Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

I've decided football players are wimps. I mean really, how is it possible that half a squad of strapping men can hurt themselves running around playing football. In the NFL, players play with hairline fractures, hernias, broken fingers, contusiosn you name it. In football its like, ooo I've slightly strained my groin, i best rest for 5 weeks to ensure it doesnt' get any worse. Dammit they get paid so much money they should dose up on pain killers and deliver regardless. Argh

And Ronaldo doesn't strike me as the brightest crayon in the box, but I still don't think he'd rape someone. He can't be that stupid. The fact that he's sleeping with strangers in the stuie of a hotel does say something for his taste, but lets hope she's just looking for a quick payoff.

Such a poor few days. No giggs or ronaldo on saturday, clearly. So what on earth will the formation be? I guess at least it explains why he's been playing so poorly, that's a bit of weight on ones mind. I guess move Fletcher out wide, where he's actually kind of useful, with rooney, scholes, park and smith making the rest? Sighs..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

NFL players are a lot bigger and it's not exactly the most athletic sport in the world because there's a lot of players in the NFL who are over-weight.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

That weight is intentional. NFL player's are very good athletes, an extremely athletic player is just as good as one with raw-talent in the NFL. In football, a player can a bad athelete, even smoke and drink, and get by if he's talented. In lower leagues this shows.
That said, I agree that today's football players are getting wimpier.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

He is innocent with any doubt. Nice bitch's who lie for money.

OMG thats the dumbest thing i have ever seen posted here, sorry dude, not trying to be mean, cornerbacks, runningbacks, safties, tight ends, wide recivers are some of the most gifted athletes in the world... you have men who are as fast as Ronaldo and TWICE his size!!! Can you imagine the man the size of ibrah or RVN, having the speed of tiago martins.... they play thru a lot of pain, but beachyryan sorry bro, they dont play thru groin pulls..... or hammys...

tru dat, some players barely ever played in high school or college yet our stars in the NFL because they are world class athletes, you woudl never see that in football....

 bastard.

Oh well, Ronaldo's agent issued a statement today.
He said the expected, he's innocent and that from the 2(?) girls that pressed charges, one of them as already stepped back. He points out the fact that the charges were only pressed after the 2 trie to sell the story to the newspapers.
I think this line says it all.

The rest of the statement is the usual "the case is being handled by... bla bla bla..."

fotie is all about talent. NFL is more about who has the biggest muscles and who is faster. (and the best kevlar armour:lol: )

:)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

I remember seeing David james go over to the Miami Dolphins to train one summer and he was full of praise saying how much harder they train ect, Although Keegan was still in charge of Citys training at the time so it probably wouldnt have took much to improve!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

Another comment about the lille game, as someone said before, i don't understand why fergie didn't make any changes earlier, actually i don't think he would have even brought park on if giggs wasn't hurt.

It made no sense, we were creating absolutely nothing, no real attacking play and creating hardly any chances, but he leaves rossi sitting on the bench and brings park on far too late, 2 players who could have made a difference and got us the win. Was he just happy to take the 0-0 (remember the lpool game too)?

I dunno, very frustrating night.

Looking to the spurs game, it's a must win for us, glad we'll have rooney back and i hope park starts (i assume he will now giggs is out).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

I dont think Rossi is he type of player who can turn things around just yet.

Football players are the way they are because its what's required. If you needed to be big like an NFL player, you'd see that in football. You cant tell us that football players arent as fit as NFL players cuz an NFL player cant do things that a football player can do.
You're right in saying that NFL players play through a lot of pain but thats because the pain doesnt stop them from playing the sport. If they are in pain, they are still able to play because they just have to use basic abilities such as running, but if a football player has a minor injury, he can lose important abilities such as his first touch, ability to score, use tricks like what Ronaldo and Ronaldinho use, etc. An NFL player doesnt need to be able to do those things which is why they're able to play in pain.

Or to simply put it, an injury gives football players more restrictions than it does to an NFL player. I know you're just trying to defend what is arguably the biggest sport your country has to offer but what ou're saying is wrong cuz if it was true, you would have obviously seen what you call "gifted atheletes" in football over here.

 What I said about Adu was that he wouldnt be effective in England cuz in our country, if you're small and gifted, you get knocked down since its the easiest way of stopping you. Adu would do so well in a country like Spain.

I've always thought the same thing, he's a little too light. But...he's 16, tis not like its tough to bulk up. Spend the summer working out 4 times a week with a trainer and he'd easily pack on some weight and strength, and hopefully therefore balance. Coming to england would push him more than the other leagues in that area. Plus I thikn he's set on england, has mentioned united and mroe recently chelsea in the past. Chelsea's making this big push for young players they develop, i coudl certainly see him giong there. Unfortunately. He and Obi Mikel can share the bench ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

Both Ronaldos(Man and RM) used to be skinny bastards.
The kid is only 16 (Adu) give him time. Although the sooner he comes to europe the better it is for him.

true that is what the sport requires, BUT as you say its our biggest sport, and dont mean to be cocky but its true, america produces the worlds greatest atheltes, just look at our olympic records.... our atheletes dont play your football cause quite simply, there is more money to be made in our sports then yours, and our best atheletes usually go after the money. None of the players we have sent over to Europe are even close the caliber of the athelte we have in the NBA or NFL.... Our atheltes have zero incentive to play your football... so thats why you dont see our "gifted" atheltes in your football

"You cant tell us that football players arent as fit as NFL players cuz an NFL player cant do things that a football player can do."

and vice versa bro.... all i know, and my whole point is this, NFL players are far greater atheltes then european footballers... have you looked at paul scholes lateley? :) hahahahah gary neville? hahaahha these guys look like the postman!!!!

Not everyone plays for the money. And secondly, if your athletes are better, how come the MLS players are nowhere as good as the European players?
And IMO, you're sounding a bit too arrogant cuz to be fair, the sports like the NBA, NFL and MLB are only taken seriously in America and the rest of the world dont care. Its almost like America are living in their own world. In any of those 3 sports, you only have to be the best in the US to be the best in the world. In soccer, you actually have to compete against every country in the world to consider yourself the best. Therefore proving that your country has the most talent. We could argue that Europeans dont have an incentive to play your American sports cuz the competition is only based in the US. Which means that we probably could be better than you but cant be arsed.

I know that but this is where you're wrong. You're still saying that NFL players are more talented whereas I'm trying to say that both sets of players are equally as good at their own sport.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

Meanwhile,Louis Saha is back but the next question we ask after hearing this news is,"For How Long?" Hahaha...I pity the guy,I just think he works too hard sometimes on the pitch, goin in for challenges that he shouldnt have.Wes Brown has the same mentality too,he dosent gives two fcuks about sliding thru a player.I hope they change their mentality and play smarter after this injury episode.Anybody thought about how our lineup is going to be come this weekend against Spurs? We are depleted and this is probably how we are gonna look like.

--------------------------VDS----------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
---Bardsley---------Rio-----------Silvestre-----O'Shea---
---------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Smith---------------------------
------------Fletcher---------------Scholes---------------
---------------------------------------------------------

Subs:
Pique,Rossi,Ebanks-Blake,Miller & Martin (we will take the bench right off the reserves team!!)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

I'd personally use the same team but in a 4-4-2 with Fletcher on the right and Park on the left.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

please no 4-3-3 or4-5-1 we play absolutly shit when we use those dumb ass formations, we looked ordinary against fucking Lille. I know we had injuries but we still had scholes, giggs, rvn and ronaldo who can all create chances, well at least i thought they could! Im gonna go nuts if i see that 433 against spurs and lose or play shit again, cleary tuesday showed how we went from scoring 6 goals from last two premiership games playing 4-4-2 to scoring none against crap lille playing stupid 4-5-1. I mean why the fuck are we even playing cautious against Lille, i could of fell asleep it had 0-0 written all over it

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

True what you said Alucard. This 4-3-3 formation has a love-hate relationship with me,one moment i was thinkin its perfect and if only we played like chelsea, the next moment I think its crap and we are too calculative at passes and creating chances most of the times.Either way,442 or 433,we all want 3 points against spurs tomorrow damn it,i know it'll be hard, has always been against spurs.Bear in mind that this season's Spurs are the best yet.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Good Source @ club says 2-3 players in Jan!

I think O'shea should sit the game. I know its important, but I tink he's become complacent with his place in the team. He really has been detracting from performances lately, just everything from concentration to work effort, even his ability looks to have dipped. Don't know why, I used to rate him as a good prospect.

Fletcher on the other hand really surprised me the second half of last match. He was fairly useless in the first half, but in the second he was the only person doing anything til park came on. I'd like to just try him out wide for a bit, see if his defensive responsibilities are relieved if he's not a half bad side midfielder.

Park and ronaldo...long day for the full backs!
