Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So wait, Vela is taller?

Is this guy a registered midget then?

First we sign 50 cent (ironically, fiddy is probably better at football) and now we've got midgets up front as well?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Chicarito = The Little Pea!
Liverpool has got a tranny...and we've got pretty boy!! If he is anything half decent then I would be glad.Seems like a poacher/Saviola type of player.Very quick in the box and very good on the counter attack.Youtube him up...his Top 10 Goals video should give us a sneak peek at his skills.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sorry, for writing this a little late, but I don't mean to offend people when i state that Ribery is overrated. The reason I say that is because from the matches I've seen him play (not that many, mostly for national team), I don't see him in the same level as C. Ron nor Messi. And for him to state a huge price-tag onto himself last summer was the reason behind my stating of "overrated" player. That's all

On a more Man Utd note, I'm sort of excited to see what this new striker can bring. Hopefully more than jersey sales in Latin America. He is very young, so I'd assume that we'd loan him out first to get him used to English football before he will get a real chance on the team??

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The Andy D'Urso thing that keeps being brought up... he had just awarded a penalty against after Stam had clearly taken the ball and our players angrily confronted him, whilst this is wrong, it's far more understandable than doing it to a ref to get a player booked for pulling your arm as you ran 40 yards from goal.

Don't let context get in the way of a good dig though eh.

And we now have this 'Respect' campaign. Nice to see it's working...might as well have given Ribery the whistle...

I'm not saying it wasn't a booking for Raf, because it was. He was unfortunate over the first one though, as it was a blatant foul on him. Unfortunately he didn't keep his cool and paid the price.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What happened to Diouf? When he first got to Old Trafford, he played a few minutes on the pitch and I though that he might not actually be another Manucho, but now he's completely disappeared.

Oh well, I have high hopes for Macheda. Hopefully he'll be playing this weekend. I really want to see if he's as good as SAF says.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think SAF realised after that spastic Wolves performance that Diouf isn't very good, so he's never gonna play again, just like Manucho.

Macheda on the other hand looks like more and more of a top striker every match, and has the most important aspect of any striker, he's a jammy bastard. Two of his three goals have been complete and utter flukes, but at the same time he was there in the right spot to get that luck.

21 is not very young...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So what's happened to Hargreaves? Will he be on the bench for the Blackburn game?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Who knows I hope to see him before the end of the season though.

From reading up on our little Mexican fella and watching some of those infamous Youtube compilations, he looks quite decent. Hell of a leap on him for 5'9 and scores quite a nice variety of goals and seems pretty quick too. He seems good at beating the offside trap too and quite a cool finisher in the box.

Good record for the national team too and hopefully the idea of signing him before he boosts his value after a decent showing at the World Cup pays off and we get ourselves a little bargain.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh yeah and has everyone seen that about us turning down David Villa.

Apparently we are his preferred destination and for €40m Valencia have agreed to sell him but we are not prepared to pay that for a player on his last contract, fair enough I say. Maybe if we can get them down to €20m we'll go for it but I can't see them selling for that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Villa is at an age that there'll be no resale value, and he'd just be there to help us in the short run to maintain our top quality in attack. And getting Villa will just mean that there's no more room for Berbatov cause that is what Berbatov is here for...

i might be wrong, but 40m for him at this age is a bit too much.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The David Villa signing wouldn't make sense in anyway. We have Rooney with Macheda/Owen/Hernandez potential replacements. Berbatov is happy playing the bench role for the big games and is good enough to partner Wayne against cannon fodder.

It all depends on what SAF wants to do, stick with our current 4-4-2/4-3-3 policy or move to 4-3-3 permanently, Is Hargreaves ever going to be fit and possibly good enough to be a regular?

We need to replace Scholes(possibly could say Carrick who plays that role currently whilst sitting) with a deep lying playmaker who can control the game.

If we can get that sorted for next season i'd be happy :))

About Hernandez, he seems similar to a Owen or more preferably Saviola. Hopefully the lad can turn a few heads

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Looks like he could be what Owen was supposed to be for us.
Can't wait, TBH.
