The best thing to do is just to ignore trolls like him. Once they dont get anymore attention, they seem to go away after a while. They are like little pests lol.

I'm also beginning to think that RvN has lost his killer instincts. It might be down to his change in style as a forward. Its been known that Marco van Basten perfers a forward who can create more instead of just being a greedy forward.I think Ruud is adapting to that bearing in mind that he wants to start for the Dutch in WC2006.Other that his striking flaw lately, his buildup play and holding off players have been superb.Nemanja Vidic is settling is well so far..its been what,4 games now alongside Rio? A few more would be nice.I'm really liking him,the only flaw I could think of is his lack of speed. He really reminds me of John Terry, strong and no-nonsense,if he has to boot it out,he will.He did have a bizarre game because he was superb but did endured a few dodgy moments. His headed clearance from the corner bounced to Rio and it ricocheted to Jenas for Spurs only goal.Aside from Rooney, our best player was Park Ji Sung!!

Decent article in yesterdays mirror re FC United:

Simon Mullock in Sunday Mirror

When I broke the story that rebel Manchester United fans, alienated by the pending takeover at Old Trafford by Malcolm Glazer, were planning to form a breakaway club there were some people who dismissed them as crackpots.

Fourteen months on, FC United of Manchester are champions of the North West Counties second division.

And it seems even the suits at the so called Theatre of Dreams are now having nightmares about what is happening 12 miles away at Gigg Lane.

Last week, when given the chance to acknowledge the achievements of Karl Marginson and his team, Sir Alex Ferguson walked away from a press conference in some embarrasment.

I also understand the commercial department of the self styled biggest club in the world were less than impressed about the local rag devoting the back page to FC United following the 4 -1 win over Chadderton which sent them to within nine divisions of the Premiership itself.

There was apparantly even a veiled threat made to the paper that they would have their accreditation for United games removed if they continued to report a story which gives every football fan in Britain belief that sanity will one day be restored to the game.

FC United have pulled in average gates of 3,000 - more than many football league clubs - and their founders and supporters should be lauded for carrying out their threat to walk away from the most glamorous club in the country on principle.

But lets be honest, even if they win promotion for the next nine seasons, they will never rival Manchester United. So what is driving all the paranoia at Old Trafford?

Perhaps its the fact that while the Glazer clan talk about Manchester United being "a great franchise" the two words at the forefront of the other United are Football Club.

Maybe they're worried the local council may offer FC an open-topped bus parade of the city. More likely its the fact that while Old Traffords capacity will increase to 76,000 next season, United continue to lose their soul.

Last week the club confirmed our exclusive that ticket prices will rise by 10 per cent and more next season as the Glazers attempt to raise enough cash to meet the debts they took out to complete their takeover.

Why should a father break the bank to take his kids to the game when hes got Sky and can get his fix of live football bt shelling out £7 for adults and £2 for Under-18s across the town at Gigg Lane?

That is the crux of the matter. At a time when the Glazers are desperate to maximise revenue streams they know that by doing so they risk sending more alienated supporters to the other side.

The Glazers obviously thought the battle was over, but it continues. Not only can the rebels raise a glass to their success on the pitch, they can also toast the fact that they have bloodied the nose of the United establishment.

There's no longer only one United.

I think this is a done deal.

Linked player talks United
Monday, April 17, 2006

Jean Makoun

"I'd love to play for Manchester United. United is a team everyone dreams of playing for. If I had the chance to go there I'd say, 'Certainly!'"

Also strongly linked is a player I've mentioned a few times..

Reo-Coker on United link

"I am really enjoying my time at West Ham. I'm just trying to become the best player I can. It is exciting that (manager) Alan Pardew wants to take the club forward. But the one thing we have to remember is that football is a business and money talks. We are not guaranteed to keep all the squad together and don't know what the situation is going to be. If we lose one or two players and bring in a few more, then so be it."

I not to keen on Jean Makoun. Im sure he is from the same place as Djemba Djemba which has got to be worrying! Not seen or heard too much about him except he plays for Lille.

Now Reo Coker is a much more safer nd logical bet. He is english, plays in the middle of the park, is captain only at 21 years of age and most importantly already proven himself in the premiership.

Yeah I agree, I'm not sure waht Fergie sees in him. I watched the lille match, he was okay, but nothing earth shattering. We don't have to look for small, unknown players and train them up, we should be competing to sign the very best right now.

Saw Ruud's missed chances, can't believe he didn't take the 1 on1, the other was pretty damn unlucky, he timed his run to pefection and couldn't have struck it any sweeter. Still think with Rooney/Ruud/Ronaldo in there we're just ridiculously dangerous, as Ronaldo's awareness improves its only going to get better. I think Ruud's role is changing like someone else mentioned, and he's having to adjust. Hopefully that means he'll still be around next year!

You're right, Ruud's taking a different role now that we have multiple players other than him that can score regularly, such as Rooney, as opposed to when he traditionally played as a lone striker in the past seasons. It's true Ruud hasn't been scoring in recent games, but his tactical play and passing have been amazing. He holds up the ball then makes those piercing passes.
This season I'd have to say Ruud's passing game has really improved, plus he's forming an understanding with Rooney, with both of them complementing each others runs with great passes. And if you were really watching his last few matches you'll notice that he took any scoring chances that came his way and probably couldn't have done any better with them, only to have an inspired defender or keeper block it (like when he rounded the keeper yesterday, or the few chances last friday).

As for Makoun, I haven't seen him play so I'm not going to judge him or write him off as another Djemba Djemba.

we've never really been a club to sign big names or as you put it "the best right now" we always sign potential then delvelop that potential the only big name "established player" we've bought recently was seba veron (VDS aswell) and the expectation was too much.

Most of our best players have been virtual unknowns (ruud, ronaldo, heinze) or very young promising players (rio, rooney, rossi, pique).

I'm a bit pissed off at Ruud, on one hand he's been a fantastic player for us, he loves the club and is the best predatory striker in europe, he's been the main man at the club since he joined, thats not been the case this year and he's seen his arse, I know he's not a big fan of the jackal (who has wayyyy too much input in the 1st team) but he could still play a big part for us challenging chelsea next year and improving our recent form in Europe.

There is no way we can let Ruud go:

Confirmation that Bellion has finally gone.

From United's site:

United have confirmed that David Bellion will complete a permanent summer move to Nice. (On 1st July)

"We have agreed for the permanent transfer of David Bellion's registration to Nice on the opening day of the French transfer window on 1 July for an undisclosed fee.

"Everyone at the club wishes David all the best in his future career."

Its a very sad day!!

Well until recently he was the league's top scorer, and that's without a decent midfield for most of the season. Next if we hopefully have players who can create more passes and compete with Chelsea's midfield then we could definitely see Ruud and Roon's names at the top of the scoring list.

Two players in mind, realistic and is ready made for transfers...Nigel Reo-Coker and Kevin Nolan.

no disrespect but its gonna be difficult for you to understand, the match going experience has lessened over the years, clubs continue to alienate the supporters (our club more than most).

The whole FC United thing is partially about supporters being allowed to enjoy going to the match, stand with your mates have a sing, have a laugh and enjoy yourself (the quality of the football hasnt been that bad either).

Plus the club is ran by the supporters and for the supporters, not to make shareholders/owners rich.

The amount of support we get from supporters from other clubs up and down the country is fantastic.

Dont get me wrong i'd never leave MUFC but FC United deserves my support and respect.

I really want Kevin Nolan, even if he ends up being brought in as backup to start, I'm sure he'll get his first team place. His attitude, toughness and commitment are proven - things I just don't know about with the likes of Makoun.

Reo-Coker would be a good choice too, he's the England under 21 captain right? Must have something going for him! Plays in a scholes-esque role doesn't he?

Anyone heard anything about Alan Smith's comeback? Like are tehy still confident he's going to heal etc?

no your right, i wont be able to understand the changes over the years.

but what i dont understand is this

"Plus the club is ran by the supporters and for the supporters, not to make shareholders/owners rich."

dont the supporters only have themselves to blame for being a public company, the reason they went public was to raise money, to pay for the best players and the best managers etc... which in turn makes the club and its shareholders(the supporters) rich.... and now there going to complain about that, its a intresting paradox.... i really think there crying over spilt milk in that respect... the sole purpose of a public traded company is to make the shareholders rich, if not then dont make your company a publicly traded company...

i havnt gone anywhere you twat, i just dont based my whole life surfing the internet, in particularly this forum LOL...

What did you guys think of Riquelme last night? Skysports is reporting he's been talking up a United move. I thought he looked dangerous, but doesn't seem to run much, nor track back very well. Could be a scholes-esque player, feed him the ball in the center of the park and let rooney/ruud/ronaldo run around him. Forlan has said that the only reason he scores more in Spain than the prem is because of him. I just worry about his price tag and his speed.

your missing the point...

united becoming a PLC had nothing to do with the supporters, its not like we had a choice, the club was owned by a family who decided to float it.

alot of supporters bought shares with no intention of becoming wealthy, but on the other hand alot of vampires jumped aboard with the sole intention of cashing in, which is fair enough, as a PLC thats what happens.

what "by the supporters for the supporters" means is that unlike a PLC the money will be pumped into the club instead of out, the amount of times we've missed out on players cos it meant shareholders getting a smaller cut. FC United arent trying to get rich (there already wealthy thanks to Glazer) just to enjoy football again.

dont get me wrong I prefered the PLC route to what we've got now, if we had an owner that could afford us/supported us and spoke to us we might have a different attitude.

he not strong enough, the EPL is speed and strength and if Barc doesn`t want him you guys don`t need him

I would love if United signed Riquelme. He didnt have the best of games last night, but its never right to judge one on a single game. He has shown countless of times his quality, his creativity. Even though he didnt have to best of games he still worked hard for Villereal and was covering all positions int he midfield. As you can tell im a big fan of Riquelme, i hearUnited can get him for 8million. I would be pissed off if we wasted our transfer money on stupid no name players Like Mukoun. If we want to compete with the best, we have to buy the best. Yes i know in the past we have picked up lesser known players and built them up, but there is nomore time of waiting for players to develop or hoping we find a diamond in the rough. Three seasons without the title has proven the bar has been raised, so teams must step up.

Even kevin Nolan or some proven player in the premiership would be an ideal signing. I always believed we should of went in for Scott parker when we had the chance. The amount of games we played he could have easily come in as a utility player and would have cost nothing more than 5million. Anyway thats history. But we cant make the same mistake and miss out on top talent in exchange for spending small and hoping the player is good.

well said, but he might be another Veron(my opinion)
Thats always gonna be on the back on everybody's mind rite? South americans just dosent fit with the premiership. How I wish Ronaldinho had joined us a season before he join Barca.I think he would quash that mentality for good.Mick Brown, the man who brought Veron to England was very upset that the midfielder didnt performed to the best of his ability for United. It just didnt work out for Veron. However, the same cant be said about any other big names.I believe its down to the mentality of the player himself to ante-up his game for the EPL and I am assured Veron didnt have to bottle to do that.I'd love to see Riquelme to don our red shirt and I believe its a high possibility.

Great news. heinze played for 68 minutes in the 1-0 win at Villa reserves. It also means we've probably won the reserve league again.
