cleverly blocking passing lanes, but I'm not convinced)
Ronaldo, Giggs, Park and Saha (and rooney when playing) are all players that want the ball at their feet. Hence it seems pretty sensible to me to stop VDS and Silvestre hoofing the ball up towards them and completely bypassing the midfield. I really feel we'd do a lot better for having some midfield possession, and build up attacking. I hate to say it, but someone send these guys a video of Arsenal from 2 seasons ago!
Park is awesome but needs to learn how look up. He often does really well but just doesn't see the right ball to play after his runs, hopefully he can get over this, but if not his energy seems a bit wasted.
Scholes should not be allowed in his own half. His tackling is absurd, and he's infinitely more useful up the pitch a bit. It just seems as though he is running around the cenral midfield area not really adding to anything, when you really want to free him up as an outlet and a bridge between defence and attack, rather than someone to tap the ball back to Mikael for him to boot to the opposing keeper.

I just really hope we get out of this long ball mentality that was developping last year, we're better than that! We have fantastic wingers and massive attacking potential, let's hope we actually see some of it!

I totally understand what you are on about beachryan.I am sure Sir Alex has notified this problem and thats why he went all out and got Michael Carrick. He is the perfect player to bridge the defence and attack and he will make a difference.Marcos Senna will further add stability and composure to our midfield and backline.Momo Sissoko was terrific yesterday and that tackle on Ballack was the highlight of his game.Anyways, where the heck are our fans??

Phrase, are you from Salford?

Salford is next to Manchester and has Manchester post codes so I'm sure he would have visited if he lived there. Not many people here are from Manchester. I am but I now live in Japan.

I wish I lived in Japan, I love those cute Japanese birds!!

Anyway, where do you boys think Utd will finish this season in the Prem?

Honestly, you wouldn't believe how great the girls are here. I see at least 5 pairs of full front knickers a day as they all wear short skirts and ride bicycles. Plus all the giggling school girls on the train wanting to practice English with me. I'm in heaven and never going back to England.
Back on topic though, I think we'll be fighting you for 3rd place as Liverpool and Chelsea will bore everyone and not let goals in. Hard for me to say, but I think the scousers could win it if they beat Chelsea in the league games. I still think Arse and Man Utd will leak important goals against crap opposition and maybe have an off day up front.

Why are you in Japan?? Lucky.

Anyway Rossi has been called by Casiraghi for Italy's under 21. If he proves to be successful his dream of playing for Italy one day may come true.
