Manchester United Thread

I've seen Dirk Kuyt play a few times and I dont think he has what it takes to replace Ruud at United. The player whom will replace him has to better than him of not on par, someone like Adriano.

Ronaldo played great yesterday, on a crap pitch, a pitch that's going to be used for the WC06. I just hope they sort it out.
Ronaldo scored 2, a header, a left foot strike.

EDIT: Torres would be great at united, but get ready for a few dives in the first few months!

Yeah, Torres is abit of a diver but a clever diver IMO, i rather a clever diver than a stupid guy who doesnt fall down in the penalty box even if 2 defenders made clumsy challenges on him, Give it up for.... LOUIS SAHA!

Torres is a talented striker, vv exciting to watch, but he is quite selfish sometimes

if im not wrong, last summer, man utd and chelsea wanted to buy him right? but Alt Madrid rejected any bids

lets not talk about that other Ronaldo.. he is a bastard IMO... he is a ingrateful idiot... look at how he repays other clubs? whoever pays him more, he'll turn his back on his own club... look at the clubs he has been to, Barcelona,Inter milan,Real Madrid...
Inter Milan especially, he got his knees injrued during his spell at Inter, but Milan still stuck by him, gave him salary, pay for his medical fees, hoping that he'll recover quickly and put some goals in the back of the net... but after sometime after he recovered, he packed his bags and went to Real Madrid, what an ingrateful bastard

lol he was talking about the united christiano-ronaldo, who is imo the real ronaldo. Fake ronalo is real madrid striker who is fat slob.

Cristiano just needs to work on his delivery. I reckon about 3 out of every 10 crosses he does is actually dangerous and causes defences a problem which isnt quite good enough. He also needs to be a bit more aware of who is around him in a United shirt and not try and do it all himself at times. Very Skillful and Talented young player but we need to look after him and develop him and I think we will :)

i disagree mate... vv often man united doesnt pull the trigger and they and dominate the game but have only 1-2 shots, sometimes none, and theres a saying "u'll nv hit the lottery if u dont bet" so u gotta take those shots and try ur luck... although i agree that sometimes his teammate is clearly unmarked but he chooses to shoot

Yeah ronaldos crossing is actually one of his best attributes, its just he doesnt cross in time. He sometimes overdoes his tricks and by the time he finished, the marker has caught up with the target in the box who is either ruud or rooney.

Totally agree. There have been times when he ran past a defender with his pace but when the time came to cross, he stops, lets the defender catch up, and starts using his tricks again just so he can beat him and show off. Whats the point of that?

Yea and cross like Beckham i think Ruud would appreciate it

Thats the thing mate...nobody crosses like Beckham...the way Becks puts in those crosses are the results of vigourous training since he was a kid.His deliveries are his best attributes. Ronaldo would be smashing forward only then we will see his true scoring skills.I'm now contented with his improving style,no worries.

The guy has had a lot of problems. I had to deal with my father dying and it took a long time. You are now seeing his form get better and by the end of the season and next year, he's going to be awesome.

thats life... theres highs and lows

BK_83 I was referring to United ronaldo! ;)

Another thing, ronaldo always plays great for Portugal, but then again he is more of a SS for Portugal than a winger.
Sir alex should watch the Portugal games.

Nahh...The forwards shape will probably look like this

----------------------Pauleta------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-----------Ronaldo-----------------Figo--------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Deco------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------Maniche------Costinha---------------

I agree,Ronaldo plays more as a withdrawn striker with Portugal.

I think if we get a new manager we'll play Ronaldo in that position, with him and rooney more or less allowed to roam about wherever they'd like. But fergie has played the crossing game long enough that he believes it will work, so will continue to play wingers.

I figure with all our sriking power we'd be better off to play like arsenal, quick passing and free roles up front, pulling defenses all over the places and allowing poeple to run through.

Good to hear scholes is getting a bit better, with him and heinze back things'll be looking up. Here's to hoping for another 4-0 on monday!

Just read that Lille's Jean Makoun expects to move to OT this summer, anyone know anything about him? Plays with obi mikel for nigeria, that's all i can think of. Not exatly the big name i was hoping for htough...

We have been linked with ever midfielder under the sun. I wouldnt read too much into it. When the summer comes, we will be more sure who the target truly is.

Yeah. No one saw the Van Der Sar transfer coming but it happened. This summer will probably be the same. We could pull off a shocker and sign someone we least expect like Vieira as far as we know.

Heard hes pretty good!

Why does everyone want massive names? when surely getting a good squad is essential?

Squads win things not the first 11

on paper portugal's tactic is a 433, but since all the 4 players upfront change positions all the time, it quickly changes to something like this:
.............Pauleta.........
......ronaldo................
Figo..................Deco...
etc...

EDIT: f*uck, Jorge Andrade is gonna miss the World Cup, He got injured yesterday on the Depor-Barça match. :(
