Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What a beauty of a goal the one Robben scored,a former blue too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ribery sir you are an ugly arsehole literally.... Waving imaginary cards for a borderline foul?! Hope he enjoys the tainted win.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

My thoughts at halftime were:

1. Nani will do a Messi.
2. Rooney is injured, needs to come off.
3. Fabio needs to come off, Ribery will get a 2nd yellow out of him.

On another note, I hate Berbatov, ever since he first signed for you lot. Always prefered Tevez. Look at him today, after 70m Nani was still running full speed everywhere, Berbatov walked... :(

After tomorrow all top English teams will be out of European competitions...

yeah .... leading by 3 goals is hard to explain Bayern looked a mess in the 1st half. No one cares about Europa though

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fuck off from Rafael. Referee was a stupid dick. How the fuck he could get him 2nd yellow after that foul?! And how the fuck Bayern's players didn't received more cards? Schweinsteiger, wtf?!

I think you mean bommel he gave a hard foul too sitting on a yellow

I'm sorry but both fouls deserved a yellow card. You can't expect the ref to feel sympathy just because it's a CL quarter final.

That's the second time Rafael pissed me off big time (first one was the penalty he gave against City). Now I just want him to go away.

Goddamnit.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson on Rafael's sending-off: "Young boy, inexperience, but they got him sent off. They all rushed towards the referee. Typical Germans. You can't dispute that. The key issues were the goal before half-time and then the boy getting sent off, but it's still taken an exceptional goal to win the tie."

LOL what a muppet

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

the 2nd yellow card was shouting that i am coming, cant understand why Ferguson didnt take Rafael out

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rafael also f*cked up on that counter when he had Rooney and Nani alone and decided on a terrible shot...

I was rooting for United, but Lyon, Bayern, Barça, Inter means the first time in many years that no English team reaches the semis, we need some variety, English football was becoming too dominant lately...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Still trying to get my head around why you sold him in the first place??:CONFUSE:
He was too injury prone, only got about 25 games a year from him.

His manager(who also happens to be his father)wanted him to move to Real Madrid, what a perfect career decision that was..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rafael's cards were easily avoidable. First one down to petulance and a stupid over-reaction second..well if whisky nose had any sense he could have helped Rafael avoid another booking by subbing him especially if he knew about those "typical germans"

What a trumpet!!

Typical Sir Alex. Gracious as ever in defeat.

It's easy to blame others when his tactics were wrong. He shouldn't have gambled on Rooney

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How were his tactics wrong?

We were 3-0 up after 40 minutes and absolutely cruising. Then they nicked a chancer's goal before half time and then only managed to score ONE brilliant goal from a corner while we had 10 men for 40 minutes.

Tactical disaster. I bet he's kicking himself.

I wish we had players fit that long :JAY: RVP 15 - 20 ( 3 ) years now

Carrick falling asleep constitutes a chancers goal?

And i really hope so. He has certainly done England no favours playing Rooney. I'm sure the Scots will be happy!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah it wasn't a well crafted team move was it!? Carrick should have cleared it, Olic took a chance as he is good at and pressured him, got lucky and finished well. That to me is a chancer's goal.

And nothing to do with Fergie's tactics.

Typical ABU WUM.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Jumbo_,if you call Olic's goal a chance,i am curious what u call Manu goal in the 2nd minute at Allianz and tonights the first very early goal...

You'd know. 2 out of 3 are United fans!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Rooney's goal came from a bad slip and Gibson's goal was well taken.

I'm not taking anything away from Olic, I already said he did well, I just said it was a chancer's goal... which it was.

Jesus wept.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You can't blame any coach for not subbing someone who's already on a yellow card. Anybody would expect him to behave after being cautionned once.

If the player does get a red car, well, it's entirely his fault. Rafael is just stupid. He might learned from this, or he might not. Point is, it's not his first time doing this.

And SAF's tactics were perfectly fine. We were 3 - 0 up, how can he be wrong?

Manchester played in Munich 5min worldclass... in Manchester 40min world class soccer.

Bayern got Olic & Robben. Nothing more to say.

Our left winger Badstuber in his first Season was although at the borderline to a red card. Your young winger cross the borderline.

thats how we love this sport. thats football. thats it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You know this and Ferguson dosent?? thats why i cant understand why he didnt take him off

Well, just as I said, he expected him to behave. Just because he's done wrong in the past doesn't mean he'll do it again. In my opinion, it's entirely the player's fault.

I wouldn't want to see SAF take Rooney or Scholesy off whenever they get a yellow card.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Normally you would only take the player off if you can see that he have problems to mark his guy without fouling him. And he probably thought that Rafael was doing a great job and didn't see any indication that he was having so much trouble that it would justify a very early sub (that it would have been).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We didn't deserve that at all. That late goal in Germany cost us in the end.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah Rafael was having a great game and was dealing with Ribery pretty well, then he holds onto him whilst he's running off, which everyone with arms does when they're trying to catch someone, not just young Brazilian defenders, and that was that.

The fact is, 9/10 times, that foul would just be that, a foul and he'd get away with it. Ribery shoved him back and then motioned for a card to the ref (which is a fucking yellow in itself by the laws of the game) and the ref gave it. I'm not saying it wasn't a yellow of course, but usually players get away with fouls like that, especially when already on a yellow.

Still if we're gonna go out of Europe, might as well be to a great goal, fair play to Robben it was perfect.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think the problem is that it was a great counter attack and not any odd situation on the pitch. It was going to be a good goal scoring chance and he purposely ruined it for Ribery by holding on to him, giving him no chance to sprint away. The yellow card is correct, problem is that it looked like the ref was going to let him get away because he already had a yellow and then changed his mind. Some refs do take their time with the cards though (thinking it through so they don't act on impulse only), not everyone runs up and shove it in the player's face.
