Manchester United Thread

O'Shea, Fletcher and Ferdinand are craps. What Man utd players know are to talk about the importance of winning this game before the Chelsea game. I see the way they play I think the whole lot of them with the exception of Rooney are playing like idiots!

4 nil... anyone want to know what I think of Rio Ferdinand? I think him and his agent are smart asses who conned Alex Ferguson into believing that he is one of the best defenders in the world! Sad to say, millions and millions of dollars wasted in buying him.

Wow, O'Shea, Fletcher need to be rested. They're not good enough, period. I worry with performances like this who will sign with us come january. Ballack has clearly been told several times that he would be stupid to go to United, and with performances like that... :(

I see some of the Man Utd players like Ferdinand play... I think they don't have any desire to win at all... He must be thinking how to negotiate for higher wages as he was playing... PLayers like Frank Lampard who are so consistent you don't see them reported in news going clubbing til late at night or involved in some sex scandal. For Man Utd, you just have to look at Ferdinand and Ronaldo. Enough said.

The key word there was SCANDAL.

And after watching the game today (it was on PremPlus), I think it showed that our fringe players are just completely useless. IMO, Fletcher and O'Shea were the two biggest reasons why we lost. They gave the ball away far too often and their final ball at the end of plays were pathetic. I've said this once before and I'll say it again. When our first set of young players came through the ranks, it was because they were great players. But since then, it seems as though players like Fletcher and O'Shea made the step just for the sake of having young players being brought up to the first team, and not because they were anything special.
To be fair, Boro were amazing today. They played some great football that even embarressed us at times. This same team performance could easily have take points off a team like Arsenal and even Chelsea IMO.

But thats not something that we should be worrying about. We seriously lack cover for our main players. No Keane, Giggs and Ronaldo really hurt us. If you look at Chelsea, you can almost pick any XI at random every game and each team would be equally as great. Each of their replacements are just as good as the first team players.
Theres almost no way we're gonna stop Chelsea unless we can match that kind of financial power to be able to build a squad like that. Its just too difficult for our squad to keep up to those standards week in week out.
Its like watching a relay race where Chelsea can pass the baton onto the next player to continue the run whereas we have only one player to complete the race course.
Ballack would make us stronger but he wont win us the title. Even if we signed a Gattuso or a Vicente or any other player we've been linked to numerous times. I think we need to forget about trying to go toe to toe with Chelsea in the league cuz its an endurance test that we cant last. Which is why we have a better chance of winning knockout competitions like the CL or the FA Cup.

What a bitter disappointment, not because we lost but at the manner of how we lost.Boro played like Chelsea and we played like shite. So much for Van der Sar's rallying cry, first goal was his mistake.Ferdinand's two mistake became costly,he was wayyy to soft on his opponents,I cant see Campbell or Terry letting Hasselbaink and Yakubu off that easily.Richardson was lucky enuff to stay on the field after professionally fouling the player. We were shite,I cant remember the last time we played this badly honestly.I'd rather watch the kids gunning for the Carling Cup now.NO ONE in the first team apart from Rooney worked their socks off.Thank God we didnt go home empty handed,we got our 1000th goal thru Ronaldo, who should have been involved earlier. There was a shot of Sir Alex's face when we were already down 4-0.That shot saddens me a lot.Its like,he's saying to himself..."You've lost it old man, time to give up now."...He was expressionless, more like reading the writings on the wall.We can never secure the top 3 spot let alone catch Chelsea if we keep on playing like this, never.

The sad thing is nobody is pushing chelsea at the moment. Rio is just too complacent at the moment he is playing like he doesnt have to play because of his status. Smith just doesnt cut it in the middle, oshea is totally shit, wer just not strong enough through the middle and at the back with no inspiritaional leader getting the players together. There also was no passion about the team, we were playing too laid back.

I thought that we had things bad, Ferdinand needs to come off crooze control. I bet he got a right rollicking from Ferguson back in the dressing room.

Yep and hopefully a boot thrown at his beak lips.

We lost to Boro 2-1 but we had freakin CYGAN on..... Dont forget your missing key players like HEINZE and Gneville....... Heinze woulda never gaven a dumb penalty like that....but in all fairness richardson is playing waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy out of position

Arsenal vs ManU this season will be crap unless chelsea lose 6 in a row which is just a dream at tthe moment

Well they can still lose at Highbury and twice against us so we could be half way there.

lose twice to man utd? by last nights showing i don't think utd have a chance.

Well obviously. I mean that those three games would be ones that decide the Premiership. Cuz it seems as though results never seem to go our way. If Chelsea drop points, we also drop points. But if we win against Chelsea, we automatically get a 3 point advantage over them. So the Chelsea fixtures are the most important ones of the season.

The only good thing about losing this badly is hopefully it'll provide the kick up the glazer's backsides, and we'll get some serious cash to burn come January. I feel a bit bad for Fergie to be honest, i really think he's trying to create a team that'll last and be quality, but a) he can't compete with Roman, and b) the players aren't passionate enough anymore.

I think having Fletch around is becoming a luxury we can't afford. Smith needs to prove he can handle the duty himself, without a babysitter. I view our centre of midfield as a tricycle formation - it only needs 2 but there's 3 just in case. Park/Giggs/Ronaldo on the wings, Rooney in front of them and Ruud all the way up, and leave Smith and Scholes alone. It'll help uncrowd the centre of midfield, and one of the wingers can always drop in to support. Plus it'll install a bit of fear into teams, forcing them to defend. At the moment its triple team Ruud, hope Rooney doesn't do anything magical, and United aren't really an attacking threat.

Why dont we throw Smith up front again. Thats one way of giving everyone a kick up the backside. Dont play him in a position where he isnt noticed.

Nah, up front Smith plays a lot like Ruud, and Ruud's undeniably better. It'l be interesting when we have a substitute striker we can bring on. Best strike force in europe? Remember that? Ruud, rooney, saha, smith and ole...ha

Oh come hither january! But even then, who are we going to get? A defender, midfielder and a striker? Who's on the market?

Who we are gonna get is one thing, who will come to us is another. We are losing our pulling factor by the day.Nobody wants to put on red jerseys anymore, blue is the "in" thing now.

That was so bad! A 4-1 tonking. Fletcher JESUS, why does Sir Alex INSIST on playing this third-rate player. He can't pass, doesn't track back and never tackles!

O Shea, was a big fan of his, but way off form.
Smith just wasn't effective and Greedinand pleaseeeee...worlds best defender don't make me laugh
No flair, no passion. Just what does the shirt mean nowadays???
