Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A true United fan at heart and a great player, just a shame he never recovered after that injury.

Cheers Nev!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A lovely, stat for Friday morning: '92-'11: #lfc - gross spend £491.85m, net £177.30m, 7 major trophies. #mufc - gross spend £435.16m, net £150.81m, 21 major trophies. Value.

No slip ups tomorrow please...!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I have a terrible feeling about tomorrow.

Has the ability to turn out like 03/04 when we played them and let Kenny fucking Miller score against us. Pretty sure we were fairly comfortably top of the league at that point back then as well.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think it was the first game after Rio's ban or his last before the ban? Funnily enough I was pretty confident a couple weeks ago the title was ours and since then we haven't dropped a point but im know less convinced after the big games we've got left compared to Arsenal.

Emirates game will probably decide it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

His last before it, or the first of the ban I think.

Funny he gets injured in the warm up and we're now 2-1 down...

Hernandez better get ready to rescue us again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rio got subbed with injury before Miller scored the winner that time.

Now he got injured in the warm-up and our defence is all over the place...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Pathetic, but predictable.

Hopefully the loss doesn't affect the lads too much, but similar to what happened in 08/09 once we lost the run of not conceding for ages, we'll more than likely go to pot.

Least Arsenal threw it away though.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fair play to Wolves - they are awesome at defending a lead. Despite not taking a shot in the second half, and only having 25% possession, they didn't let us create anything.

Can't believe the prem let them get away with that pitch though...apparently they brought it in width-wise and kicked the crap out of it ahead of the match.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

At least we got that unbeaten rubbish out of the way. Better to lose it now than in the run-in.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Surprised some of you lot haven't had a meltdown ;)). To be fair we were crap and our away form is relegation form. we seem to let the opposition have far more possession than I can remember from past seasons.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Will be interesting how Fergie chooses to partner Vidic in the City game. Evans had another mare, thought he'd turned it around after the 'Pool game, so could Smalling be in with a chance to start?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Let's hope Nev can talk Evans into retiring with him.

Just amazing what a fall from grace Evans has had. Only 12 months ago viewed as unnaturally good as a 21 year old, now he's been on the pitch for the majority of our conceded goals this season, despite only playing under a third of hte minutes. Liability.

I would definitely play Smalling and Vidic. Or Brown?

Again, the real problem is there for everyone to see: we have no midfield. Why Fergie took off the absolutely woeful Fletcher instead of Carrick is anyone's guess, but made no difference. Teams know that if they defend with 10 men we can't break them down because our midfielders lack any kind of direct-passing ability. All of our penetration has to come from the wings, and when Giggsy has an off day everything falls apart.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Scholes and Carrick should start the next away game, just keep the ball for a decent period and we'd smash teams with our front 4.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Somewhat more concerning is having conceded twice from set pieces. Rio is very important for such things, but we shouldn't be that vulnerable without him. Next week is a real worry now - possibly make or break for the season. And of course, most of our team are playing in pointless, useless, f*cking ridiculously timed international friendlies. Lovely.

(I know City's players are too, doesn't change the fact it is shameless how the world football associations schedule friendlies in the middle of the season)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good link DagsJT ,Liam Whelan last words I`m ready for it! Not many get to know someone`s last words. That is very consoling.

@northstandhero very true about today`s player . Think in MUTD the tradition of loyal still remains there w/ a few at least.
