Hmm, if he's have broken a bone he probably wouldn't be in agony like that, I broke my arm and hand and never felt it :S

Good point, Owen showed no pain when he did it!

Does not look good

Rooney not as bad as first thought.

Good news, will probably be treated for the next month to make sure.

O well crappy performnace, Saha needs to be shot or sold. He has no vision or awarenesss around him.

Mini clearout needed

Update: Rooney limps on bus, cant be broken bone!

:)

Good news, England dont play the same without him

Right one last big push to get this 2nd place.

Liverpool will be 2nd tonite.

Gotta win monday!

Glad for Rooney, he's not so seriously wounded but you can't say saha should be shot !

They'd better shoot C. Ronaldo, he's too nervous !

Thats what Alan Hansen was saying. 6 weeks is probably minimum. And in 6 weeks from today, its England's first game in the competition. So by the time Rooney is back, he still wont be 100% and match fit.

it could be very dangerous to rush him...all football fans will miss him in world cup, hes a very gifted player to watch, i hope he can recover, but i think health comes before football...we'll wait and see...

I'm gutted when looking at the bigger picture.Hats off to Chelski, they deserved it but the bitter pill was damn hard to swallow.England's hopes are now in jeopardy, thats how important Rooney is to the Three Lions.Rest assured,we will still be second place no matter what now.

I'm really hoping we don't lose focus and miss out on second. That would be a real slap in the face after not so bad a 2006 so far. I guess Fletcher will probably get recalled, unless fergie decides to give ronaldo a chance in his portugese position, behind Saha/Rossi and V. Nistlerooy. Oh and here's hoping Ruud gets a couple mroe goals and takes the FA's golden boot, just to spite fergie for sitting him so much this season.

When Rooney was injured in Euro 2004, he was out for 3 months.
Can anyone remember his first game back against Fenerbahce?
I think England will be fine.

And that was a worse injury!

This is a fracture not a break

How long is Heinze out for?

Will he play this season?

what the hell is this? First half has been absolutely crap. saha seems unaware that there are other players on the pitch, and ruud has been off his game too. Worst of all no one seems to care. If this is what life is like without rooney...we deserve to finish third! Come on United!!!

Keep saying Sahas a waste of space.

Need to get rid and get someone with better awareness.

I guess the players don't really want second place. Maybe they're looking forward to having to qualify, I don't know. Nice to see Rossi where he deserves to be, playing for the first team. He had some good touches, did more than Saha in the hwole rest of the match. Ronaldo also looked good.

To be fair i think the secon dhalf boro palyed similarly to arsenal v. vilareal: dont' bother trying to score, show how difficult it is to score on 10 men defending. Regardless, pretty pathetic showing, no bounce back at all from Saturday.

Sell Saha & buy Bent or Defoe.

At least they can get other players involved.

Fear Ruud might get sold as well

I didnt watch the matc but i had a feeling we wouldnt win. I also have feeling Alex Ferguson is running out of ideas for the team, im a afraid we dont have a plan B when things are not working out.

Need a clearout!

Saha, Silvestre, Fletcher, O'Shea, Howard even Ruud!

Ruud does not seem interested antmore.

Just my opinion

its not there yet one more match....but it`s over for Top scorer Ruud w/ 22 goals(not bad at all)Henry should finish w/ 25:D

I think next season is Ruud's last in the first team and we'll probably bring in someone during or after next season to replace him. God knows where we'll find someone who can get us goals like that but we'll need to. After that, it'll just be up to Ruud if he wants to hang around any longer.
We could have a go with Rossi cuz he's not gonna stay young forever but that could mess up if he isnt ready.
And people are always forgetting Alan Smith. We all know he can still play up front and he just might be the man we want. Ever since we've become a stronger team, Smith hasnt had a chance up front. I'm guessing this just might be his time...

I agree with smith being another option up front, hopefully he can learn from Ruud and Ole about awareness and bringing others into play. Bad news is he wasn't fast before, and after such a bad injury you have to imagine that he might come back even slower. It's not nice to admit, but we looked at our most dangerous a few weeks ago with Saha, Rooney, Ronaldo and Park bombin forward on the break.

What was most worrying about Ruud yesterday wasn't his penalty miss, but the other chances when balls fizzed into the box and he failed to get a touch. That's his strength, and without that he won't get the goals, despite his great holdup and passing play.

Rossi will presumably go back to Italy at some point, so I just hope he gets a few chances. If we'd won lsat night I feel like he might well have gotten a start on Sunday, now it's very doubtful. I want to see what he can do!

Another 0-0 against Charlton would do just fine mancs ;)

Cheers, as would a 0-0 against Pompey.

It's all our own undoing that we're currently having to struggle for second. Can't blame anyone else.
