I think complacency has stepped into O'Shea's mentality.I remember him saying that hes not guaranteed his first team place even thou he has signed a new contract.At least he got that part right.If he were to sit out,I can only imagine Sir Alex,drafting in Pique to play alongside Rio and Silvestre moving back out to leftback.Personally I'd love this move as I like Pique playing alongside my idol Rio and Silvestre is much more devastating down the left flank with those crosses of his.Phil Bardsley has performed admirably well so far so no problems there,plus Wes Brown is coming back too.

your proving my point, the reason the mls players are not as good, cause all of our best atheletes dont play soccer, yours do! NBA is popular in the world thru out, I will give you the other too, but baseball is huge in asia and central america.... You having a laugh, just look at the olympics, we dominate, and you guys participate in those sports as well.... and you are "arsed" to compete in those...

Ah who cares about the NFL,basball blah blah not me and certainly only a small amount of people inn england who want to act american for some reason! Anyway more important news is Keiran Richardson has signed a new deal. Maybe when giggs hangs up his boots Richardson will have good chance of replacing him, i certaintly wouldnt mind, this guy has pace,strength and creativity, he aint afraid to run at players either. I'm expecting a tight game tbh, probably 2-1 but i'm not sure who to. I hope us of course but i think our midfield could really struggle, so we'll have to wait and see.

umm its a hard one to call, i think it depends what system we use in my opinion. I think if we play cautious with 5 midfielder , i think it will be 1-1. if we play attacking like how we lined up against fulham and sunderland, then i think we can expect a thrilling match considering spurs will be up for it after last year with the Pendro Mendes/Caroll incident lol! plus they will be looking to prove they are a more than s match for us.Im betting and hoping its 3-1 to us.

I think Rossi's about 6'2" so he's not short j4y3m, but he's not exactly built like a brick shithouse though.

No way on earth is Rossi 6'2". I know that's what it says on soccernet, it also says he's a midfielder. I would guess he's about 5'8", if that. Little guy, but if he can be like Owen, than who cares!

Try to get more. so you make your judgement on the quality of a team based on 3 games? We won brazil a year and half ago, yeah the Brazil the 5 times World Champion, does that makes us better than them? Certainly not.
And another thing. Did I mention Portugal was better? Correction: Did I mention [INSERT COUNTRY HERE]?

Just read today again that the Glazers have put faith in Ferguson to find the right players in the transfer window and will allow him to buy ANYONE no matter how expensive simply because they trust Ferguson's decisions.
And apparently, he's gonna go on a spending spree.

Thats what i was thinking, how can rossi be small if he is over 6foot, man the guy is 5.7 same as scholes. Your also right about this NFL,USA thing flooding the thread, i think its csunders fault, before it was Tim Howard mania if i remember correctly now its NFL,baseball is the best sport and football sucks lol.

Actually, you can blame me for that, I was just commenting that NFl players seem to play through mroe pain than footie players, but I think its been quite thoroughly discussed, so over now.

Today should be a great game, unfortunately once again no way to see it in the UK right? GRrrrrrr!

Oh, a site i looked on (manutdzone) said Rossi was 6'2" - my bad- twats, why dont they just put "unknown" if they don't know!

Anyhow, Rooney on the wing? Hmmm, let's see how much he stays out there. Doesn't sound hopeful though. Hope it's not another boring game!

1-1 jenes equalised, to be honest when i heard we play 4-3-3 i wasnt suprised, i cant see it being any more than a draw im afraid. We are shit poor our form is all over the place at the moment.

Jenas free kick was quality, we played 442 first half and domniated. Spurs were never going to score from open play today, they were terrible. Second half I Fergie must have had the opposite of a dressing room speech, because they came out flat and poor. Still, shows the danger of only being up 1-0. Fergie did play Rooney, Ronalod, Ruud, Rossi and Park, but only for a few minutes at the end.

I think the main problem we have now is thel ack of a 3rd central midfielder, that fergie could bring on the in the second half. By the end of the game Smith had simply stopped running, and Scholes was only a little more energetic. Spurs played really boring football though, I guess they came for a point and got it.

Yeah a second half of 433, with nothing but long balls going up towarsd Ruud. I cannot fathom why anyone would think that could work. Someone needs to bring SAF some tapes of how united used to play, sharp passing, good penetration, balls along the ground and using the wings. This whole, play it back to Rio and let him slam it towarsd Ruud is just insulting. But the first half was really good, best I've seen us play all year. I can't work out what happened!

Totally agree beachryan, i don't know why the 2nd half was so different.

1st half we closed down well, lots of energy and working hard, we played well. 2nd half we just seemed to stop doing all that, and i think the only real chance was ronaldo's header at the end.

Almost every game this season our performances change each half, we're either slow and boring in the 1st then wake up in the 2nd, or vice versa.

It keeps happening, i can't work out why atm and it's costing us results.

LOL. You were spot on. If you can see this, and everyone else can see this, why the f*ck does Sir Alex still want to use a lone striker?

The Premiership is more or less over already. Last season, Chelsea only lost one game but this season they look as though they might win all 38 games in a row. They're unstoppable now.

We need to bring in a few players, aim for second place for the guaranteed CL place plus the extra cash, win the FA Cup, and focus on getting further in the CL. Thats all we can realistically expect from the team now. Cuz even if we do our part by winning the rest of our games and beating Chelsea, it looks like its reached a point where even that wont be enough to win back the title.

Im not a man utd fan, but just thought I'd give my views on this team ;)

First off, from an outsiders perspective, you have 4 players that in my eyes are awesome. You got Ruud, Rooney, Ronaldo and Van Der Sar.

I gotta say I love Ronaldo, awesome footy player. Wish he was playing for barca, reckon he'd fit perfectly.

But anyway, watching the Lille game mid week makes you realise how rubbish man utd have become in the centre of the park. Smith and Fletcher are ok, but not man utd standard. As for Scholes, dont mean to be harsh but he's not playing at the same high level he used to. Maybe thats because of the role Sir Alex gas given him recently?

If its true that Sir Alex has loads of cash to spend in Jan, then I hope they buy a world class midfielder. I heard they are linked to Ballack, but they also need a holding mid.

Ballack & Gravesen/Diop in centre of the park? With Ronaldo and Park on the wings. all four behind Rooney and Ruud :)

you know it makes sense.
