Manchester United Thread

Yes just read SAF's comments on sky and bbc, and he is commenting on 'being after a couple more signings - but these things take time'.

I expect another midfielder and a striker for you Mancs. I can see Senna, but i seriously can't see Corinthians letting go of Mascherano. But then again, i could be wrong.

What if you get both Tevez and Mascherano? I remember Tevez being fined by Corinthians for giving a press conference wearing a Man Utd shirt! :applause:

Yeah i heard about that with tevez lol. Recently he had a falling out with the corinthian fans after gesturing to them to be silent after they were booing the team against Fortaleza. I cant see United getting him though. He is very similar to rooney.

if tevez comes, i guess the team will just sit and see tevez and c.ronaldo playing , or maybe the teammates will shout at them for not passing the ball\\:o/

We need team players im afraid, the last thing we need is players who will just run and try and do it all alone!

Yeah just because Chelsea are Premier League Champions at the moment he decides he wants to join them! WTF? I hope he rots in hell on their subs bench coz thats all he is gonna get!

awesome, just awesome, so if this guy can shoot, we basically get a younger version of lampard... now i know why pools defense is so good... look at the tacklers they have in midfield, plus the central midfielders dont give the ball away much

Nice stats, the deal that brings Carrick to United is an initial £13 million and with £5.6 million going on how well United do, England appearances etc, so all in all its not oh so bad.

Id love to know what the other 1 or 2 things Fergie is looking at. Senna and Mascherano have been linked as for a striker I just cant see it being Torres at all. Defoe would be quality but didnt Fergie write that off?

A program called tvants (www.tvants.com) will let you watch the United. game at the moment, not the greatest quality, but not terrible. Rooney shulda have scored, rossi has had some great touches...

if you're saying this guy needs to be able to shoot to be a younger Lampard, you obviously didn't watch the World Cup :lmao:

LOL......yeah....don't really want the Lampard from the WC...didn't he blame Erickson for not bringing in Defoe as a reason why he shot so poorly?? LOL

newayz....i'd really like Mescherano....but won't like Tevez because of many reasons said b4....and Senna...a little old....so, skeptical about that....

but great stats for Carrick....hm.....seems more promising...and number 16?? u sure?

Thats great and everything but have you looked at the rest of the players on that list? They play for either Liverpool or Chelsea. And One Michael Carrick isnt enough to make up for that.

I believe we will get Marcos Senna for 3 Million Pounds. He is 30 but didnt Chelsea got Makelele when he was 31? The point is,you cant have a young blood playing in Makelele's role. That role needs lots of focus, composure and the uncanny ability to read the game.Senna has all of that judging from the Villareal games I saw last season at the CL.He is also more fitter and faster than Makelele it seems.Carrick will wear number 16 as I predicted and according to the reports,he was delighted with that honour.Scholes,Carrick and Senna in midfield next season would be a sound force.Lets not forget that we are still linked to Mascherano,Tevez and Torres.I can already see the silver lining.

what a huge turn in mood for this thread...from last week to this week from blaming and eager disappointment to huge delight and expectations!!

true say Phrase...probably just because i haven't seen him play or know of him too well, that's why i was too judgemental at first....and if we do get Mascherano...that'd be great....

hm....and ur post makes me think of a 4-3-3 formation......do you think Fergie will try that again??

as for the article....is the Sun reliable???? hm.....doubts about that report...he did say long ago right after he left Arsenal that he own't mind playing for Manchester United in the future and says how everyone wants to play for such a club.....so that quote can be old.....

sorry, i'm a litle skeptical about Vieira coming to Old Trafford....seems a little too good to be true?? as 6m pounds?? hm.....

I think its good that we're being linked with older players for a change. £3-6million isnt much if someone like Senna or Vieira can bring valuable experience to the team. I mean, look at what Sheringham did for us.

i was just saying how that's probably....quite cheap! like i doubt we will get it at that value...but if it does happen...it would be great!!

as Juventus has just said how they want to keep their stars but the name of Vieira was never mentioned....so.....hm......kind of wierd when he goes into Emirates Stadium...

Kuyt??? don't know much about him...thought that 'pool was gonna get him!

Scored goals for fun in dutch league like Ruud but had a poor WC.Would be a cheaper option than Torres as would Klose probably 14m. He had a great pertnership with Solomon Kalou who Chelsea just bought.

I wouldnt mind him or Klose along with Senna or Viera at a stretch

Anyone but Vieira! :( I know football is all about business, but I still think it would just be strange for him to be in our Red at OT.

Champs League deadline is Thursday - does that only mean that we can'at get someone at another CL team? Or anyone we get won't qualify for the CL? If so, expect a signing today to coincide with Carrick's thing tomorrow...wonder who it could be ! :)

It should be a deadline for the qualifying stges thet we aint in ;)

So we can still sign people Kuyt n Senna will do me.

We could do with someone that is good at set pieces. If Senna is anything like his brother Ayrton, he can't take corners ;)
