Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How often do you lot see Hernandez starting? He looks a cracking player and he's cheap on the FA Fantasy Football so I've picked him but not sure how much action he'll see.

Transfer news just posted on Twitter:

Just seen on the man utd website http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={B4CEE8FA-9A47-47BC-B069-3F7A2F35DB70}&newsid=6651318&infosid=17&pageno=1&usecache=false&preview_9foejvnizp9dhj73=true&now

so thats
rooney
berba
hernandez
owen
bebe
macheda

Bloody hell.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

And Welbeck eventually!

Just thought, at least we've got a Portuguese speaking nani to look after the bebe.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Another 20 year old striker....

we're going really young with our attacking talent...with Macheda/Welbeck at 19, Bebe at 20, Chicharito/Diouf is 22, Rooney is just 23, thats already 6 young strikers and two more experienced ones (Berba and Owen)

I think we're quite set in the forward department for the coming future...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

oh woops, my bad...

but still, having so many young strikers, wouldn't it affect their growth in terms of lack of minutes to share amongst them?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Haha just found they've also got someone called Mame, so that's Mame, Bebe & Nani now looking to sign Dade to complete the family :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

what`s wrong w/ Rooney? looked dismantle , anyhow seem Mutd are practically a new portuguese side lol or just trying to find the next Ronaldo ..:SMUG:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i've heard this bebe fella can also play in the attacking midfield role, that definitely would help us out as we need options there

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I have a man crush on Chicharito, Real can can do one if they try to snap him up. :...

Quite surprised with the random striker signing? Does anyone know what type of player he is, he must be very talented (atleast I would think so!) for us to sign him with already 5 strikers this season and potentially 1/2 more and forking out 7M for him when Real were also looking at him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He is fast, strong and very talented, a natural killer I must say.

Never heard about him neither saw in young teams. When read this I thought like WTF.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Apparently he's not a striker, he's more of a attacking midfielder....hmmm...might explain the £7 million price tag we were willing to pay.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

And apparently we are lacking in height apart from Berba in the attacking department...The boy is almost as tall as David Gill..as seen in the handshake picture.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yesterday Bebe was on the front page of Marca as a Real target so looks like we acted quickly to get in there before they did. I wonder how soon it'll be before we see him in action? Doesn't sound like he had any academy training and he even played in the homeless world cup so he must be really raw but i suppose that could be a good thing in some ways too. Interesting signing.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I doubt very much we paid his release clause. Just the 'journalists' doing their thing.

Who knows how he'll turn out, but if he is truly an AMF then at least we're buying the right type of player. I can't help but wish him the best - from the Homeless World Cup to Old Trafford. Mental.

Oh and Chicarito...friggin eh

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I read that he is a street footballer too....not trained any sort of academies but made in the streets....maybe hes like one of those Amsterdam Streetlegends with a mix of Kaka? Hahaha.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The media went into over drive yesterday when they found a similar page for Ozil (and the same with Benzema & Silva last year). It's been that way for the last couple of seasons.
It's a daft way of doing it, but apparently it's something to do with being able to add the transfer rumours to the site...

Not that we'd be complaining if we were to magic up Balotelli & Ozil... ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I love it. No one even knows what position this Bebe guy plays. He's that mysterious. I just hope he's not a striker, cause we're waaaay overloaded with some potentially very good players. I mean:

Rooney - Here for at least the next 5/6 seasons and definite starter if fit
Berbatov - Definitely getting another chance this year, 2nd choice
Owen - As far as I can tell sticking around on his low cost scheme, probably 3rd choice
Chicarito - Looking devilishly good, likely to move on up this scale or become super sub
Macheda - Fergie has said he's too good to loan out, so I presume he'll be here.

That's 5 first team strikers, none of whom can play wide or in other positions (perhaps Roon on the left, but unlikely given last year). Then we also have a few genuinely good reserves/youth players:

Welbeck - About to go on loan to Sunderland - what if he has a stormer? Young, english, Mancunian...
Diouf - Already scored once on loan with Blackburn, looks raw but has a respectable scoring record. Also only 22.
Petrucci - People that watch the youth/reserves teams have been absolutely creaming over this fella, if his injuries subside he's apparently Totti mach 2
Josh King - Already scoring goals on his championship loan, has played for the first XI and is just 17
Will Keane - Apparently a scarily good finisher, again, only 17.
Bebe - Yeah, who?

I mean that is a ridiculous number of players competing for at most two births in an XI. I don't get it. In Fergie I trust and all that, but unless this Bebe turns out as a midfielder, I'm not going to be impressed.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yesterday at the poker table with friends everyone was like: "Who the hell is Bebé?" Nobody kwew who he was. ManU did it seems.

I just read a bit about him.

He was a very poor kid, with no home, went through a number of foster homes and grew up playing football on the streets. He played in the homeless national team.

Recently he had a 50.000€ transfer from E. Amadora (2nd division team) to Guimarães. And now Guimarães profits big time selling him for 9M€...

What pisses me off is the fact that Benfica buys a million brazilian players per year and doesn't even know about the gems in our backyard... :(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So I'm now hearing he didn't actually play in the homeless world cup. For some reason that would now feel like a let down!

Either way, David Gill has basically said we'll bring him over, keep him in the reserves for a year then loan him out. I have no idea what we're playing at.
