Manchester United Thread

Athletes shouldn't do this. But they do.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can't believe he sung songs, outrageous.

I hate the fact some footballers still smoke and drink, to be perfectly honest, just seems so irresponsible. The amount the get paid compared to other athletes who are far more committed doesn't help. That's life I guess...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't see anything wrong with having a drink but smoking in general is just a shite thing to do.

Still, it's entirely upto him what he does with his life and I'm sure he wasn't the only one singing songs, smoking and taking leaks against a wall that night.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Cant knock him, just goes to show he's just a normal lad. After all its summer time and as of today I bet he doesnt touch a fag/drink again for quite a while!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well, having a drink is nothing...look at any players winning from any sports chucking champagne , WC champions were all drinking Budweisers in the dressing rm. What`s in the bottle when the MOTM receives?

Now, smoking is a different story ,because his lungs effects his intake those lungs hold in the toxicity for a long period not as alcohol it`s filtered out via liver and doesn`t stay in the body. So, the main concern is Roo likes a fag and this isn`t the 1st time. In Miami he was sharing a fag by the pool . To make a long story short he doesn`t change smoke ,but takes from his mates for a drag and the pictures makes him look like some change smoker  Must be hard being Roo everything is either frown or praised a pond.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Though apparently it's easier for smokers to breath at altitude, so doesn't really explain the world cup :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Smoking probably does.

True but if he's only having the odd one and only on the few occasions he goes out like that then it's probably not doing much harm and he can carry on banging 30 odd goals a season. I doubt he sits at home with Coleen chain-smoking infront of the TV.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Just got this one from Google:

I guess you CAN smoke and play good football. :BOP:

Anyway I just got the new United kit, medium size and... holy crap, it's HUGE. It's so much longer than last year's kit it looks like I'm wearing a nightgown. F*****g Nike.

Now I'm gonna have to wear it tucked in. :CURSE:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah heard a few people say that. Looks it on the players too, I guess it's the fit Nike wanted.

Cool Zidane pic!

Didnt you try it on for size before buying the kit?!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well a relative was going to England for a few days so I asked her to get me a shirt at Sports Direct. It would have been much more expensive buying it here in Paris where I live.

I wanted to try it on in a shop near where I live but couldn't find any selling it. Should have gone to a Nike store. Last time I'm buying without trying.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Who do I give my card details to then?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So Aitricty XI tonight...with a chunk of the first team to be involved. Should be interesting to see how rusty they look, and how Fergie mixes in the youngsters.

Heard that Owen is going to play, which would be a welcome surprise. I had thought he was still recoperating from the last time he sneezed.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bit harsh on Owen mate, that's the only injury he's had with us and he got pulling up on that shitty Wembley pitch after scoring the equaliser in the Carling Cup final!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What kinda shirt you’re looking for? You can check out for your desired shirt online too. Just insert name and search it out … then you can purchase it online with your Card … simple!
Sports Direct is probably the cheapest place to get authentic (as in, NOT FAKE) football kits. I could have got it from their website, but that would have cost me an extra 15 quid for shipping.

Any other place where they sell them for less than £30 I don't trust.

Can't wait to see tonight's game. Because all our pre-season games have been so late at night, I couldn't watch any of them.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I stayed up for all of them apart from Chivas!! :PP

Why don't you take your shirt to a shop near you and ask to swap it for a small size? That's assuming you haven't taken the Nike tags off etc and it's as good as new and they can resell it at their own price?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Those who said Chicharito reminds them of a very young Michael Owen, I fully agree.

His blistering pace, the fact that he seems to loves playing on the shoulder of last defender and make those excellent runs, his good instincts and finishing ability.

The more I see him, the more of a fan I become! Javier Hernandez might well prove to be a far better purchase than most initially expected and turn out to be a real bargain!

I doubt a Nike Store would be willing to swap a shirt that's not coming from its own stores. They'd be too afraid of getting a fake.

I would have stayed up to watch the games if I didn't have to work the next day. I guess I could have though. :P

I hope we'll have decent line up tonight.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nice to see OG's still with us this year. :SMUG:

Edit: looks like it was actually a very nice piece of skills from Owen.
