Well when we end up signing noone I dont want to hear you whinging big man.

Real have sorted out their deals already and snapped up cannavaro and emerson. SAD came out last week and said he was looking at the situation at Juve but has done nothing about it. Soon we'll hear Barce get viera and thuram for silly money like 13million while United still do nothing. Its pissing me off to be honest and if we end up with crap quality players, I hope we get what we deserve next season with SAF getting the sack. UNited havnt signed or made any progress whatsoever with any player. Yes I know negotiations are usually secret with United but you still here about a bid for a player.
 
Well to be honest, all of our recent signings have been undercover and revealed once we reached a stage where we cant be hijacked. I'm assuming its gonna be the same this time round too.
 
Rumours of Ruud to Bayern and Hargreaves on his way to England. I've not seen much of him, any bundesliga fans on here watchin him week in/out?
 
Only watched a few of him in Bayern...but i think he has a great work ethic and works really hard...so, won't be a bad get...

as for Alucard...i don't whine..hahaha, sorry to disappoint...but, it does suck how Real and Barca are getting great players with ok amounts while we..........

oh wellz....we will get someone i',m sure.....i think we don't like to make it in the open is because if we do, Chelski will come and pay loads of money to lure them away to sit on the bench...it has happened quite too often that i'm sick of it.....so we have to do it more secretively...
 
i hope we don't get Hargreaves. He played a couple of okay games and he's suddenly a superstar (mainly because the media say so, but I still don't rate him much) . Maybe good for Bayern, but that's the German league.
People talk about his workrate, but that's all he really offers. We have a hard working player called J. S. Park that I believe is a better player.

Juve are appealing on Saturday. Gotta wait for that. Hargreaves would be okay by me.
 
We need more than one midfielder! Imagine if there was an injury or two we'll be in the same situation as last season.
Barca have now signed Thuram and Zambrotta yet nothing from us.
This is just getting depressing!
 
Hargreaves workrate is good but his distribution with the ball is very poor. Even for england he couldnt make very good passes or crosses to teammates. And I agree park is just as effective only hergreaves defense work may be better but whats the point if he cant pass the ball calmly under pressure out of tight situations.

I also agree with the statment above. We need ATLEAST two new midfielders in the middle of the park. Also a third player in a right winger to challenge or as back up to ronaldo(that could wait until january transfer window since its not a position thats needs strengthening immediatly). Even if that means United dont get a new striker if Ruud leaves. You cant just buy one defensive midfielder and expect him to be everything United's needed for the last few years, we need another midfielder with a different set of attributes so they can provide a different combination and alternative. Like kn4 said if the one midfielder we may sign gets injured we'll be in the same situation as last season.

As for waiting for Juve to appeal on saturday, all their good players would seem to have gone by then. Bacra and Real have wasted no time getting deals tied up so it cant be that difficult.

Just reading that article it quotes Fergie saying - "He is a striker who can score upwards of 20 goals a season and there are not many of those going around,"

Then why sell him then
 
Well I heard on skysports that Vieira was on his way to Inter. Duff looks to be leaving chelsea and United dont seem interested even though we need someone on the left to replace giggs. Newcaslte,tottenham and liverpool are only offering 5million for a 25year old world class left winger and quality left wingers are hard to find.
 
What's wrong with SAF? with no many players out there on the reach for ManUtd why doesn't he go for them. 4 great players already left Juve, and Viera seems certain on Inter. The same problem in the last few years, the midfield, and he doesn't want to can't correct it.

Hey I thought there was nothing to worry about?! I remember you saying we dont get the ones we are rumoured with so get used to it. Surely theres nothing to be depressed about! :cool: Plus we are not chelsea ;-)
 
money is so tight that we are probably trying to get them for as little as possible and other clubs are jumping in before us.

They're probably thinking why should we buy anyone? We finished 2nd and now we've got scholes, Ole, Rossi and Smith back. Even in our best year we would have finished 2nd behind Chelsea as they got record points. If we spent 25 million we would probably still finish second so let's not spend and still finish 2nd. I think Utd are maybe content with 2nd or 3rd knowing that they will qualify for CL. Maybe we need a really shit season to kick us up the arse as we always do okay and qualify, even with an average(ish) team.

Hope I'm wrong and the signings start soon.
 
Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal and even Spurs have made purchases that will definitely improve themselves so far.Its going to be really tough next season if we dont have any new assets in the team.Its gonna be a 5 horse race next season,believe me.We worked really hard to attain second placing last season and if we didnt keep up with the rest,we will face problems.Ronaldo is staying which is great news nonetheless,nobody is willing to match with the price SAF tagged on Ruud and we have yet to get a proper,holding midfielder.Pre-season will restart again next week with the players participating in the WC due to return.C'mon United,bring us some good news.
 
I'm not gonna start complaining until the new shirt numbers are revealed. You lot need to calm down.

i think that clubs are asking too much now, hoping to get more bids.... so towards the end of the transfer windows, the clubs would have not much choice but to accept ours

in this sense, ferguson is gonna start late into the transfer window... to save money so that maybe he can buy 1 more player

From what SAF has said there, thats fair enough and sounds like he is taking the sensible route. I think its a good idea we give the strikers a fair crack if Ruud leaves and especially if Athletico madrid want 25mil for Torres.
 
I do not buy what Sir Alex said in that article.Its just a way of saying,"Patience my Fans,We cant sign anyone yet." There's a week left in this month and the whole of August don't worry plenty of time mancs, I’d be more concerned about paying £15M for Carrick he's good but not world-class add £3-5M and you could get Riquelme.

not entirely certain what they're offering but it's a bastard to watch matches here.

Pplive is just too unreliable and keeps changing. One week I can get a match then they change all the channels and it's gone.
 
If we arent getting our targets any time soon, I think it would be in our best interest to pay the £25million price tag for Torres...
 
Just read that Fergie said Ruud asked to leave before the Arsenal cup final last year. If that's the case you can kind of begin to see why he was kind of lukewarm on the pitch, and fergie didn't build the team around him. But i'm not sure I buy it...

Marukom - I subscribe but you can't generally watch live games, aside from some this preseason it seems. Last year it was just highlights. not bad quality though :)
