Manchester United Thread

Well you haven't won the league since he left, all you have to show for the last 3 seasons is 2 cups, 1 being the Mickey Mouse cup.

Lets see what you win when Henry leaves????

Reason why we have not won anything is because we dont have a midfield end of!!!

The progression is there look at the current form

We dont have to wait, lets just see what they win with no Vieira, I would nt blame Uniteds lack of success down to the loss of Beckham id put it down to Romans millions, although europe still seems to be a toughy for United at the moment!

I dont its the nidfield.

It needs rebuilding starting with Diarra plus another and probably Nolan!

Then a left midfielder - Siamao (hopefully)

I agree with the midfield being the worse part of the team but its held pretty well (better than I expected) for quite some time now. Definatly though at least 2 hard working midfielders need to come in the summer and the United team will look more of a completed squad

2 cup is only considered bad by our own standards.

We a need a creative midfielder and a tenacious one. In addition play a 442 and we'll be seeing classic Utd performance.

Inter president has pretty much stated they'll make a bid for Ruud. Woudl he really start there? Do they play 442? Cause no way would they sit Adriano I wouldn't have thought. Just wish Ruud himself would come out and state he's happy, that would go a long way.

Well he'd only say that if he really was happy. So he probbly isnt, and rightfully so cuz he's not playing badly.

....and by how much you spent over the past few years ;)

I have to agree. Our lack of success hasnt been down to Abromobitch or Beckham Sale. But rather the money spent on trying to replace people like beckham, veron and keane with average players that havnt cut it at United. Even this season we suffering cuz we havnt bought proper quality in the midfield(not just central) bar ronaldo and the recently Park ji sing. Sir Alex was the reason for lack of success nobody else.

trouble is, because of the shit papers, he has to say it every day

yeah.. nvm let them waste their money... we just have to make tons of transfer rumours and chelsea will soon go bankrupt

more players does not mean good thing... there may be alot of unhappy players

It's probably all rumours, or else chelsea will have central midfield roster of (off the top of my head)
Essien, Ballack, Maniche, Lampard, Gudjohnsen, Mascherano, Diarra, Makelele, Geremi, Diarra no 2(?)

Of which only 3 can really play at any one time. I mean being on a prem winning team is great and all, but how many games can most of those expect to get?!

Thats quite a tasty midfield there. I wouldnt read too much into those rumours as thats all they are at the moment. There has been no comfirmed interest from either Utd or chelsea, so that article isnt worth much credence.

Imagine if they bought all their (or shall I say our) transfer targets and when the time came to register their squad for the CL, they had too many players to choose from.
CL is a major draw for players who want to join the top teams. If they dont even make the CL squad then why bother joining?

Well we managed to win the league after Roman's millions came along. We have a good side at the moment that will get stronger as it develops. Losing Thierry would be gutting but Arsene has replaced before, SAF doesn't seem to be able to do that.

SWP himself said he joined Chelsea to increase his chances of a England place. And joining Chelsea just made them worse.

Erm, does this even need addressing? Fergie doesnt' know how to replace players? He's been the manager for what 18 years, and if you hadn't noticed United has been a bit more of a consistent power in those years than I don't know, anyone other team.

And yeah you beat Roman's millions, before they'd had a chance to play a season together, and before a bunch of the current squad had even arrived. If you guys really do come back next season then all respect, but don't come on here insulting Fergie's tactics when you're staring up at 4th.

I wasn't insulting tactics, just currently he hasn't been able to replace key players (that includes ones that are passed it and still playing)

Wenger can bring us back and i think most probably will. he already has players in place to replace others, they just need a bit of time.

until the big clubs want them and then they're off.

Who is past it? The oldest players are Giggs, Scholes and Neville (VDS doesn't count). None of them are past it.

Our youth team is the best in the country at the moment and have only lost a few recently because most of them have been sent out on loan. Plenty of replacements there.

ok, maybe ONE player is past it. just before his eye injury, he was playing well.

you've got to replace Pires and Bergkamp

I cant agree more.Arsenal are now in a worse situation than where we were last season.Already having lost Paddy, now contract talks concerning Henry,Pires and Bergkamp has no progression.Henry could leave,Pires wont be offered more than a year contract and this season could be Bergkamp's last with the Goons.United on the other hand might not loose any VIP players, infact we could get more come this summer.
