Manchester United Thread

Our dive swung the whole game. Your dive swung the whole season.
Every team has had a diver at some point so what happened at OT is nothing special and worth mentioning. You lot however benefitted from a dive a whole lot more.
So Rooney's dive IMO, gave you what you deserved.

I'm not saying we don't dive, I'm just pointing out you do too.

Drop it now.

But I'm just backing up the claim that "we're whining divers". I never said you were divers, I'm just pointing out that you are guilty of it too.

And regarding the match at OT, the match swung on that dive, thats all the evidence i need, no if's or but's, if Rooney hadn't dived it would have been a different game. And before someone mentions me dwelling on the past, I'm not, I don't feel bitter I'm just making a point.
did the FA come out after the game and say the wrong call was made.. short answer NO... dudring hte same game did ashley cole not get a yellow card for diving in the box?

I imagine he was implying that you suffocate the game.
hahahh, is that what you call it when we beat you by playing tactically smart football... what a joke your statement is, i suppose we should take a man off and let you pass it all around the pitch, so you can play your normal game...
get over yourselves..

You are such a tard. I quite clearly stated that Utd generally get their tactics right against us. Fucking hell. And yeah they do suffocate the pitch, it's the only way you can stop us, not by playing your own game but from stopping us playing ours. At OT you dived and cheated like fuckers, was that not the game that v. Nistlerooy tried to break Ashleys leg? hmmm...

Grow up 'United' fans - you are pissing me off with Arsenal-United banter of late. Is their ANY English people in the United section apart from me and Vann?

There is no way Manchester United are more likely to win the league than we the Champ's League. First of all, you have more games to play en route to winning the trophy as opposed to 3 more games to win the CL. The probability of losing a game increases with more games. Secondly, Your winning the league is dependent on Chelsea's results. Now I know Chelsea have buckled a bit, but they do have an easier schedule to go. The only team that could beat them is Man U, whereas they in addition to Arsenal could beat Man U, or take points off. Finally, the Chelsea game is at the bridge.
Anyway, My preference is for Manchester United to win the league, as much as it hurts my soul to say so. I hate Chelsea more than I hate Man U and I never thought that could could ever exist.

You're definately going to have the advantage on Sunday, our boys worked their socks off again. Maybe adrenaline will get them through, I still feel it's absolutely vital we beat you, the chances of us winning the CL are still slim. Even if we do manage to get to the final it looks daunting to say the least.

just read four-four-two magazine and they had an interview with Riquelme. They ask him about how he feels being linked with Man Utd. He said he was 'Honoured to be linked with such a great club'.

Are United still favourites to sign him? He was awesome against Inter.

Every player will say that but if an AC Milan or Real Madrid came in for him he'd sod us off!

Riquelme will surely be a bit apprehensive about playing in England. He is not considered to be the fastest of players and his style of play is rather languid and sedate. I dont think he will take kindly to the frenetic tackling and jostling he will be subjected to in England. he wont be given time on the ball, he wont be given time to dish out the ball and neither will he be allowed to dictate any kind of pace. Now, if he can adapt, unlike Veron, he will surely be a class act. I'd love to see him in the Premiership albeit at United. To me it will be like having a poor man's Ronaldinho in the league, but any kind of Ronnie is some Ronnie.

I guess I'm the other English United fan on here. Not that it matters really. Bottom line is both United and Arsenal are playing some good football at the moment, and in the past that hasn't always been the case. Yes Ruud's challenge on Ashely Cole was nasty, he got a subsequent 3 game ban. I've seen Vieira do the identical thing. Get over it. Football isn't so nice, neither team is better or worse. United have a rougher reputation, but Arsenal probably have more of a simulation reputation. Either way, we can all agree Chelsea suck, and just move on right?

Hoping it's going to be a good win for us. We looked a bit stretched against Bolton other than that 10 minute period in the second half when Ruud came on. Arsenal will generate a couple chances (probably Henry by himself, some of his touches against Juve were incredible) so it's all about saving those, and taking ours. I'm predicting 1-1, but hoping to sneak a 2-1!

Also a good test to see how Sheasy does against Febregas. Who's the ref out of interest? Better not be Graham Poll, he's so poor.

It may be tactically smart but it's still suffocating the game. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it cause otherwise there would be more chance of you losing the game but it is still suffocation, ie not giving Arsenal space for their total football to breathe.

Don't think much of the logo:

But it is one the biggest Insurance companies in the world, based in New York - this will really put United on the US and Global market. The Glazers look like they know what they are doing.

I've seen quite a bit of both teams recent games, and think if anything United is playing more total football. Almost every shot (and there have been loads) comes as a result of build up involving at least Ronaldo, Rooney and either Saha/RVN. In fact, United are starting to resemble Arsenal in that respect, particularly with Park and Giggs on, a massive red wall surging forward on the counter.

You suffocated Juve and that's how you won, I don't totally understand what you're trying to say?

We played by far the better football against Juve. Our passing was slick and we carved them open on numerous occassions. All that was different was that we showed way more determination to fight for every ball than they did. This something that we have been critised for not doing in the past and now we are so it was a top performance all round.
