Any more signing rumours? Hoping we get a couple before the world cup, often prices get inflated afterwards. Though in Diarra's case I don't see that as a possiblity.

Good to hear that Fergie looks set to give Jones a chance in midfield for a few more years, he was amazing for the reserves last year, and apparently equally good in Holland. He's got to be better than O'Shea in that role, he was so outplayed the past two games. I think the problem was that Giggs was tired, but still, he didnt' even come close to holding his own...
 
we definetly gotta buy new midfielders... our midfielders are pathetic compared to chelsea... how to challenge next season?
 
I´d just quickly like to remind all of you so called Manchester United fans that are slagging off/saying we should sell ruud and that next season will be his last at the club, Cristiano ronaldo is the 1 you should be talking that way about and Silvestre Fletcher and Saha. Silvestre´s mistakes have cost us dearly this season in a lot of games, including the 3 0 hammering by Chelsea. Louis Saha is an above average but by no means world class (like shevchenko Henry or Even Ruud) striker (btw) playing in a very good team (which means you are more likley to score, id score a few over the course of a season playing for man utd). Cristiano Ronaldo However is a 1 or 3 trick showpony who and it pains me to say this but its the truth Cannot pass/cross a ball to save his life, gives the ball away more times than he keeps hold of it, cant take freekicks (even though our better free kick takers and more expierienced players , namley Ryan Giggs) keep on letting him take them for some reason, his tricks very rarley actually skin players and when they do its usually due to the luck of the bounce of the ball, added to that his shot accuracy is appaling for a 21 year old player of any professional club in his position, just look at his assist record this season compared to a good winger like Joaquin, James Morrison Lennon


I can Guarentee even when ruud is 34 he will still be able to provide 20+ goals a season im gonna take a wilds guess at ronaldo havin trouble reaching 15 assists over the course of a full season (Cup Matches and friendlys Included)

Anyway speedy recoverys to smithy and Rooney I will love it if we have rooney for the world cup come on you reds!

I agree with you reagrding ruud, i think he is just lacking in confidence after being dropped out of nowhere. But ronaldo, yes he has got a lot of learning to do but he is still quality. He can deliever good crosses. He does over elaborate with his tricks but sometimes they are effective. No defender likes to be up against someone who constantly does step overs, it makes it much harder to tackle. I agree his freekicks are shit, giggs should defintley take them.

On another note i feel United have been really unlicky with injuries this season. Im talking major injuries to key players such as ,Keane (broken foot) Heinze (ligament damage) Smith(broken leg and ankle), Scholes(eye problem) and now rooney (broken foot).
 
This is my take on Ruud,Ronaldo and our team for next season.Firstly I personally feel that Ruud is out of sorts now.I think that he is feeling insecure of his future with us.His lack of team action does brings his confidence down and it is greatly affecting his game.That penalty miss against Boro only worsened his case.I'm not too sure if next season would be his last with us but if you are talking business,its a wise time for us to cash in on him right about now.You see,his style of play is pretty much one dimensional and when he is on top of his game,there is none better.The problem is that he is not anywhere near his game now and I hope his stint with the Holland camp and in the World Cup might rejuvenate him.Lets face it,Ruud is no Henry these days.The half fit frenchman could offer more than our dutch master.Ronaldo has a huge talent,no doubts about that.He just needs to find consistency in his game and he should do fine.He's only 21 and he has all the time in the world to develop his full potential here with us.He has already improved since he first wore our red jersey and justifies everything.Our team for next season should include the two world class midfielders that is promised for the fans.A playmaker and a defensive midfielder should do it.Sir Alex might even go out and get a forward to inject a fresh challenge for his current forwards.We all know he likes to buy forwards.If its up to me I'd buy Roman Riquelme,Mahamodou Diarra and Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
 
i disagree about ronaldo, he is world class... he has single handley won games for united, he is young, he is a keeper, he will be better the figo... much

I would love Carrick, wouldn't argue with the other two either. Here's to hoping it gets done!

Ronaldo is absolutely not someone we should be selling yet. Firstly, his market value will almost certainly rise next season (barring disaster). Further, he is already a very effective winger. He's fast, can beat defenders and will always wrory keepers, even if he doesn't end up testing them. The strengths that he has: natural ability, agility, pace are all things that you can't teach, whereas crossing, shooting and free kicks are areas that can be developped over time.

What does worry me is his inconsistency (hopefully this too will improve as he matures) and more importantly his awareness. He doesn't seem to have that sixth sense that makes a truly world class player. Hopefully with a full year to concentrate on his football (this previous season he had some major distractions) he can pick up his game, and start performing every match.
 
People forget that Ronaldos dad died and he was falsely accused of rape.

I was 19 when my dad passed away and I was fucked up for over a year, the fact the lad has continued to play (and improve) this season should not be overlooked.

Ronaldo plays alot better with Rooney/Saha than he does with Ruud/Rooney.

There is NO WAY fergie will sell Ronaldo.
 
Mickey Carrick would be great for us.He could develop like how Fat Frank Lampard did at Chelski.All the qualities of a natural central midfielder is there in him and in my opinion,he is a realistic target.
 
Sun saying £8m for Ruud to PSV...as if Ruud would only cost £8m, I really can't get over that paper, every year come up wiht the most ridiculous stories in the summer...

I read that today as well. It pisses me off cuz even though its BS, it still puts ideas into the player's heads.

Watching the Championship playoff game Palce v Watford and Ben Foster is a very good keeper,

He should be our No 2 next season as i heard Howard is getting sold.
 
Reports in paper say Ruud for Torres!!!

Would not mind that one bit, doubt its true tho.

I can see the Glazers giving extra cash if player warrants it & we can still sell players.

Apparently its Ruud + £14million for Torres. Definately not worth it.
IMO, we should just sell Saha and buy another striker. I still believe we can squeeze one more season out of Ruud. I know there are many here and around the world who will react with the usual "OMG! Ruud is the goal king, he cant be sold" but the fact is, he's past his best and isnt gonna improve anymore. People have critised SAF for some of his sales (Beckham still being the one that bothers me) but he explained that those players werent getting any better. And even though they might have another good year left in them, selling now gives you a better deal. If we sell Ruud in another 2 years time (I bet you people will still complain then too), you'd be lucky to get even £6-8million for him regardless of whether or not he's playing well.
 
Yeah all the signs are in place that Fergie's not keeping Ruud though. When was the last time he paid him a compliment in post match comments? My theory is Ruud said around xmas he wanted to leave, and that's part of the reason fergie tried Saha for so many games. Terrible for United, end of an era of sorts, but then teams have to evolve.

So I've heard alot about Torres, but what kind of striker is he?
 
torres...he would rather be w/ his best mate reyes(torres is good,but not nearly great)it take 2-3yrs to adapt to EPL style(you see in WC)
 
Whats sad is that if he leaves and we dont do well, we'll be using the "still in transition" excuse.
 
Van Nistelrooy should go. He is much better then Saha. A player like Ruud should always play, he scored more then 150 goals for Man U. I'm more a Chelsea fan(?) but i like Man U cuz of Ruud, Rooney and Ronaldo.
